NEVER AGAIN I went to Sails @sailsrestaurantnaples @sailsnaples expecting a refined, high-end dining experience and instead walked away with one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in Naples. For a restaurant that markets itself as premier and boasts a 5-star rating, this was deeply disappointing. When I arrived, there were only about five guests seated at a bar that holds roughly 30 - so the staff was far from overwhelmed. Despite this, the service was inattentive and unpolished from the start. My server Emery never introduced himself, nor did he ask my name. When I asked about their multi-course versus à la carte dining concept, he offered little explanation, forcing me to ask multiple follow-up questions that should have been part of a standard introduction. I ordered an Old Fashioned and specifically asked if it came with Luxardo cherries. I was told yes - but when the drink arrived, there were none. I had to point this out for it to be corrected. No placemat was provided, and the silverware was placed directly on the bar surface, which is far from sanitary. I had to request cocktail napkins just to rest my utensils on. When asking for recommendations and clarification on menu items, the interaction felt like pulling teeth. There was zero guidance or enthusiasm - something most servers on 5th Ave do well at. I eventually ordered the chicken, expecting something special for $42. What arrived was an ordinary chicken breast with half a wing attached, served with broccolini and a house-made chicken fennel sausage. Nothing memorable, unique, or remotely worthy of the price. No dessert was offered, no check-in on how the meal was, and no attempt to enhance the experience. I finally asked for the bill and was told that gratuity was automatically included. When I asked if it was 20%, the answer was yes - which felt very unusual for a solo diner, as this is typically reserved for larger parties. There was no thank you and no "hope to see you again." For a restaurant of this caliber and reputation, this experience was unacceptable. Sails has serious improvements to make in both service and execution. Disappointing from start to finish. read more

Probably the best restaurant I have ever been to in the entirety of the Florida region. Here's why: 10/10 service. Our server was really friendly, personable, and he was extremely knowledgable on all of the drinks, wine, and food. Not only did he explain wine recommendations to detail, but he was honest about his food opinions which we really appreciated. 10/10 food. They know what they are doing here. The truffle on top of the risotto-- amazing. We came on Christmas Day, so it was a set menu with options of 3 choices, dessert included. I got some crab appetizer (AMAZING) and the trout or some fish dish they had available at the time (also amazing). We got 3 different desserts, all amazing and not too sweet (if you know you know). The space inside is also beautiful with a nice, large bar. If you like fine dining, this is the spot to go to! read more

The service here is absolutely unparalleled!! As a foodie, I have to say that the food here is always excellent, but the service is what makes this restaurant a 10/10. Yet another great meal at one of our very favorite restaurants. Dining at Sails has become an annual tradition on our February visit. Awesome fish although all of their food is sooo tasty; Branzino, Truffle/Egg Yolk Raviolo, Salmon Crudo, Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Chocolate Soufflé, Oystas, Cheese Soufflé,... all excellent. This restaurant is fantastic at every turn. From the incredible service to the delicious food. We got the lobster ravioli and Dover Sole, both incredible but the stand out was the Sole. Most wonderful dinner at Sails! First off, the service is above and beyond from every person who stopped by. We started with the tuna tartare - and let tell you this - this was so good we immediately ordered another one. Next up was wooded grilled octopus, this was so flavorful and delicious. We also had the linguini with clams and nori - this had more of a thai vibe than Italian and was so you unique and different -- a hit again at the table! We truly loved everything and wanted to have dessert but had no room. Loved sitting outside with some nice heaters on a still warmish night. This is a great spot for a celebration, a date night - the food is so fresh and seafood is brought in daily. Loved every minute! read more

My 3 Star Rating is relative to the price. Was it bad? No, it was a solid meal with very good service and ambiance. But given the very high prices and frankly very good reputation I was expecting a lot more. I was hoping for meals on par with my favorite places in town and it fell in the good but not great category. I'll go back at some point and give another try and if it's better I'll adjust the rating. But for now, just a middling 3. read more

After an unfortunate incident with showing up to a reservation to another restaurant and it being closed, we decided upon Sails instead. We are from out of town (Cincinnati) and wanted one night of fantastic food and service, and they gave us just that. We tried to call to make a last minute reservation and they didn't answer... but they CALLED US BACK! What restaurants even do that?! I knew immediately we had made the right choice. They actually care about their patrons. It's one thing to have excellent food, but to go above and beyond in the service area is what sets them apart. We were sat at the gorgeous marble bar. Our server was no less than excellent. We started dinner with cocktails and the reposado espresso martini is easily in my top 5 of all time. All of our food was delicious and presented beautifully. Every dish was coursed out perfectly and served to us. The wine suggestion was on point. The fig liquor was the icing on the cake at the end of dinner with our chocolate soufflé. This restaurant deserves praise. Nowadays, if I'm going to spend $500 on dinner, this is exactly what I expect from the place I choose. We felt so welcomed and had the best time. Thanks so much for a fantastic evening and saving the night for us. We will ABSOLUTELY be back the next time we travel to Naples. read more

I want to share my truly enjoyable and memorable evening at Sails. Our server Andara was outstanding. Her menu and wine recommendations were spot on. Andara's service reflected, and reminded me of, the gold standards that the service staff at Ritz Carlton's are trained on. The rest of the staff were very attentive, and provided a high level of detailed service. My wife stated to me her Waygu tenderloin was the best she has ever had. I agree, our Wagyu tenderloins were epic! Prepared and seasoned perfectly! Also, the surprise of the night was Sails risotto. It was the best I've ever had! We both had the sticky toffee pudding. We were in heaven with the flavor. Additionally, both of your managers gave us a very warm welcome and a fond farewell. I am making a return trip to Naples soon so we can experience Sails legendary Sunday brunch. read more

My daughter just came back and got upcharged 150.00 for "WAGYU" beef... she has dragged me there several times .. loving the attention from servers.. This restaurant surprised me. When I learned it was a prix-fixe menu, I got nervous since I don't care for those type of restaurant menus but this place is a bit different. I would describe it more of a a-la carte prix-fixe menu. While you do have to choose 3 courses, you can choose which items you want for those 3. You can even choose more items than just 3 but obviously you would be paying extra. I had Caviar to start which comes in a HUGE metal clam for presentation, and then followed by the lobster ravioli and then the organic chicken for my main meal. I've lived in Naples for four years and had never been to Sails, so I was really looking forward to finally trying it after hearing so many wonderful things. Unfortunately, I left very disappointed. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm (it felt like the air conditioning wasn't working), and it was so dark at our table that we could barely read the menus. What bothered me most, though, were the black fruit flies constantly landing in our food. It was hard to relax or enjoy the meal with that going on. When I went to the restroom, it was dirty and there was no toilet paper--definitely not what you would expect from a high-end restaurant at this price point. To be fair, our server was excellent and the food itself was good when I could get around the fruit flies. But overall, between the heat, the darkness, the flies, and the bathroom situation, it was not the experience I was hoping for, and I wouldn't go back given the cost. read more

I had scallops. Everything is a la carte. I had the roasted vegetables although I believe the waiter forgot them and arrived almost 10 minutes after serving the table. The scallops had a nice flavor. The scallops portion was quite small ( 3 scallops about the size of 4 quarters each.) The sauce that came with the scallops was very tasty. The roasted vegetables were quite delicious. The other dish was linguine with crab. Reasonably sized portion and had a nice zesty flavor. The cocktails were great. We had "The Pirate" and a spritzer. Quite good. The service was exceptional. The waiter was very friendly and professional. The ambience was classy. Overall, it was a fancy venue albeit a bit overpriced. read more

I got the snapper and I believe they upcharged me for a special market fish? It was fine. Nothing crazy. My husband got the tuna for $70 which was ridiculously small, cold, dry, and not fresh at all. DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS HERE USING YOUR CREDIT CARD. My wife and I made a reservation using Open Table in December and the day of the reservation my wife came down with the flu. I cancelled the reservation by calling the restaurant and leaving a message on their voicemail since it was within 2 hours of the reservation. They charged my credit card $200. When I saw the charge, I called the Manager and left a message. I contested the charge. The credit card company said their policy is on their website. I then called the Owner and left a message. I did not get a return call. She did not return my call. The good news is that my firm owns 2 hotels in the area and we have indicated on our restaurant list that we "do not recommend Sails." We do recommend competitors within 100 feet of them very highly. A stupid ass decision not to pick up the phone will costs them hundreds of customers. I would give 0 stars but the software forces you to give 1 which they do not deserve. There are a lot of great choices in Naples. Choose one of them. read more

This was a really fun experience. Just as an fyi... If you have a reservation you can get there a little early and sip on some drinks while you wait for your table. You get two hours to eat and I was a little worried at the start that I would not get through all my courses before time was up. Or started out slow and I only had an appetizer 30 min in. After that they picked up the pace and I was completely stuffed by the end. I tried the avacado stuffed with crab, pork belly, tiger prawn, bronzino, and a souffle. They were all excellent. I really liked the crispy pork belly. It wasn't all fat like I tend to find at other restaurants. I believe the waiter said that it came from Belgium.
