I found a bag I want to buy in online, the store doesn't support the purchase using my gift card and asked me to spend extra money through a credit card. I came in close to closing last night to bring in my purse for cleaning. Last Saturday a waiter spilled a container of ketchup on my recently purchased ysl purse. I got the bulk of it off but the smell of ketchup remained, as well as gunk that seeped its way into the threading (threading went from black to burgundy). I brought my purse in and met Kim. She is the definition of great customer service. She went as far as getting a needle to pick out the gunk from the threading, even to the point of her hand intermittently cramping. And to top it off, she wiped my purse down with their leather polish to eliminate the ketchup smell. Down to the details she managed to get my purse looking new again. My experiences at Saint Laurent have been nothing short of amazing but the customer service at this location was questionable. I purchased the men's court classic sneakers for my homegirl's birthday since the women's court classics were out of stock. I wanted to give her a tangible gift rather than a preloaded gift card or cash so I purchased these shoes so she could exchange the sneakers or receive store credit upon return. The receipt clearly states that customers can return for store credit or exchange the product within 10 days of purchase. I also filled out a card with my personal information so my friend could have a smooth transaction when returning the sneakers. My friend called to inquire about the return/exchange policy and the store director asked why I would purchase a men's shoe for a woman. I thought the questions she was asking were not only irrelevant but unnecessary as well. All customers should be able to purchase any product regardless of gender. read more

My friend and I came into Saint Laurent and everyone we encountered had amazing customer service. A gentleman at the entrance greeted us immediately, another gentleman walked around offering a glass of water for the customers. We weren't sure about making a purchase that same day, we actually just went inside to browse and we left. FASHIONISTAS BEWARE! Absolutely deplorable ethics. Do yourself a favor and order online or from a department store that offers returns, as this store does not. My boyfriend did some last-minute Christmas shopping here the night before Christmas Eve and purchased the Cabas handbag for me. After getting over my excitement, I quickly noticed that this bag was USED, worn and defective. There were no plastic coverings on the metal, and it was clearly not new; the metal on the feet was worn, the clasp and "Y" emblem were totally scratched up, and beyond that, the handle was sewn on crookedly. I was appalled that Erica, the Sales Associate that helped my boyfriend, would sell him a $3,000 bag in this condition! Imagine my shock when I called the next day and spoke with the Assistant Manager, Syreeta, who explained that they do not offer refunds (which must be specific to the store because that is not the case when you order from YSL's website). When I went on to tell her the situation, it sounded like she understood that we were sold a defective product, and assured me that when my boyfriend returned the next day, she would "take care of it". Well -- that was not at all the case. She apologized and acknowledged the bag was not in good condition, but could not offer a refund. This handbag was THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS- it should have been pristine. The whole experience has marred my love for the brand, and I don't want anything to do with this store. How can you, in good conscience, sell someone merchandise that is supposed to be a luxury item, and not do everything you can to make it right when you realize they received a shoddy product? I don't want another bag from you! Why force someone into owning something they don't want because you ruined the experience for them? Now we have to go through the pain of trying to dispute the charge... thanks for making what was supposed to be a beautiful Christmas gift such a nightmare! I came here with a friend about two weeks ago and from what I observe, they have very good customer service and know their stuff. This was right before the price increase so it was pretty crowded. I forgot her SA name, but she was such a sweetheart. My friend came away with a bag she wanted. Saint Laurent is classic chic without the Chanel price...well, not yet anyway. The store is clean, organized, and well stocked. I love the simple design. YSL is classy and goes well outfits day or night. It can be used to glam up or just on a casual day. I'm going to start with a disclaimer here: I LOVED the service the first time I came here. I was helped by two wonderful girls who were extremely nice ... but there are some things that really didn't work for me. So please take this into consideration that I am not bashing any sales associate in particular. First off, I love the YSL brand. It's clean, simple, and classy. It will really never go out of style. That being said, I went here to look for sunglasses since I lost my other pair. I was immediately drawn to their style and I was lucky enough to find one that fit my face. My problems came after. Now I might have been in a hurry (I really was the first time) and not noticed, but I put my sunglasses on the next day and they were completely and utterly crooked. To the point where I just couldn't save them. They were so crooked that they were falling off the right side of my face. I couldn't wear them. I JUST bought these! $300+ pair of sunglasses and....they're crooked? I took them back and the people who were working there were nice enough I suppose ... but their answers seemed a bit .. off to me. They tried fixing and said "well, this is as good as it's gonna get. it happens". ................ really? It happens? I just paid this store over $300 for a pair of good glasses and you tell me that I'm just going to have to live with it? That just doesn't seem fair to me. They brought me another pair and guess what? Those were crooked as well. Come on, YSL. I don't know if it's just this store or their sunglasses are not manufactured well, but my advice would be to STAY AWAY FROM BUYING GLASSES. It's unacceptable that they would even try and SELL these. I am SO disappointed as I love this brand, but this is something that I would NOT expect from a store like this with such a high reputation. People expect wonderful products if they pay high price for it. My sale rep Erica is very sweet and not pushy at all. I was given complimentary drinks as well. Overall, it was a great first shopping experience. I ended up taking a bag home within 20 minutes. Wandered into the store last Saturday with a friend, saw these silver leather boots in the mens section, didn't try them on, but had them on my mind all week after. I fell in love with them. Convinced myself that these were a shoe that I would not just wear, but keep forever...sort of an investment shoe...think male Carrie Bradshaw. And Bam! Had to have them. However, I felt that they could have probably used another individual on the floor since the lady who was helping me had her hands full with three different people. I've been to this store about 5 times in the past few weeks and every single sales associate has been nothing but extremely friendly and attentive, in the not-pushy way. My first visit was super quick and the subsequent visits were like a leisurely adventure in a white paradise. Kim, Christy, Bryan and Syreeta are simply the best. Even security guards are friendly. This location may seem small compared to the ones in Beverly Hills, but do not fret, just ask if they have something. Chances are, they have it in the back. Or they can order it for you. They're just the best YSL store ever. Also, I'm not a relative of anyone in the store. Lol. Just a great fan of these folks and their fantastic service. Plus, everything I've bought, from shoes, to basic tees all the way to my fabulous peacoat have been nothing but sheer perfection. My closet is about 90% YSL, so maybe I'm a bit partial. Went to YSL today to see if i could get the wallet i've had for two years fixed as the stitching for the card slots have been ripped for a good amount of time but never thought i could actually do something about it, but we were walking by the new place in SCP today and i said lets go look at wallets to my wife as mine was messed up! Instead of thinking we were going to get it repaired, they handed me a brand new wallet and we're so apologetic at what happened and told me next time anything happens definitely come in and see what they are able to do! I made my very first purchase of YSL at this location. I actually saw a cute French wallet at Nordstrom with my friend the other day and really wanted it. The logo on the wallet (at Nordstrom) was in silver, but I went to check out the website of YSL, they had it in gold! So I decided to drive all the way out to south coast to get the gold one. Customer service was good. I believe Andy helped me out and he was nice and polite. I love how the store is set up. The white and marble is so pretty! Like the contrast is just nice because a lot of the YSL items are mostly black. So I thought that the environment setup for the store was spot on. As for the French wallet I purchase. I like my wallet a lot but I'm not totally in love with it. When I was in the store and looking at the wallet, I had to ask the SA to bring out like 5 to 8 of the same wallet because after inspecting the items, I noticed craftmenship isn't great. The glue was not properly done or the stitching is off or something else is wrong. If your paying for an item that is a couple of hundred dollars, you would want it to be perfect right off the bat right? I finally found one that I thought was good after inspecting it. After a couple of days using my new wallet, I noticed that the stitching on the inside of the wallet is off a little. It's not completely straight. I have a lot of Louis Vuitton. I love Louis Vuitton a lot because I've been using their items for years. At least with Louis Vuitton, I don't seem to have any problems with it. It always seems new and perfect. (I don't know how their items are now, but before it's perfect) Comparing my Louis Vuitton and my YSL wallets, I can tell the difference in craftsmanship is not the same. Overall, my experience is good. Just disappointed in the craftsmanship. read more

I was at South Coast visiting my designer "friends" () and while I was in the Gucci store my husband comes in and says "Hey, you gotta go two doors down their stuff is nicer." He was referring to Saint Laurent and I just couldn't have agreed with him more. The only YSL I own is makeup (which is heavenly)but I figured I would go window shop for a little while and check out the bags. I always expect a high snooty factor when I walk into any of those stores especially when I have my three kids! I have to say though that as soon as we walked in we got sincere helpful attention. Carmen was the associate helping me and she was over the top gracious with me. She showed me many bags and even dealt with my husband as he sprinkled his opinion in there and asked for champagne! I was very straight forward, did not waste anyone time. I know exactly what I want, came in ask to see if they have a small wallet in a color that I wanted. They do have it in stock. I purchased it, everything was fast and nice. When I came home, open it up and was disappointed with the packaging. Nothing feel luxurious about it. I always shop at LV and LV have never disappointed me in anything, this is my first time at YSL store and already not wanna come back. Anyways, back to the wallet, they jam my wallet in a small box that didn't even fit my wallet. When I open up my shopping bag, the wallet was outside of the box already, yup, no ribbon or anything wrap around it. The wallet fell out of the box because it not even the right box for it. There's no price tag with it, not sure if the wallet has been return or not. For me, when I pay anything with full price, I expect to receive the whole stuffs that comes with it. Walked into YSL on Saturday afternoon around 5:30pm with my cousin after running some errands at South Coast Plaza. She had never stepped into the store because she mentioned she felt like she would be judged if she did. We walked in and shortly after we were greeted by a woman and asked if we needed help and replied "No thank you, just looking". We were impressed by the service; at first, until we walked around the store and the security guard was behind our every move making it obvious and uncomfortable. We heard a loud crowd and looked toward the shoes section and there was about 6 guys back there laughing, joking and of course buying some shoes. They seemed to be in their late 20s to mid 30s but they were being catered to because they were spending money on their shoe purchases, which is completely understandable. The part that completely made this is worse experience ever was when we continued to walk around the store and look at items one of the sales associates (Alexis) came and from half way across the store asked Fabian (the security guard whom was following our every move) to close and lock the front doors without reason while we were inside. As I immediately felt uncomfortable and racially profiled we left the store and we walked to Nordstrom but as we walked I thought to myself that was a really messed up thing to do. So I went back to get the sales associates name and the guards (whom I mentioned above), to my surprise when I walked back the doors were open, not locked and there were roughly twice as many shoppers in store than when I was there 15 minutes prior. The girl said it wasn't meant to make me feel uncomfortable or directed to us. She asked if she can get the manager and I replied "How is that going to help?". She stepped away and called the manager, when the manager came she asked what the issue was and I explained to her what happened. She mentioned the same thing as Alexis; that it was not meant to make us feel uncomfortable but simple because they didn't have enough sales associates on the floor. I explained to her "I could understand that, if there wasn't twice as many people right now in the store as there was when I was first here and the doors were wide open, while Fabian (the guard) is standing at the door and not following anyone step by step watching and harassing their every move". Honestly, I tried to understand the situation with all the crazy stuff that happens nowadays but I couldn't help but to feel racially profiled, humiliated and discriminated. I have never experienced this and feel bad for anyone who has, but I guess if they assume you have money the experience might differ. For a high end retailer to treat someone in that form and make their experience so uncomfortable shocks me and just want to vent and share my horrid experience! I wonder what the store policy is on when it is required to close the doors and should the guard watch you like a hawk following you from one end of the store to the other without reasoning... read more

I visited YSL in July 2015 to purchase shoes. I almost forgot to post this review, but since i wore my shoes this weekend again, why not. The store was very well lit and offered a lot of various selections and is located near Nordstroms in the South Coast Plaza mall. The sales associates were very friendly and not pushy (I like to shop at my own pace), but yet very attentive. They offered me drinks and told me to take my time trying on all the different shoes. When another lady came in to try on shoes and did not purchase anything, I did not hear anything negative about having to pull merchandise and putting it back. I really appreciate the level of service and the even the follow up note from associate that assisted me. TIPS: Make sure you are satisfied with your purchase because there is only a return policy within 10 days, which is very different from the Department stores like Neimans. I came here because the boutique and the Department stores often carry different colors of the same items that are exclusive. read more
