First time checking out Pez Vela. Our waiter Roberto was fabulous and had very good recommendations. To start we got calamari and acevichado sushi roll. The calamari wasn't too heavy and came with a kimchi tartar sauce that was to die for!! The acevichado roll had a great crunchy texture and the sauce on top gave off a smokey flavor....probably the best sushi roll we have had in stuart. For dinner we got the lobster risotto and 6oz petite filet. The portion for the lobster was good and couldn't finish all the risotto. The steak was cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back to try a few more options. read more

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Pez Vela last weekend. The atmosphere was lively which was perfect for a date night. The food was excellent. I had the calamari with churrasco which was cooked to perfection. The owner, Lou, personally came by to greet diners, which was a really nice touch. We had an amazing dinner Valentines weekend. We've never been to this place before, but we couldn't have picked a better spot. Service was spot on. We ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc followed by chardonnay which came in a cool wine ice cradle to keep them chill. started with the black nigiri and scallops fogata. Both were delicious and unique. The parsnip puree in the scallop dish i would eat with anything, any day. Hubby got the lobster risotto and i opted for the mar y Tierra roll. My sushi roll was a show stopper due to its uniqueness of having picante, plantains and chimichurri sauce in the same place with the shrimp tempura. Like, who does that? But it totally worked and blended all together. We got a few desserts to try as well. We enjoyed the sounds of the live saxophone player too. Fabulous find in Stuart! This will be in a repeat for sure! We were going in for dinner but sat at the bar and it felt so comfortable there we decided to have dinner at the bar. Great cocktails! I had a mezcal old Fashioned .. was hesitant but someone there talked me into it and did not disappoint. Smoky and smooth. Husband had something with gin and cucumbers, said it was great. We ordered an Intenso (?) roll, it was excellent. We had oysters and I had the branzino. It was cooked perfectly and I didn't leave a bite in the plates bartenders were great. Great place for a romantic dinner, cane here with family to celebrate our anniversary and loved it! Service, food and atmosphere was great. Our choices were: the Chef's Sushi party / Matador Experience and some additional side items: Calamari / Ceasar Salad / Truffle Mac & Cheese Overall the food was good slightly under seasoned but everything was on point. Server was amazing, knew the menu from top to bottom and recommended some nice options. TIP: we took two bottles of wine and they charge $25 for uncorking them. I love the happy hour here! I like to sit at the bar where Josh, bartender extraordinaire, is the mixologist and server. The specialty cocktails are amazing! They are included in the happy hour menu. The wine selection is good, house wines, also included. For food selection- I typically order a sushi roll - I think they are the best I have tasted in Stuart! Their wings are very tasty as well. They have done a great job making the space beautiful and inviting. They had a great saxophone player during my recent visit. Highly recommend for a lovely happy hour experience. read more

What an amazing dinner experience. Josh and Sidney were exceptional. We ordered the sashimi, shishitto peppers and the ceviche was wow oh wow! For dinner Josh recommended the Hogfish special what a taste. We had never had Hogfish before, and we fall in love with how everything came together in your pallet. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. I've now been to Pez Vela a couple of times, and it is absolutely worth the 35-minute drive from Jupiter. I love their fusion of Latin, sushi, Asian influences, and seafood flair. Being of Cuban descent and raised in a foodie family with high standards, I was definitely a bit skeptical... but wow -- this concept delivers beautifully. And it doesn't stop there. New spot to try out for date night!! Some things were good and some were bad. The google photos of the food were exciting but the real life food was a bit of a flop and slightly over priced. I feel like the chef tried some unusual pairings and they just missed the mark such as the kimchi creamed spinach. Two of my favorite things and unfortunately it was just not good together. The chicken Bao was really good and so were the empanadas but I wouldn't consider them typical empanadas. I'm a huge fan of truffle Mac and cheese and this one was another thing that just missed the mark. The scallops were also just ok, only crispy on one side. However I have to say I saw a lot of people getting sushi and it looked VERY good but my date doesn't like sushi and for $25 a roll I wasn't ordering one to myself and wasting half of it with all the other food we got. Front desk staff was really friendly and our server was just a gross human and our dinner took almost 3 hours so there was a lot of just sitting and waiting. It was a good experience just not something I would do without happy hour menu. They have Fresh draft IPA which drew us in the first place but the pork belly is the best I've had yet. We also had a couple apps which were pretty darn good too. Service was "ok". Had to get another server twice to help so probably won't be back for a while. I stumbled onto Pez Vela by chance. I agree with an earlier comment, Pez Vela is a hidden gem. Food was spectacular. I had the Ahi Tuna and it was spectacular. My 90 year old Mom loved it as well. Loved it! Went for the first time last night. We were a party of 4 and we all enjoyed everything from the excellent service to the wonderful atmosphere and best of the all the great food and drinks. We decided to order everything on the Happy Hour Menu and it was all delicious, but the Japanese Eggplant was our favorite. Roberto took excellent care of us, and we had a perfect evening. We had several of the appetizers, which included tartar cones, Hamachi tiradito, Vela wings, and the Godzilla roll. All were works of art with flavor to match. The halibut was the Day Catch and did not disappoint. We finished up with a deconstructed Dubai chocolate mousse that was amazing. My friends and I went for lunch today. The place is very pretty and our server was wonderful. We asked for iced tea but they only have sweet tea from a machine. Disappointing. We had a burger which was good. It came with yucca fries which were very good. The crab wraps however were a joke. For 19$ you would expect real lump crab meat but it tasted like it came from a can and was fishy tasting. It was an appetizer sized portion and we were still hungry after lunch. Also my bill was 34.44$ for a sparkling water and the wraps. 16% was added to the tab for service fee. Bad move since I would have left a 20% tip but I was too annoyed by the experience. Maybe other dishes are worth the price but I won't be back to find out. read more
