People were sitting at the bar, laughing/joking, working on their computers, and talking about music. It seems like this place has a great regular crowd--I was happy to observe and be apart of the environment. Jenny was our kava queen (bartender?) and was such a joy! Super knowledgeable and kind. She's a good little hooper too! It had been a while since we had kava but I feel like this time around was better for sure. Kava is definitely a bitter drink but there are ways to make it better. (In the photo it shows the starter kava with an orange slice.) We also got little s'mores kava shots which were super yummy! Only a little tail end of the bitterness but not much at all. I ordered the kava mix that has apple juice in it (I forgot the name, I apologize) which was pretty great too. At the end, make sure to throw a little water on the bottom to get the rest of the sediment/good stuff! Overall this was a cool experience. I definitely felt more relaxed and the corners of my mouth were numbed/tingly. Make sure you hydrate and don't be shy to ask what's what about kava. Enjoy!

Plenty of parking nearby, whether street, an empty field, or a lot around the corner. The pizza vendor near the front was our first stop and it was pretty damn tasty! Lots of seating and tables for people to sit and enjoy the music, plus a bar full of craft beers. Due to my bad knee, this is where I ended up sitting and the view was great. My bartender Tom was fast, efficient, friendly, and guided me toward a new sour I'd never tried before but loved.

It was a little North of us, so we made a weekend of it. We got to the venue a little early. It was a quick entry. Even though we were early it was a older crowd so alot of smart people were early too and grabbed the assortment of chairs. But it gave us a chance to wander a round a little bit. Its a great spot, it really feels like you're in a buddy's back yard. We got our drinks and a pretty good spot on the let side. The band was solid, and the acoustics of the place didn't hurt the sound at all. It was a nice summer night and both bands killed it. The price was right too, from the entry to the drinks. Add in a cool name and you got a place that we will come up to again for a solid band.

The birthday girl had the short rib grilled cheese which looked exactly like the pictures. She managed to eat the whole thing. I had the steamed clams. The presentation was totally unexpected. It had a pizza dough topper that was puffed up with the clams, linguica & broth nice and steamy underneath. It was an amazing preparation and the dough helped tame some of the spiciness from the linguica. We all said we would come back.
