Based on my experience living right across the street, Talk House was my ultimate spot for convenience, and I used to stop in frequently for a drink. The truth is, that habit eventually died out because my wife and I started feeling like we were part of the scenery--we often felt invisible just trying to flag someone down for service. But what a difference a night makes! Tonight, the service was outstanding--it was simply top-notch, and a huge welcome back. As for the food, my Friday night visit was a bit mixed, but I have to rave about the meatball; it was delicious and so generously sized that it was enough for several people to share a bite. The pasta dish I ordered, with vegetables and added chicken, was fresh and good, though I wished for a little more variety in the veggies. For the quality, I felt the price was just okay, but that amazing meatball combined with the excellent service tonight proves that this place still has what it takes. read more

What a lovely venue. We were on the patio on a beautiful spring evening with a group of 7. Great cocktail choices and menu options. I had the beet salad and added the tenderloin which was cooked perfectly and so tender. Definitely a large serving. People were very happy with their meal choices, including shrimp dishes and pasta. So crazy enough I have passed by this restaurant probably hundreds of times. We used to keep our boat at the harbor across the street for a few years. When I met my husband, he had a completely different boat at that same marina when it was once called loggerhead. For whatever reason, we just never made it over here to eat. My girlfriends wanted to take me here for a belated birthday happy hour. Unfortunately it was a very short, simple meal. I had a couple of dirty martinis, and we kept ordering the salmon and beef Capaci. Obviously they were so delicious that we ordered them multiple times and had one side of meatballs. For happy hour prices it was pretty expensive when we split the bill three ways. Would I go back, probably if somebody suggested so. Just a heads up parking is very limited, but we were lucky enough to find street parking. The inside is pretty decent with a nice long bar. We sat at the high top, which was the perfect choice for a bunch of ladies trying to get tipsy. I had a fun time, service was great and I honestly don't have any other complaints. read more

Just finished a delicious early bird dinner here at Talk House with my husband out on their patio. My honey is always reluctant to try calves liver out - even though it's one of his favorites and I don't make it at home. After he was told it's their number one early bird dinner choices , he ordered it. And he was ever do glad he did! The liver was cooked perfectly with sautéed onions, bacon and a very delicious Demi glaze. I had the panco lightly crusted salmon with lobster beurre blanc sauce. Perfectly cooked and delicious as well. We were too full after our salads and dinners so we took our cheesecakes home to indulge later. Our server, Bryce was very helpful and attentive. I ordered the eggplant stack for $18 and was very disappointed It was a small portion for an entree and was mostly spinach with only a few thin slices of eggplant and melted mozzarella I had to ask for a roll and was charged .40!!! lol The sauce was tasteless and I've eaten eggplant stacks at other restaurants and this was a zero!!! I've never been, decided to give it a try. The 80's music was blaring and the atmosphere was like stepping into a time warp, and I'm not talking the good kind. The fish sandwich was a square, out of a bag YUCK. They claim it's dolphin, it was undetermined in my opinion. Oh and they have an additional admin fee..charge for the pleasure of sitting in the restaurant ! Do not waste your money. Too many other choices out there. read more

Food is tasty. Servings are small. Price tag is high. Parking is almost impossible, very small parking area. Get there early or be prepared to walk. Hard to get a menu, much less service. Be prepared for a large bill or you will leave hungry. It's so crowded inside that it looks to be exceeding limits. Outside isn't well organized. Went with friends and enjoyed. The place is really cute, they have patio seating g as well, when we went they had a singing guitar player. We had reservations were greeted and sat promptly. Jessica was our server she did a good job. Started with meatball app quite good. I had a special hogfish francese with mashed and veggie medley of green beans, asparagus and broccoli. Really good and the portion was big! The burblanc was yummy, fish cooked perfect the veggies were good maybe could have cooked the green beans a bit more. Their entrees come with a salad and dressings were great. Friend had cashew crusted salmon he really liked; husband had garlic shrimp over risotto, the shrimp were nice and big, he said they weren't cleaned tho so that was a bummer. First food was excellent and deserved a five star rating. We had a 7 o'clock reservation. At 7 we were asked to wait a second until the table was bused. Waited outside for 20 minutes with two or three tables ready for seating. At least two couples came in after us and were seated. Went back to desk at 7:20 and were told table was ready. The same one we sat in front of for 20 minutes. Placed our order for chicken and sea bass. Someone came to our table with two sea bass. Told him one was supposed to be chicken so he took one and left one. We started nibbling on the green beans he came back and took the plate away before we could say we already ate from the plate. Pretty sure he gave it to someone else. Our meal finally appeared but now we were wondering if anyone else got our dinner first! Waitress also brought dessert menu before my husband finished his meal! And then there was a 20% gratuity added to a bill for two people plus a 3% service charge. Really? I finally made it to the Talk House. I have heard about it from others in the area, but hadn't made it there until last night. They have a great happy hour menu with drinks and appetizers. They sat us right away in the bar area at a high top table. We had the stuffed mushrooms, the Meatball (big one!) and some fish dip. All were fantastic. The drinks were great and the service excellent. I will be back to try the main menu soon! read more

I did not want to starch that came with my steak so I asked him to double up on the vegetables and then ask them to put a little gravy on top of the steak when I got the bill they charged me an extra $7.50 for that which broke down $4 for the extra vegetables and $3.50 for the gravy on top of the steak. Two sides were supposed to come with the steak but since I asked for the double up on the vegetables and no starch they said sorry about that we have to charge you. Then when I asked him about the gravy they said, nothing's for free in this world buddy if you don't like it you can go somewhere else. So I will and never come to this place ever again. read more

Great addition to the downtown area of Stuart, large modern bar spans almost the length of the restaurant. Design is modern and a far cry from what was here previously. This was my first time here and they have a nice size outdoor patio area, also a few private rooms which I'm always looking for for dinner events. The food was very good. I was here for happy hour enjoying the house cab (which was very good), and salmon carpaccio. The salmon was perfect! It was just what I needed. I brought the talk house burger home for my husband and he loved it. This is an excellent place for happy hour but looks like it's best to get here early. We started with the Almond Crusted Brie that came blueberries, strawberry, pineapple, apples and more. Then move on to a couple of salads. I got Beef Tenderloin which was mixed greens, whole cashews, hearts of palm, roasted pepper and more. Wife got the roasted beet salad. Greens beets, walnuts, goat cheese and more. For dessert we got the Key Lime Brûlée. The Brie was very good and big portion. Wife liked her Beet salad and again a very portion. The Beef Tenderloin was good, the cashews were whole on the side and I didn't care for the dressing. Way to much horseradish in it. Got a different dressing and that was better. The brûlée was strange, like a cheese cake high and cut like a piece of pie. Flavor was interesting, but the reason I get a brûlée is for something light after the meal. If I wanted cheese cake I would order that. This was heavy and dense. Good just not something I would order again and their regular brûlée is the same. The place has an interesting feel and vibe to it. Looks nice inside and they have lots of room outside too. Seemed very popular with the locals. read more

Stopped in for late lunch at the spur of the moment one day. It was happy hour, which started at 3.(it was 3:15) We asked to sit outside and it was ok as long as we were gone by 5 when they had reservations. We said we weren't going to be there that long. We ordered drinks and appetizers. It was all wonderful. The server (sorry I can't remember her name, but she was also a yoga instructor) was phenomenal! The food was fabulous!! Drinks were perfect.
