On Sunday we had dinner at this restaurant. It was my husband and mine first time. We met my brother, sister in law and sister for a Christmas celebration. From the greeting of the hostess, to our friendly server Vicki and the young male server who agreed to be temp. photographer, our experience was superb. Fantastic atmosphere. Music almost every night of the week, a water and sunset view, and the staff I have encountered have been excellent (especially Kerry the bartender!). Food is a bit pricey, which is why I can't give this place a 5 rating. I'd say you're paying a markup of about 20% for the view and atmosphere. Still, the meals I've had were very good. Wednesday is lobster night and my lobster tails were delicious. (Note that the twin lobster meal is a regular menu item that is discounted a little more than 10% on this night.) The best thing about Sailor's Return is the nightly live music action, especially Fridays and Saturdays. If you're not from Stuart, you need to know that they roll up the sidewalks at 9. There is NO live music to be found after 9 (and I'm usually just getting started at 9). SR is the exception. Weekend artists are allowed to play until 11 and they get some pretty good performers in. With this comes a mixed crowd, some townies and some country club folks, and often there's a birthday or wedding being celebrated. Plenty of dancing ensues and it's not hard to have fun here. There's an outdoor bar, an indoor bar, plus outdoor and indoor dining as well. SR is adjacent to the Sunset Bay marina - aptly named because you have a nice water view and you can see the sunset across the St. Lucie River. Complimentary valet parking is available. Use it because the lot is tiny. read more

My family and I were seated outside where we thought we would get hit with some rain that was coming down but it was completely covered and we were dry! We also got a nice view of the sunset. The bread they bring to the table was better than I expected! All entrees were so unique and delicious! The coconut crusted snapper made me skeptical but I definitely am happy that I got it. My mom got the swordfish special that was cooked perfectly and made her very happy. My dad ordered the chicken Milanese which pleasantly surprised him as well. Was coated perfectly...not too oily and not too dry! Dessert was also great. We tried the key lime pie and chocolate creme brûlée. The key lime was great! Nice consistency with the custard and the crust was amazing. The chocolate creme brûlée had a hint of orange which tastes better than it sounds! My husband and I have eaten here twice over our stay in Port st Lucie. It was by far the best restaurant we have eaten at on the treasure coast. Omar loved the short ribs and scallops and I had their crab cakes and Cobb salad. The food was delicious from the warm rolls to the amazing Chocolate Ganache dessert. No idea why this place has only 3.5 stars. To top it off all the staff from the valet to the servers are extremely friendly and welcoming. One of the best restaurant locations in Stuart! They have a lot to offer. Good food, good scenery, and some nightlife. Definitely recommend! The restaurant is located in the downtown Stuart on the water and beside a boat Marina. They have lots of seating both inside and outside. The outside seating is great because they have a covered but open area, where you can still enjoy a beautiful day, get a breeze, and stay out of the sun all while being able to enjoy the scenery. The restaurant has a casual feel, but it's also very nice inside. The service is good. Valet parking if you desire. The servers are friendly and have done a good job even when they are busy. The food is very good. They have GREAT fish tacos (they rotate between Mahi and Salmon). That's my go to. I've had others food here and for the most part it's been very good. On a few different occasions their chicken (chicken cordon bleu and chicken sandwiches) have been overcooked and tough, but otherwise the food is good. Weekend nights are also fun here. They have live music. The bands are typically very good and play for a while. They have two bars, one outside and one inside. The place is always pretty busy especially during season. It's not a young crowd that frequents here, but it's a fun crowd. The downer here is they have to stop the music at 11pm due to the city's noise ordnance. read more

Stopped by here while I was in Stuart, FL and food was great. However, I thought the food is a little bit on the pricy side. I started off with a special they had for the evening which was a Belgian endive salad topped with blue cheese and toasted almonds dressed in a champagne vinaigrette. It was tasty but it cost $10 for a small side salad. I also ordered a portabella mushroom cap topped with crab and swiss cheese. This dish was amazing! Had dinner there last week. Once our server found out we weren't ordering alcohol, he was much less attentive. My wife has some health issues with allergies. My wife ordered tHeir scallops.. whAt came from the kitchen waS a pile of potatoes and only four scallops. $32.00 for 4=scallops? Robbery. What a great location! Right on the river underneath the Roosevelt bridge in Stuart. Great indoor and outdoor dining, fun and lively bands at night and the view is outstanding. Dolphin and manatee have even been known to swim up for a visit! Come by boat or drive up but parking is limited. Valet available for cars. read more

As I was using the restroom my friend mentioned we really wanted to try this restaurant due to yelp suggestions and that we were out of town.
