We've only been to Pez Vela twice, but I already have a feeling this is going to become one of our go-to spots in Stuart! Our first visit was fairly quick--we sat at the bar, had a couple of drinks and an appetizer, and enjoyed it enough that we knew we wanted to come back for the full experience. Tonight we finally did, and it definitely did not disappoint. We happened to come on their monthly Latin Night, with a DJ and such a fun atmosphere. They also have live music several nights throughout the week, so we're already looking forward to coming back and checking that out. The food was fantastic. We tried the triple tail special, which was excellent, and I had the Black & Blue Salad with skirt steak, which was absolutely delicious. Apparently they offer different specials every night, so definitely ask about them when you're there. The cocktails are pretty amazing too! We love sitting at the bar, and Josh has been our bartender both times. He is AWESOME--friendly, attentive, and just adds to the whole experience. One of the things we really loved about tonight was the overall vibe. We ended up meeting a couple of local people at the bar who we really hit it off with and may have even made some new friends! We also happened to meet the owner and some of his friends, which made an already great night even more memorable. There's just a really welcoming, fun energy to the place. Great food, fantastic drinks, live music, a fun atmosphere, and genuinely nice people--what more could you ask for? We're pretty excited to go back, try more of the menu, and experience some of the other live music nights. I think we found ourselves a new Stuart favorite! Highly recommend Pez Vela! read more

We had a great time. My only criticism is it seemed a bit pricey. We sat outside and they had a two piece band playing that night. Nice setting and a bar outside as well. We went with some rolls to start and then some Peruvian inspired treats. The prep was too notch and love that the chef combine his roots with the Japanese inspired roll. Great food. Came w hubby on Latin night! First time. Amazing Latin fusion appetizers. Skewers were Very well seasoned. Potatoes were golden with the right crisp. Delicious. We didn't have dinner but based on the appetizer alone, we will be returning. Cocktails were well poured and strong. Hubby didn't like the golden mojito- too sour. Next Latin night is Aug 29. We had an amazing dinner Valentines weekend. We've never been to this place before, but we couldn't have picked a better spot. Service was spot on. We ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc followed by chardonnay which came in a cool wine ice cradle to keep them chill. started with the black nigiri and scallops fogata. Both were delicious and unique. The parsnip puree in the scallop dish i would eat with anything, any day. Hubby got the lobster risotto and i opted for the mar y Tierra roll. My sushi roll was a show stopper due to its uniqueness of having picante, plantains and chimichurri sauce in the same place with the shrimp tempura. Like, who does that? But it totally worked and blended all together. We got a few desserts to try as well. We enjoyed the sounds of the live saxophone player too. Great place for a romantic dinner, cane here with family to celebrate our anniversary and loved it! Service, food and atmosphere was great. Our choices were: the Chef's Sushi party / Matador Experience and some additional side items: Calamari / Ceasar Salad / Truffle Mac & Cheese Overall the food was good slightly under seasoned but everything was on point. Server was amazing, knew the menu from top to bottom and recommended some nice options. TIP: we took two bottles of wine and they charge $25 for uncorking them. First time checking out Pez Vela. Our waiter Roberto was fabulous and had very good recommendations. To start we got calamari and acevichado sushi roll. The calamari wasn't too heavy and came with a kimchi tartar sauce that was to die for!! The acevichado roll had a great crunchy texture and the sauce on top gave off a smokey flavor....probably the best sushi roll we have had in stuart. For dinner we got the lobster risotto and 6oz petite filet. The portion for the lobster was good and couldn't finish all the risotto. The steak was cooked to perfection! I had a mezcal old Fashioned .. was hesitant but someone there talked me into it and did not disappoint. Smoky and smooth. Husband had something with gin and cucumbers, said it was great. We ordered an Intenso (?) roll, it was excellent. We had oysters and I had the branzino. It was cooked perfectly and I didn't leave a bite in the plates bartenders were great. I love the happy hour here! I like to sit at the bar where Josh, bartender extraordinaire, is the mixologist and server. The specialty cocktails are amazing! They are included in the happy hour menu. The wine selection is good, house wines, also included. For food selection- I typically order a sushi roll - I think they are the best I have tasted in Stuart! Their wings are very tasty as well. For dinner Josh recommended the Hogfish special what a taste. We had never had Hogfish before, and we fall in love with how everything came together in your pallet. New spot to try out for date night!! Some things were good and some were bad. The google photos of the food were exciting but the real life food was a bit of a flop and slightly over priced. I feel like the chef tried some unusual pairings and they just missed the mark such as the kimchi creamed spinach. Two of my favorite things and unfortunately it was just not good together. The chicken Bao was really good and so were the empanadas but I wouldn't consider them typical empanadas. I'm a huge fan of truffle Mac and cheese and this one was another thing that just missed the mark. The scallops were also just ok, only crispy on one side. However I have to say I saw a lot of people getting sushi and it looked VERY good but my date doesn't like sushi and for $25 a roll I wasn't ordering one to myself and wasting half of it with all the other food we got. Front desk staff was really friendly and our server was just a gross human and our dinner took almost 3 hours so there was a lot of just sitting and waiting. I stumbled onto Pez Vela by chance. I agree with an earlier comment, Pez Vela is a hidden gem. Food was spectacular. I had the Ahi Tuna and it was spectacular. My 90 year old Mom loved it as well. Flavorful, moist inside and flaky on the outside. We then shared 2 sushi rolls and both were excellent & fresh. They have an extensive drink & wine menu. We will be back to try their other entrees and steaks. Our server was Karen. She was knowledgeable about the menu, on point in service and as sweet as they come. Ambiance- they had a singer who had the most amazing voice in the corner and gave the best vibe. They have live music on the weekends thru summer and I believe they add more in season.
