The Sails restaurant is one of the most classy restaurant I had to experience in Naples. The service is really close to what you see in a very good restaurant in France or Michelin star. The food is Mediterranean with a blend of Greek, French and Italian flavors. The restaurant is clean, the food is extra fresh. The oysters & clams are just delicious, difficult to find the same in Naples, usually more in Miami. The garlic shrimps are also amazingly prepared. The whole fish is also cooked with the skin and they do not put an heavy sauce on it like other restaurant, so you can appreciate the true flavor with olive oil and lemon, a délice. The wine selection is complete and the dinner again was excellent because of the 5 stars service. It was our first time and not the last. They have a nice terrace and I can't wait to try it. Most of the staff is from around the Mediterranean area, so I felt a bit like at home. One of the best of Naples. Period. read more

DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS HERE USING YOUR CREDIT CARD. My wife and I made a reservation using Open Table in December and the day of the reservation my wife came down with the flu. I cancelled the reservation by calling the restaurant and leaving a message on their voicemail since it was within 2 hours of the reservation. They charged my credit card $200. When I saw the charge, I called the Manager and left a message. I contested the charge. The credit card company said their policy is on their website. I then called the Owner and left a message. I did not get a return call. She did not return my call. The good news is that my firm owns 2 hotels in the area and we have indicated on our restaurant list that we "do not recommend Sails." We do recommend competitors within 100 feet of them very highly. A stupid ass decision not to pick up the phone will costs them hundreds of customers. I would give 0 stars but the software forces you to give 1 which they do not deserve. There are a lot of great choices in Naples. Choose one of them. read more

Sails is the best fine dining restaurant in Naples, hands down. It is my go to choice when entertaining out of town guests. It is pricey, but if you love great food, it's worth the splurge. As a local who has patronized this place for years, I can attest that you will get dishes of the highest quality ingredients and superb craftsmanship. But what stands out about Sails is its white-glove customer service. It is unmatched in town by a landslide and even rivals 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurants. Their cocktail menu is stellar. They often have incredible but low-key live music performers. Some of my favorite dishes are the crab and avocado, little neck clams with summer corn, lobster ravioli, and the truffle risotto. We had 5:45 dinner reservations made about a week prior. SERVICE: Impeccable. We were seated right away, water glasses filled and drink orders taken. Lauren was our server. She is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, as well as the fish offered in their "fresh market" section. Crumbs were immediately removed from the table as were dirty dishes and glasses. When we ordered a bottle of sparking water were were asked "Ice, chilled or room temperature?". Nice. Also classy is the fact that I had on a black dress so one of the employees immediately came over and changed out the white napkin for a black one without me needing to request it. BAR: Well made cosmo, blush and not too sweet. I'm learning to order it "light on everything but the vodka". Seems to do the trick! After dinner there were still seats at the bar so we sat there for a glass of wine. The stools are super comfy. FOOD: Outstanding. We began with the tomato salad which we split. It arrived already split in 2 dishes. This has to be the most beautiful tomato salad I have ever seen. And teeny tiny cucumber balls were part of this impressive salad. We then walked to the Fresh Market and chose a Dorade fish. It was 1.4 pounds, so $67, which we split. When it arrived in 2 dishes, the head and tail were already removed. Whew. It was cooked perfectly with a delicate sauce. Their Market has many types of fish and shellfish and they can weigh it right there so you know what you are paying for before actually ordering. The side of roasted carrots were amazing, with a bit of sweetness and spice. The potato purée was creamy. Both sides large enough to split for 2 people with no leftovers. ATMOSPHERE: Beautifully designed, classy but not stuffy, warm and welcoming. Even the chairs have back pillows which I appreciate as I am petite and having that pillow makes a huge comfort difference. Something to note: They automatically add a 20% tip to the bill, and that is noted on the menu so it's not a surprise when the bill comes. Which is not for the faint of heart. Ours was $285 After the tip. That included 2 martinis, 2 half carafes of wine, 1 salad, 1 fish entree, 2 sides and a bottle of sparkling water. This was such a disappointing experience. It started off great, the service was very attentive and the flavors of the first few dishes that I got were great although the octopus was slightly overcooked it still tasted good. The lobster ravioli was definitely my favorite thing that I got. In my opinion my boyfriend chose better courses than me (the scallops and risotto). The worst part of the night was the main course. When we ordered we both asked for the "wagyu tenderloin medium rare" but when the servers brought our dishes they said it was the "little joe tenderloin" which wasn't the one we had asked for. When we cut into our steaks, my boyfriend's was perfect but mine took forever to cut and was extremely well done. I've never seen a steak that overcooked it felt like I was getting a prank pulled on me. When I informed our waiter about it and the fact that they brought the wrong type of steak to begin with he just kept telling me to eat the steak while they made a new one for me. I didn't even take one bite of it because honestly why would I? Another waiter came over to apologize but then also started making excuses for the chef saying that he gets distracted sometimes. I understand getting distracted and that things happen but how did it even get on the plate in front of me? I thought it was common practice to at least check the temperature on meat before you send it out. The part that made this so much worse is that the service became noticeably worse after this. Our server only came back to clear our plates and barely said much when before he was coming to us multiple times and making sure we loved everything, our waters also all of a sudden weren't getting refilled. Honestly, even after they brought out the wagyu it wasn't very flavorful compared to every other time i've had wagyu. Dessert came and my boyfriend's again was so wonderful. I got the soufflé and it tasted good but the presentation was pretty messy. In case you're wondering, no, they didn't comp any of our meal or do anything other than bring me a new steak cooked how I had asked for to try to make up for it, which is the bare minimum and pretty expected. I'm not the type of person to expect them to comp a portion of the bill but I was just surprised, anytime else I've been in a situation like this the restaurant has always comped something without me even bringing it up. If I had to rate the service and food separately here, I would say service was 5 stars and food was 4 stars. I went to dinner here for my birthday, made an early reservation and was pretty much the only person in the restaurant until almost the end of my meal. I had a nice and friendly server who went out of his way to provide recommendations and let me know about my options with the different pre-fix menus. I should not have listened to him though on the lobster recommendation because I think he steered me towards a bad choice. Instead of the regular lobster, he suggested a lobster that was special that they were offering. Quite the opposite of what the waiter had advertised (buttery and sweet), the lobster meat was tough and tasteless. And the portion was significantly smaller than the meat you would get from a whole lobster. I did not like my appetizer, which was crab with avocado, it looks good, but is served very cold which is not appetizing and does not taste good. Also did not like the amuse bouche, which was a single mussel, which was so dried out and flavorless. My pasta dish was the most delicious thing I ate that night. The wild mushrooms and sauce was to die for and you could tell the pasta was made fresh. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was good and I enjoyed that along with the complimentary espresso martini they brought for my birthday, which was a nice gesture. The wine was great as well. I think I may have have ordered wrong on this trip, due to some items being hit or miss, but would be willing to give them another shot. This place was perfect. COVID quarantine aside, it has been a long time since I had a meal this good. Aside from the food, the staff is really on the spot, with tremendous knowledge about the menu, the drinks and the wine they have have on offer. The bartender was an exceptional mixologist, but also was incredibly knowledgable about the food, and took us through the menu before we sat down. The head waiter for the evening was very much on top of things, although service here is a team effort comprised of equally as knowledgable and personable staff. The wine list is comprehensive and well thought-out with many unique selections. We had a stunning combination of their signature beef tar tar, unique take on a greek salad, a fresh whole Florida Hogfish (wood grilled with a lemon butter sauce on the side) and great sides (their potatoes au gratin and mushrooms are to die for). The fish is as fresh as can be and are displayed "fish market"-style, on ice, as you walk in. Feel free to trust your server, or get up and choose the best whole fish that you'd like. To finish it off, the Grand Mariner soufflé was one of the best I've ever had. Special hats off to the team of Serbian servers who treated us so well throughout the night. If this is what hospitality is like in Serbia, I'm booking a flight tomorrow. It was a truly memorable meal and I will be back next time I'm in Naples. read more

I have lived in Naples for 14 years and have come to expect more from a dining experience. Sails failed on all fronts. I like to be objective so here we go: Arrived on time and no one at door to meet us. We had to walk in to busy restaurant and ask bartender who checks us in. The food, for example our ravioli dish, was cold and some were warm. Like it was microwaved. Terrible. My steak was burnt on outside. Tasted charred not seasoned. Portions were tiny. Shrimp tasted fishy and not in a good way. Oysters were about the size of a silver dollar coin. Small. Waiter was rushed. I had to call him for him from another waiter to get another cocktail for my family. For my gin n tonic they put a glass of gin in front of me and a small bottle of tonic for me to pour myself. When I asked for something to stir it with, the manager told me they don't like to use straws. What?? Ok. Environment. But I had no spoon so I had to use my unused knife to stir my cocktail. I kid you not!! The manager came around and asked how dinner was. I told him these objective findings. Instead of saying I am so sorry, he explained them away. That was how ravioli supposed to be served,,,, what!? And the charring on my steak was normal. I don't think so. I'm 55yo. I've been to nice restaurants. This is not one of them. My bill for 7 of us was $1,400. I don't mind paying for good food. THIS WAS NOT IT! Oh. I didn't mention the outdoor seating and the loud noise from the traffic. They should have buffered that with plants, hedges. Anything. NOPE. There are way too many great options in Naples on 5th ave and 3rd street. This isn't one of them. Mark my words. Perhaps the worst dinner ever. We thought we would try the sunset dinner option, a 3 course deal before 5. Entree courses were not what we're shown on the website (choice of 3), then they were "out" of one of them at 5:05pm with no substitute offered. So I got the fish, a type I had not heard of before that was supposed to be similar to Branzino. It came to the table smelling terrible, not a good start. It was virtually inedible. Greasy, tough, bony, fishy. Both couples Brought nice bottles of wine. Corkage fee was an absurd $75 not including the added 22% gratuity raising it to a whopping $91. Staff was arrogant and indifferent to the fact that 3 of us left our disgusting fish entree practically untouched. Tab was $588 for the four of us and we brought our own two bottles of wine. Now that I think about it, it was THE worst dinner out and we go out for dinner all the time. Never again!!! read more

Champagne Brunch was the best dining experience of MY LIFE. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a whim without a reservation and were able to get in at the bar (actually a preference for us.) We started out with some mimosas while we were served (free) fresh cooked pastries. We then went into the unlimited course brunch, carefully curated. Everything was phenomenal, creative, and full of flavor. The highlight for me (besides the amazing price, $95 a person UNLIMITED) was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in Southwest Florida!!!! My husband took me for my birthday brunch.My birthday was in January, that's how popular this place is! It's luxury from start to finish. 95 a person for unlimited drinks and food and that's a steal because they treat you like royalty. Outside they have mimosas, bloody Marys, and champagne so you can start while you are waiting for your table. They also had a saxophone player. I had the tuna tartare, steak sandwich, lemon crepe, oysters, french toast, and chocolate gateau. The steak sandwich was OUTSTANDING. Everything was delicious but that and the french toast were standouts. The service, food, and experience were all around fantastic. Sails blew every other restaurant I've been to in Naples out of the water. It's probably in my top 5 greatest restaurant experiences of all time. It was a Saturday night during peak season, so 5th Ave was packed. After 45 minutes of wandering up and down and finding no spots at any of the bars, I came here and found spots at the bar. I was quickly shooed away by the hostess because they were seating customers with reservations at the bar. The hostess was very warm and polite about it, and she found another spot at the bar for me where I could sit down right away. I asked for a drink list from one of the bartenders. I think the cocktail list was 7 pages long, longer than any other cocktail list I've remembered seeing. I had difficulty picking something from the huge list, so I went with some kind of rum concoction (pictured). It took a while for the drink to materialize. When it finally did, the reason for the wait was clear; the drink looked absolutely beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. Clearly there had been some real craft in making the drink. Very strong start to the meal. I started with their baby greens salad. When I got it, it looked somewhat disappointing. The picture I took of it doesn't really do it any justice because this salad was GREAT. The dressing was delicious, I loved the greens, and the goat cheese Stracciatella (I've never seen that before) was unique and very enjoyable. I ordered the tuna as my entree. Unlike the salad, this dish "looked the part." It was presented beautifully with the foie gras on top (see picture). It was seared to a perfect rare and paired with a delicious sauce. The tuna combined with the foie gras made for a delicious dish. It may have been the best tuna entree I've ever ordered. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding recommended by the bartender and a chocolate martini. The toffee pudding came atop a bed of caramel with some ice cream on top. It was the best toffee pudding I've ever had. The chocolate martini was also great - it was different than other chocolate martinis I've tried, but in a good way. Great way to end the meal. Service was amazing. I'm sure I'm butchering the spelling of her name but the bartender Byanna was so nice, welcoming, and spot on with her recommendations. Finally the soufflé would've won a baking competition, I'm serious. If clouds came in chocolate they'd taste like this. Ice cream is homemade and it's the first time I could tell! Place had decent reviews which is why I tried it out. For starters it is ridiculously overpriced. One old fashion was over $40. Food is decent but the portions are terrible. Service was the biggest complaint I had, the staff treats you like you're ordering a milkshake from McDonald's. After complaining to a friend of mine who's a reputable contractor, I was informed the owner is building another restaurant called "butcher" and he has a lien on property from 4 different contractors that he has outright refused to pay for their work. DISCLAIMER: Four star review is an average of our three visits to this restaurant over the past year. Overall impression is either they're trying to get back up to speed after Hurricane Ian and having some growing pains, or that the quality is simply going downhill and the restaurant is not what it used to be. I hope it's the former. I suspect it's the latter. First visit: February-ish 2022. They weren't super busy that night, and we sat outside. The server was pleasant, attentive, gave off the impression of trying to provide a luxurious experience without being overbearing. We got word that perhaps Michelin would be in the neighborhood sometime soon (spoiler alert: Michelin never came to the West Coast, reportedly), and that they were at the top of their game. Options then were either a prix fixe of three (larger) dishes or four (smaller) dishes, or a tasting menu. My wife and I took some time to come up with eight separate dishes for us to share, and it was an awesome experience. Courses were brought out and spaced appropriately, with a logical progression of temperatures, flavors, and sumptuousness. I can still taste the mushroom sauce that came with the wagyu. The drinks were excellent. I sang this place's praises to friends and family, and promised to return soon. FIVE STARS! Second visit: Return we did, in the wake of a generational hurricane that decimated parts of Southwest Florida. We were finally able to get out to eat, and decided to have a little celebration by indulging at this very expensive but worthy place. Sitting outside wasn't an option as there were still clouds of sand, dust, debris hanging over this part of Naples, so we agreed to dine inside. We were seated at the edge of the first indoor space and quickly had a sinking feeling that our first experience here wouldn't be repeated. The service felt lackluster, uninspired, and, honestly bored...like he was over being a server. Drinks were still good. Food seemed to come out haphazardly, often 2 or 3 dishes in rapid succession, without any nuance to the timing or combinations. Whatever was recently cooked was coming out. It felt like they were just checking the boxes to get us out the door. Four stars. Last visit: High season, now with my in-laws brought along for a special occasion. We sat inside again, this time placed in the second of their indoor spaces. Right next to the kitchen. Right next to the servers' path. So we had foot traffic inches away from us all night long, smoke in our faces, heat all over our bodies, and deafening noise of a busy kitchen that forced us to yell all night just to be heard. By this visit, they also did away with their previous menu options. No more do you have a more expanded menu to order numerous options for a prix fixe. You pick three. This gives you larger portions, but less variety. Between the four of us we still got to sample a bunch. My feeling was that the mains are now the focus, as these were very decent. Still having the first and second courses on their menu seemed almost perfunctory--sure, they were there and you can order them, but they were more superficial in flavor and execution now. Bland. Almost sad. The La Croix flavor versions of what they had once been. On top of the food declining, the cocktails also seemed to have taken several steps back. My martini was all vermouth, as was my dinnermate's Manhattan. The twist on my martini was a lemon wedge on the rim. I almost laughed when it came out. On top of the clunky food and drinks NOT being worthy of their hefty pricetags, our service left much to be desired. Server had to be called over multiple times, and several incorrect dishes were brought. A side came out with our first course. We were comped, reassuringly, but I'd rather just have the food we ordered show up, instead of having to uncomfortably, repeatedly, politely point out their mistakes. 2.5 stars. Sadface emoji. My gut tells me that the executive chef and manager may have lost their way. Perhaps they're phoning it in until Michelin comes back to the area, at which point they'll up their game. Are they not capable of maintaining service on a busy night? Maybe good help is becoming progressively more hard to find? Hopefully they're not just giving up and resting on their laurels, letting their reputation fill their seats instead of their product. Every subsequent visit was increasingly disappointing, and I don't think I'll be back for awhile...if at all. read more

I searched the internet to find the best chocolate soufflé in Naples.. boom, Sails! hands down. But it ended up it was not the dessert that fulfilled my dreams, it was the way the staff made us feel. Yes, the soufflé was spectacular- the three course prix fix menu exceeded our expectations, but EVERYONE worked together to make sure our dining experience was wonderful! I was really impressed with this place from start to finish. They offer a 4 course chef's tasting & since it was our first time, we decided to go for it because it's a great way to explore a large portion of the menu. For our first course, I elected the tuna tartare and my wife got the hamachi crudo. The tuna was quite good & mixed well with the avocado and different accoutrements. The hamachi had a really nice spicy to it which offset nicely with the melon side. Both were nice. The hamachi was better. For the second course, my wife got the lobster ravioli and I got the grilled octopus. The ravioli came with a surprisingly large lobster portion and the ravioli itself was tender and buttery. The octopus came with a bean and bacon mix with a couple fried anchovies on the side. Lots of big flavors here, but they worked pretty well together. Once again, can't go wrong with either, but the lobster was a little bit better. For the main, I elected for the wagyu steak which involves an upcharge. My wife got the foie gras tuna dish. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and was nice and tender. It was a nice steak. Not the best steak I've ever had by any stretch, but plenty satisfying nonetheless. My wife's dish was very unique. It was basically several tuna filets with nicely seared foie on top. It had a black truffle sauce and some very strongly flavored grilled onions. This was an intense dish. Very, very rich. Not for the faint of heart. My wife loved it. I'd call the entrees a tie. Finally came the desserts. I got the sticky toffee pudding. My wife got the chocolate dish. To me the toffee dish was the star of the meal. It came served on a bed of caramel and had a generous portion of vanilla ice cream on top. It's really a lot of things I really like in a dessert rolled into a single dish. It was superb. Can't recommend highly enough. Get it! My wife's chocolate dish was fine, but I'm not the one to fairly assess it because I don't like chocolate. The toffee was the big winner here. The service was fine. They give you pretty lengthy breaks between courses, which can be both a good & bad thing. It was somewhat expensive, but the food lived up to the price point. We would definitely come back for future special occasions. read more

I was skeptical enjoying dinner here given the average 3.5 stars by my fellow yelpers and scoped out the menu in advance to avoid making dinner the equivalent of a mortgage payment... I was pleasantly surprised at how Sails differentiated themselves by offering superior service, sourcing fish from the Med and meats from Australia (I still do think the seafood from the gulf and American or Japanese beef is superior to Australian). We received a warm welcome on a Monday night and was seated outside. We walked past the seafood counter and took a glimpse of the fresh fish/shrimp/crab and the price/lb. Started with cocktails and they were carefully crafted and so delicious. Now... the show and dance of seafood parade and the up-selling. Very informative and I ended selecting the Grilled Dorade (this was ok. I still prefer black cod or Chilean sea bass). The bread service offered a choice of Baguette, Wheat bread and Asiago bread. Asiago is the way to go. I also asked for butter even though olive oil was recommended. I tried both and still preferred their softened butter. We split the tomato salt salad to start and this was packed with flavor with heirloom tomatoes and Feta cheese from France... so good... I passed on the soufflé and selected the hazelnut gateaux and this was small but rich with chocolate-y/nutty flavor.... amazing. Can't wait to try the scallops and Truffle rice next time! read more

My wife and I frequented this restaurant for the first time for her birthday. We are in town for the week and decided that we wanted to have a nice dinner to celebrate. I must say that we left truly amazed at the service and quality of the establishment. The server was extremely attentive, and we were certainly pampered throughout the experience. We decided to do a three course prefix menu in addition to ordering some drinks and an additional appetizer. Every course was carefully thought of an executed as well as the timing of each. The was quiet and delightful. Overall, you will not find a restaurant with more spectacular service and a truly white love experience. It was a memorable birthday from my wife and we will certainly be back to celebrate next year! read more
