This store used to have such great customer service but ever since Roosevelt and Alex left, the sales associates are trash. The older Asian woman has no idea about the styles of bags they offer or have offered. She literally asked me if I bought my bag at the outlet when I came in to ask if they could send it to get cleaned. I was so offended because I have around 7 bags from that location, including the bag I came in with. If you don't know your past merchandise, please have the sense not to insult your clients. I will never be purchasing from YSL again, and if I do it will never be from the valleyfair location. Educate your employees please! read more

At the time, I was told by the employee who helped me (Chris) that there were no boxes for the purse that I bought but that he could have it sent to my home and that I could text him anytime for help. After 2.5 weeks had gone by, I still hadn't received the box, so I reached out to Chris and didn't get a response. Texted another time a few days later to follow up and no response. I then reached out to the YSL customer service email who said they could ask the store to get in contact with the me within 24-48 hours, and it's been 4 days since then, but nobody has contacted me still. I also tried following up with Chris for a third time today via text with no reply. I'm surprised and disappointed with the lack of customer service from YSL considering I spent 2.5k on a purse. I've always walked passed this boutique wanting to go inside but never did. Eventually I thought, screw it I'm going in! Let's talk about the exterior of the store, I really like the windows and sleek design. I like how you can see the bags from the outside, it really entices you to go in. I already had an idea of what I wanted as I watched a lot of reviews online. The sales associate that helped me was Vanessa. She was really great and easy to talk to. She showed me options and different colors of the bag I wanted - I did not feel like she was being pushy at all, she sorta let me do my thing and gave me advice when I asked her how she felt about certain products. So my first choice was to go to the Bloomingdales boutique since I had a stellar experience at the Louis Vuitton at Bloomingdales. Since I was going for exchanging purposes my only choice was this location since the Bloomingdales YSL cannot support exchanges. I was greeted by Sissa, the sales supervisor. She was helpful with my exchange process and was very nice. Great customer service from her! Vincent was also very friendly and informative. He was my primary helper during my second visit and assisted me in purchasing a bag. His excellent customer service made me feel comfortable in the store especially as a new customer. How can I see all of my options if I literally can't see it? Employees try to suggest shoes only on the lower shelves because they obviously can't reach up there either. - middle aged Asian male employee is unfriendly. No one greeted me upon entry, nor immediately asked if I was looking for anything specific to help assist me, and the employee that did approach me would walk away saying "okayyyyy". It was lame to see because you see all the other employees laughing and assisting their customers. Go to any other designer store. Great experience at this location! Had gone in to browse once or twice but this time I went in ready to purchase. I went shortly after opening and I was the only one there and was greeted right away. I enjoy the customer service and patience this store gave me. The person who helped me was named, "G," but I forgot his exact name (shame on me). He was really patient for my indecisive choices and was helpful in the process. As far as I know, I don't like being pushed around (*Cough* like the LV store next door) ,but G was calm, GENUINELY sweet, and knowledgable about the products. The store only allow a few people/party at a time, depending how many reps are available, but I highly prefer that way since I can browse more products without other customers in the way. Security guard was super friendly. My fiance went into YSL to pick out a new bag, I separated from her for a few minutes to use the bathroom. When I came back expecting to find her standing there with another one of those big silly packaging bags they do, she was empty handed. I asked here "Did they not have it and had to order it?" and she goes "No, the lady who helped me was super rude, she didn't even attempt to get the bag out that I wanted to see, and then when I said the strap was a little on the long side she took the bag back and said 'well maybe some day sweetie'. " First and foremost who treats another person this way, especially in high end retail, especially in silicon valley. Just because my fiance was a person of color she was looked down on and treated with extreme disrespect by this lady. I said lets go back inside and find another sales rep and see if they would like to do better and get the sale. Luckily we were paired up with Gi this time, and he was 100% opposite of this horrible lady. He asked us how we were doing, what we were up to, and mostly, he asked us what we wanted to see, and actually cared. He checked inventory and made sure it was the EXACT bag she wanted to see. Some fluffy leather thing with black on black (her and I both like more subtle designs, not about that gold logo life). He brought it out, she tried it on, and again the strap was a little long, but nothing we can't have a leather person can't fix. So we bought it. Some store associates are nice, but this store has a store manager with the worst customer service. Her name is Christine, she constantly lies and mislead customers. She sold me a Kate bag and lied to me that it was the last one in stock. She never once told me that it was a displayed bag. I should have known that it was a display bag since all the tags and care pamphlet were not included and the chain & tassel were not wrapped. Try to avoid having Christine help you with a purchase if you want an honest associate. Also, it's better to get your YSl bag at Bloomingdale's in this mall than at this store because you get a full refund if you want to exchange or return your bag. Meh, my first shopping experience here was kind of lackluster. I get that it's a personal 1:1 experience so there's almost always a line outside. However, when I come in, I would expect to have that 1:1 time I so patiently waited for. I had my eye on a certain bag for awhile and decided to treat myself and check it out in person before I actually made the purchase. Good thing I did this because I did NOT like it IRL but per my sales associate's suggestions, I did end up choosing between two recommendations. It was either a wearable wallet or a slightly larger bag that could fit more items but I'd need to get a separate wallet, lol. I ended up going with the larger bag and I've been really happy with it because I can wear it two ways and it fits what I need! I had to compromise on the wallet because they didn't have a silver emblem in the style I wanted :( My sales associate was patient and made great recommendations based on my feedback but I had to leave and come back so I had to get in line twice. The second time when I came back ready to make my purchase, he was busy so I waited until he finished up with a client. However, when it was my turn, he was juggling between me and another client who came in after me. The first time, a pretty blonde woman approached me, but she seemed very uninterested in making a sale. She answered my questions, but it was just that. She was attempting to look busy by straightening out a purse that was already straightened to begin with, all the while answering my questions without making eye contact with me. Okay, that's one way to lose commission. I understand you think it's cool to work at a high end designer store, but that's just it. You're JUST a sales associate. I was looking for a gift for myself from my parents for becoming a RN. We didn't get helped, only a "Welcome in!" and not even a "Thanks for stopping by" as we walked out. Sucks for the employees working that night because I would have bought something then. The recent time I came in, I was approached (without any judgment) by Marco. He was pretty knowledgeable about the brand. I can see why people think he's rude, but from my experience, he wasn't that bad. He talked me out of buying a purse in white (thank you!) and suckered me into an impulse buy. I told him to tell me random facts about the brand, which he smoothly had plenty to say. This store will get no sales from me. The 2 stars is for the nice security guard at the door. I recently called the store for a particular bag I was interested in for a Grad gift. And also to check and see if they have the color I wanted in stock. The phone call was informative, so I decided to request the bag for in-store pickup. And she mentioned that in- store purchases will have a 2 year standard warranty. I called her a week later only to find out that she did not fulfill my request. I'm not sure if my purchase was too low of a priority for her, so they don't get my business. They were helpful with a ysl handbag I bought at another boutique out of state. I realized I wasn't happy with the stitching. I never used it and brought it in the 30 day return window. It's an exclusive bag and they were able to ship in another one for me to compare. The manager Ben was very helpful. I ended up not getting the bag they shipped in and they happily took in my original bag for refund. Ben made sure this experience was not stressful for me and I really appreciate his effort. We stopped by around lunchtime on a weekday while on a drive down to Santa Cruz because we don't have a store in our hometown, and I needed to check the chain drop length on a bag I was considering. I was dressed very casually (like, imminently-heading-to-the-beach-with-kids casually, ripped jeans and flip flops and a beach tote) AND had my 4-year-old with me. The SA was polite and welcoming, and when I told her I was just doing research, she asked what she could pull out for me. I tried on a couple bags, and the SA had a cute chat with my daughter while I did so. She didn't hover, but she was quick to respond whenever I asked to see another item. I wish they'd had some of the non-neutral bag colors in stock so I could have seen them in-person, but I got the sizing info I needed and had a pleasant experience. read more

If I can give this location -10 stars I would because they deserve it. My husband and I were greeted by this Middle Aged Asian man today at about 3pm. I was looking at handbags and my husband was asking the sales associate if he can bring in his YSL money clip to get cleaned. He replied with a no. So I asked the sales associate what services do you offer then if you can't get a money clip cleaned? His response "do you own a YSL bag?" My husbands responds to him with, "actually quite a few" and I responded with "it doesn't matter if I own a bag or not, I'm asking a simple question as to what type of services does YSL offer for their products?" Then the sales associate goes "let me get your phone number so I can look up your profile?" I responded with "I'm not giving you my profile so you can see all the stuff I bought, I'm asking you a simple question and you don't want to answer it." The fact that he asked if I owned a YSL bag was rude, not appropriate and low class of him as it is none of his business whether someone owned a bag or not. If I was going in to buy my first bag, I would walk out and The whole experience would have been awful. Personally, I have plenty of YSL bags, but I would never come back to buy a bag from this location as these sales associate don't deserve any of the commission. It's kind of crazy that these associates don't even make that much money, yet they treat people like shit walking into the store. They act as if they own YSL LOL! Word of advice, what has happened to genuine sales associate that have manners and respect, and treat everyone equally?? Eh, they don't really care for their customers. I've had much better service at LV next door, mainly because when they say they'll so something, they actually get back to you about it. Multiple times i've come in here requesting items i already knew i wanted to purchase, put my name, phone number, and email down to be contacted when they arrived, and NEVER do i get contacted ever again. I always end up going elsewhere to make my purchases. They have no follow up. I specifically requested a pair of shoes in my size for my wedding, they said they didn't have it, but found it at another store and that they would get it sent over. Once it arrived, they would let me know. 2 weeks pass by and i don't hear from them, so I text the SA, who then said the store they ordered from had the wrong inventory count and that they were ordering from a different store now. Fine, but after that, I never heard from them again. I ended up purchasing the YSL shoes online. Every time i've entered the store they've been nice enough, they always say hi and ask if i need help, but overall, I'd say they're careless and lack the ability to build trust with their customers. read more

I asked to see a small envelope bag but they did not have the color I want and SA even did not want to order online or bother to ask me and looked at stock online for me. I told her that I was interested in that bag and told her to text me if it is available and never got response back from her. Went to the store up in SF with same kind of casual outfit and the guy SA up there was great. I am a fan of YSL handbags and was excited to recommend some to a friend who was looking to get a new handbag at this Valley Fair location. Upon walking in, the atmosphere was hostile and unwelcoming - it made me want to leave but stuck around to help my friend. The female Asian manager (Shishi) was VERY off-putting. She was very rude and had a terrible attitude. Maybe she thought we were just browsing and not going to purchase that day? Regardless it was extremely disappointing customer service esp for a manager. After the way she spoke to my friend and I, we were no longer interested in purchasing anything from this store...ever. If you are interested in purchasing a YSL bag, I recommend the SF location for a more pleasant shopping experience (which has way better reviews than this valley fair one anyways). Or easier yet... just walk next door to Nordstrom where they have a great selection of YSL and better service/atmosphere. There was another male SA who tried to be helpful and was nice. However my experience with the manager left such a bad impression that I have no plans to ever return to this location. Service was great the first few minutes yet everything went down hill. I wasn't the type of customers like to be bothered. The minute I walked in and walked to a purse, a sale representative approached me in a sec and kept selling multiple purses to me. I was fine even though I don't like that type of approach. After I tried two purses that she recommended, I didn't like them because they weren't what I was looking for. Since she was "helpful", I asked another purse I liked in the case and she started to give me faces. It was quiet unprofessional. Like any other Saint Laurent the customer service is amazing here. I have walked in a few times here without buying anything and the SA's here were super sweet each time. Sissa Wang remembered me from the first time I walked in, in search of some SL1 sunnies and was nice enough to get my number and keep in touch with me through text. I love when SA's go above and beyond with their customer service. I usually purchase my Saint Laurent from south coast plaza or retailers but Sissa's kindness was never forgotten. About a week ago my man was shopping for clothes and we decided to check out some Saint Laurent fits. Right when we walked in we were greeted by the manager and she brought us right to the men's clothing. Sissa appeared from the back shortly after and offered us champagne. Shopping and champagne is the best by the way. I enjoyed sipping my glass in the dressing room while the Mr. tried on several polos and jackets. Their varsity jackets are super cute btw. May have to cop his and hers matching jackets soon ;) I knew he was eyeing their shoes before too when we went to another SL store, so I asked Sissa to bring out a few pairs. They didn't have the black colored low top sneakers he wanted but we had her order some, as well as a black ysl polo he wanted that they also didn't have in his size. No worries, we're used to ordering and waiting 2 days and usually have no issues with that. He also looked at some wallets and decided on the black croc stamped one. He ended up walking out the store with a Saint Laurent shopping bag in his left hand and a buzzed girlfriend in his right. We had a blast shopping! This store is very underrated compared to their neighbor, LV, which had 20+ people waiting in line. There was nobody inside the store, so it's best to come on a weekday. Thank you, Christine, for helping me with my purchase! I spend a good 30 minutes because I wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the product before I left the store. Christine was super helpful and attentive, and guided me to a hidden room which had a massive 360 mirror that captured every angle while you're trying things on. This was my first time at YSL (I wanted to expand my bag collection) and it will be my last. My husband told me here to get a anniversary gift and I was greeted with a SA. I asked him if I could see the Sunset "top handle". He showed me the Medium one and told me it only comes in 1 size. I bought it thinking that was true. I went home and did some more research on the bad and found it it came in a smaller size!!! It's called sunset wallet on chain. So me and my husband came back 3 days later to do any exchange and meet the store manger (I think) he told me they only do exchange on bags equal or greater value. WTF! I told him it's not my fault your SA didn't know the product and I had to do my own research. In the end he did exchange for me and look unhappy like it was my fault, also telling me if anything happens to the bag it's not on them anymore. What kind of luxury brand says that.
