Had an impromptu date night on Saturday since we noticed it was a new name on the business and what a pleasant surprise. This is the first time we write a review because we were that pleased with our experience. Sat at the bar and had great interaction with Andy. The waitress was attentive and the sushi....to die for!! We had the "Don't Know" and "Hot Night" rolls with salmon and mackerel sushi. We samples a few other things and cannot wait to return! So happy to have a great sushi place in walking distance! We've been here 3 times in the past 6 weeks and it's been consistently great. Tonight we called in a order for pick up. We had mentioned we were ordering our sons favorite sushi for his birthday. I love this sushi restaurant. We used to go to Sushi Zen in Lake Elsinore but this one is right around the corner from our house so we started coming here and found that we like it even more. It's a bit quieter than Sushi Zen because Sushi Zen usually has loud music playing which is great for a Friday night but not so great for a family dinner. This WAS my favorite sushi place up untill last night. Everytime weve been there the service has been great and the sushi has been awesome. As we were waiting for our sushi I felt something fall into my lap.....didnt think much of it ...but then I looked down. To my surprise it was a freakin MOUSE!!! Yes, a mouse fell from the small legde or whatever they got going on up in there. We didnt want to make a scene....so we just moved tables. Our sushi came out and was ok compared to other times. Our service was not good at all. The server looked like she needed some help. She forgot my hot tea twice. They forgot my sons kids meal and they brought it to us once we were almost done with our meal. To top it off his plate was dirty and sticky all underneath. So after all this I expected for the owner/ sushi maker guy to at least cut our $100 bill in half...but no. I wasnt till I asked if they were willing to do something since I had a MOUSE land on my lap on their reataurant. The server came back and handed to a $30 gift cert and said that was the best they could do. .....really? Its a shame since in local and Im all about supporting out local businesses. On its own, I think sake would be my favorite sushi place in the area. After today, I'm going to be giving them extra points just because of the enjoyable experience. I met my mother here for her birthday dinner, when I walked in I saw the chef at the bar having conversation with her, seeming to be very friendly. We ordered three different rolls and the two apps. Two rolls came out along with the apps. When we disputed the bill they told us that we were wrong, the rolls had been served, and that we needed to pay the full bill. Never again for this place. That is unfortunate because we LOVE sushi and this is right across the street from our new home here in Wildomar. My advise? This is usually our go to sushi place since it's right across the street from us and the service and food is pretty good --- tonight, however, was a different story. We came in, both my husband and I were dressed down because it was a day off so we were wearing comfy yet acceptable public outfits. The waitress walked right past us without acknowledging us, stood there for about 5 minutes without being greeted. She then calls out from behind the register "For to go right?" took us a minute to realize she was talking to us since there was no hello or welcome or anything. We then told her we wanted to dine in and she responded with "anywhere's fine." we took a seat and when she finally brought the menu, she placed it down on the table without a word and promptly walked away. How was this an acceptable form of customer service? I highly doubt she'd appreciate being treated the way she treated us if she was in our shoes. We're not difficult customers but this is unacceptable behavior. We got up and left. We're not about to give our money to an establishment that clearly did not want us there. read more

I have been to sushi places all over Orange/Riverside county. This is probably the best sushi place I have ever been to. My wife and I are thoroughly impressed with the quality of their sushi. We can't believe how much fish are in the rolls compared to rice. Most places have thick rice with very little fish in the middle. This place has lots of fish or inner sushi, they don't go cheap on leaving fish out of their rolls. The rolls are also larger than most places. I could usually eat about two rolls anywhere I go... I was born and raised in Hawaii. We commonly ate sushi and sashimi as part of our regular diet and it was common at any festival or family gathering. I have eaten sushi in Japan, sashimi fresh off a fishing line, harvested uni in Hawaii and the waters off the Philipines, and eaten at dozens of sushi restaurants all over the nation and around the world. On my first lunch visit to Sake Sushi I was amazed at the quality of the product provided. I had just three items, the Monk Fish Liver, Uni and the dragon roll. The Monk Fish Liver was a surprise treat, it was my first experience with the product and was recommended by my server. The flavor and consistency was delightful. My server was smart enough to recommend it after I inquired as to whether or not Uni was available. As regards the Uni, it was some of the most delightful and tastiest urchin I have experienced. The color was gold, the flavor was sweet and briny and the experience of the flavor and bouquet take you right to your favorite seaside spot! The Dragon Roll is very generously portioned, of note was the preparation of the eel. It was broiled to perfection, with the subtlest crisp flavorful edges bringing rich highlights to the eel's earthier tone. Presentation combines simplicity and elegance that highlights the quality of the product. The service does not disappoint either. My server was knowledgeable, friendly and competent. The inner decor is pleasant, cozy and comfortable. The outside of the establishment is not ornate and has kind of a "sleeper" look, nothing that would distinguish it from the large number of other strip mall restaurants of similar fare. But the quality their product delivers far exceeds the expectations created by their plain facade. The interior of the restaurant is an oasis of flavor, service and quality. I left off the fifth star as I only had three of the items on the menu, if that was all they served it would have been a five star review. The food is awesome here the prices are good and they have awesome lunch specials. Now both times we came the service was absolutely horrible they had one server on Thursday night with a completely packed place this girl was waiting all the tables by herself. The second time we came the waitress was just kinda spacey. She came to take our drink order 2 times... there was only 2 other people in the whole place so it's not like she was slammed either. I had to get up and find my own bowls for my soy sauce bc she dropped off the ginger and wasabi after me asking her twice but no bowls to put the soy sauce. The whole visit went like that not anything to bad just little annoyances throughout the whole trip but the food is good so we will probably be back please please get better servers and this place will be amazing read more

The customer service is great but it takes about an hour to get three roles with the place empty. We are casual sushi goers and constantly trying new places. Unfortunately this place didn't make the cut. Too many great places in murrieta,temecula to decide to go here. Their grabd opening deal is 2 full rolls for 20 dollars. Some things never change. I tried this restaurant 4 years ago. The service was horrible!!!!!! the food was good. The service was so bad they triple charged me on my credit card and when I questioned management about it they got so angry they followed me out into the parking lot. For some ridiculous reason last night on my way to San Diego my son and I decided we should go and have sushi for dinner. We stopped at this place. Big sign in the window said under new management. Looks hopeful. Went in the service is still beyond horrible. Took them 20 minutes to take your order, then they got the only entered half the order, then when they brought the other half of the order 20 more minutes later it was wrong, then discovered after waiting to eat until the second order was delivered that my order was also wrong. The waitress was very short with me. And then tried to make it up to the end with a free dessert. So this is my review of Sake Sushi, this restaurant has amazing food, they present it in a very beautiful way, but the service remains, even with under new management, horrible!!!!!!!! read more
