Currant event

This was my first time at the District Table and I was impressed! They have a really nice entrance with a lot of vegetation and lighting. Inside is an open space. This place supposedly used to be a bank so their banquet room is the vault of the bank converted into private dining for events! Our server was Collin and he was what I'd consider a "polished server" his service and performance was outstanding! Started off with drinks. I got the "Currant event" and that was probably one of the strongest drinks I've ever had. It was good-ish but the strength and salty combo made it unenjoyable. Then placed a few apps. Their homemade bread served with a regular butter and a garlic herb butter. We also got the deviled eggs that we garnished with caviar they were also delicious. For the entree I tried their famous sweet tea fried chicken thats served with a huge biscuit and mac & cheese. For dessert we got the carrot cake and the peanut butter pie. I'm not a fan of carrot cake, but that was one of the best I've ever tried. 10/10 will be dack!

I have been going to the district table for years. They always bring it with a new rotating menu while keeping the staples for everyone to enjoy. We tried to mix it up as we usually would go for the top two favorites of fried chicken and the cheeseburger (2 very best items on the menu) with the Erika's pie and the new sweet potato. The pizza was delicious and we ate the whole thing - an elevated take on a classic Hawaiian pie complete with jalapeños, cilantro, and pineapple: solid 8/10, thin crust but with enough toppings to go around. However, the sweet potato had an identity crisis it seemed: bruleed top which gave it a nice texture but very strange finish. The sweet potato was left in a pool of beef broth consommé or au jus and it left a very weird dynamic between sweet and savory that just didn't blend well together: 3/10 for this item. Service was efficient and beautiful venue as always. Next time we might just stick to the classics.

We had a fantastic experience here, I'd highly recommend. We were a party of 8, including a baby, and they truly were so accommodating and efficient in getting our food and drinks to us. We decided to take advantage of the price fixed menu for $39. It only runs for summer but it was a great deal. For my personal dishes, I got the tuna poke, which had a great kick and crunch. I tried the district burger, and it was as delicious as I had heard. Then I ended with the pee butt pie and it was a perfect sweet ending. Clint was our server and was very attentive and friendly and made it a great dining experience. We even got a birthday treat, the donuts. They were delicious. It was a fantastic meal overall!

Back next evening for Wahoo Crudo...

Idk what to say, but I had to read some bad reviews and I was left confused and perplexed. Like what are these bad reviews and why? I cannot be part of that, because my experience was so good, i went back the day after. First, amazing ambiance, large "studio" open concept dining overlooking SE Dixie Hwy and occasional trains come ripping thru which gives it that old / modern charm. Outdoor seating as well, nice bar and selection of top alcohols. So first time there, greeted immediately by server, friendly / attentive. I ordered their "give it to guava..." great drink, I think I ordered (3)! Started off with $2 Thursday oyster special so ordered (5). Super fresh, amazingly shucked (no chips, grit, etc), spot on chilled. Came with standard condiments but their minced apple mignonette was something I never had and was truly exceptional considering I usually partake with just oyster and lemon. So good I ordered another (5). Then here comes my other app that literally blew my mind and which brought me here the next day. Wahoo Crudo...it's like sashimi on a plate with no rice. Just fresh raw wahoo over this garlic, toasted oil and chili crunch with lemon. Blew. My. Mind...I mean like wtf! Still in culinary heaven, then comes out my next dish, chicken kabob...all these flavors and twists that accent these chicken skewers were eccentric and proper, truly delicious as well. Not stopping, I had to try their deviled eggs and once again, overly impressed on their spin of deviled eggs. Ended with a cup of black pressed coffee. So yah, truly an amazing culinary experience and cannot wait to come back when in town next. Do not sleep on this place, it's a must try...

Went the other night, had patio table resv, it was nice, comfy with the fans even tho weather hot. John was our server and he was fantastic! I had the prix fixe, started with the watermelon salad what a nice fresh delicious starter. The feta, micro greens and slices of watermelon were sooo good! The. The burger, fries and baby shake. Very delicious and the milk bun wow. All was perfect. Ending was cinnamon donuts which were hot, terrific ending, included an orange custard dip and strawberry fruit dip. What a great Friday, this is one of my fav places. We also shared the tuna poke, which was perfect! Husb had the flounder over ramp, pea risotto. He enjoyed! Glad we could share the donuts! They have a great bar too, cocktails were perfect!

I've been wanting to come here for a long time, but never made it for happy hour. The menu is pretty pricey so I wanted to give it a try first at happy hour, and I was very impressed! Similar to Collab, they have a great happy hour menu. There are plenty of items for $10 and drinks are five dollars. Everything was really good, and I was so happy that three of the happy hour. Food items were either vegan or easily made vegan. I'll definitely be coming back here for dinner. I know they don't have a lot of dinner options or vegan, but I think there are some things that can be modified. Overall great place. Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and great options. Overall, will definitely be back!

Burger was average- bottom bun was too soggy and messy. Fries were good and chocolate shake was a nice touch. Portion size of everything was perfect, there were plenty of fries.. Ambiance of the restaurant was also nice, they had both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a friday night and not super packed. Waiter for our table was nice (we ended up asking another waiter for something at the end and the last thing he wanted to do was help us).

We came here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. We made a reservation for seating inside but due to the storm, the restaurant was quite busy. They asked us if we wanted to sit at the counter where the food was being prepared and we said yes. It was a really cool experience. The drinks were good and the food for the most part was delicious. I really wanted to give this 5 stars but our chicken was not fully cooked and needed to send it back. The new order came quickly but it was still a bit of a disappointment.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and swiftly escorted to our table, which offered a lovely view of the bar area and a musician playing genuinely cool, soulful music. The energy in the room was vibrant, welcoming, and effortlessly chic -- the kind of atmosphere that immediately lets you know you're somewhere special. Our server, Lizzie, was an absolute standout. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, with such a bright and genuine spirit. Her guidance through the menu was thoughtful and spot-on, and she truly elevated the entire dining experience. We began with the specialty oysters and the tuna poke. The tuna was clearly sushi-grade and incredibly fresh, served with house-made wonton chips that were nothing short of outstanding. The oysters were beautifully presented and came with a phenomenal variety of accompaniments that complemented them perfectly. For entrées, we chose the sweet potato-crusted grouper with truffle fries and plantains, as well as the crusted snapper served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were expertly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully plated. I must also note that the portion size of the fresh Florida fish was incredibly generous -- easily enough to feed two people, which was a wonderful surprise and tremendous value. We also requested a customized margarita, and the bartender nailed it -- perfectly balanced and exactly what we had in mind. From the ambiance to the service, cocktails, and exceptional food, Sophia's delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We left impressed, happy, and already planning our return. This is a gem in Hobe Sound, and we will absolutely be back.

First, let me start out by saying that Stevie was amazing. Very professional, very helpful,…read moreimpeccable service. You can absolutely tell that he has a ton of experience working in the food service industry. Our drink orders were perfect. Great martini delivered just as ordered. 5 stars. We are long-time Kyle G patrons. This was our first time at the Fish Grill. We came on a Tuesday. Upon arrival we learned about the Tuesday happy-tizer specials. We decided to try them in lieu of ordering off the regular menu. Our intention was to try as many of the happy-tizers as we could. Maybe that was our mistake. We will never know because after such a lackluster meal, we won't return. Here is what we tried: We ordered the mussels. Small, chewy, shriveled, over seasoned. Enough said. The shrimp and crab cake reminded me of my mother's salmon croquettes....not my favorite meal as a kid growing up. 2 half-dollar size patties served with a flavorful dipping sauce. They didn't taste like crab and they didn't taste like shrimp. A pan fried paste that tasted like whatever seasoning they used. The sauce couldn't save this for me. A textural turnoff. The dragon dynamite tuna was completely forgettable. The "crispy" rice was not crispy at all, the round discs could have been small, circular cut-outs of Wonder white bread. The tuna topping was more acidic than spicy. And I'm not really sure how you can mix tuna with spicy mayo and come up with a result that actually tasted as dry as the Sahara desert. The fish tacos were fresh, well cooked and well seasoned. They were served with luke-warm fries. Please note, the fish taco is not on the half price happy-tizer menu. The Tuesday appetizer menu is exactly the same as the appetizer menu every other day of the week.... We stopped after 3 disappointing items. Would it have tasted better on Wednesday when they were full price?

For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.
