Sail finally became available in my area and I jumped at the chance to dump Comcast's outrageous rates. Previously I was paying $245 per month for Cable, Phone, Internet and Unlimited Data. Charging me an extra $50 per month for unlimited data was kind of the last straw. That's when I found Sail. From calling to installation date to about 10 days. Install itself took about an hour outside, a little more than an hour inside because they had some trouble getting my Orbi to work (problem on their end they said). They actually had the internet talking to their laptop within 15 minutes of moving inside. The staff stuck around to help all the way through to the end. Total commitment to getting my internet up and running. Even offered to loan me a Google Wifi puck if I couldn't get my Orbi to work. In the end they figured it out and I'm up and running with my Orbi. As for speed I'm getting around 300Mbps down and 100Mbps up. Can't complain at all. I'd recommend Sail Internet to anyone. read more

I have this service for almost 4 year and the quality of the service have been going down every day. I live in Warm Springs area in Fremont. When I got this service, the speed used to be always above 150Mbps. Now a days, in the day time I get around 50Mbps speed. Only during the night after 12:00 AM, I get more than 100 Mbps. While all other internet providers especially Comcast have greatly increased their speed (up to 1200Mbps), Sail internet speed is going down every day. If you are looking for faster internet, Sail is not the service you are looking for. Not sure if they have any plans to increase their speed in the future too. Sail internet is finally available in our neighborhood now, and I signed up for the installation last week. Two technician came and installed the antenna over roof to attic and ran the cable to my living room. Connected to the FREE google wifi router, and it works! They are professional and polite, and even fixed one of my bad keystone (rated cat5e, but unable to sustain 1Gbps duplex). The network speed is amazing! They promised 200/100, but I could reach 200+/200+. The IP I have is from ONEWISP at Virginia (for a bay area installation), some CDN might have issues finding the fastest peer. read more

Have been looking for exactly what Sail Internet does for the last 5 years as streaming has become more and more the way our family of 5 accesses content. When we cut the cord, and video became a larger portion of that content, I could not get the plan I wanted from Comcast: $50 / month, 100+ Mb throughput, and no data cap. Sail sent a snail mail flyer for an internet provider alternative. I did some research and saw mostly good reviews. But the reason I gave them a try was because of a picture where they sponsored a Warm Springs Little League team. I have many good memories with my son playing and supporting that institution. Naturally, I signed up with a company that supports local families. Armando installed the 5G dish and transceiver on my chimney and hooked it through a POE power supply directly to my WiFi AP router WAN Ethernet port. After some calibration, It was working well with a solid connection at -42 dbm. That was 3 days ago. Since then, everything has been working well (see attached screenshot). I have really enjoyed the 10X+ upload speeds I had previously as I can now backup my NAS to a cloud file storage service in a reasonable amount of time. In summary, Sail is delivering what Comcast would not. If Sail is as reliable as Comcast, they will have my business for the next 20 years. Update 01/26/2020 I've been using Sail Internet for a month now and it has been a great experience overall. At first, there were some "micro outages", which lasted just long enough to interrupt a YouTube or Netflix stream. But those have completely disappeared. Could be due to Sail, or could be YouTube & Netflix algorithms adjusting to a new provider. In any case, shows load quickly and display at 4K resolution when available. My son and I work from home one day a week. We both have typical tech company jobs with on-line enterprise tools including A/V conferencing. No issues, everything works as expected. Regarding Customer Support, I raised a security question and got an immediate response. My concern was raised to "urgent" even though it was really just an inquiry. Had a good exchange with the engineer that wrote the port access policy. Hard to beat that! Yes, the down/upload speeds do fluctuate. But it has never been to concerning levels. Am really enjoying the upload speeds. This is very much appreciated for off-premises back-up, and for uploading content to a web server where we share family information. This simply was not possible with Comcast residential rates. In my final bill form Comcast, they said they were sorry to see me go. Cut the cord thanks to Sail Internet ... $49/mos, free "standard" Installation, can purchase a router from them if you like for $99 and up depending upon which you choose - that's it, no additional taxes, contract, equipment rental fees, regulatory fees, etc. Add $40/mos. for Hulu, and OOMA for telephone, and my $180/mos. Comcast Triple Play bill has been reduced to under $100/mos. Tried the Google WiFi router but its WiFi performance was slower than the Comcast router despite a Sail DL speed ~20% faster to my house. When I informed Sail that I wanted to return the Google router, they kindly offered to do a straight up exchange to an Asus RT-AC87U router that had just come back from a customer. Now my WiFi performance is ~15% faster than Comcast DL, and ~100% faster UL. At the far end of my home the improvement was even more substantial, ~400% faster DL, ~200% faster UL. Google WiFi, while easier to setup and more stylish, but the Asus routers that Sail recommends on their website are faster. The Google WiFi radio is also not as strong given that it was designed to be part of a mesh system. Anyone who is dying to ditch Comcast and lives in the Sail service areas in Fremont and San Jose, should contact Sail so that they can come out and see if your home has line-of-site access to one of their antennas. If so, they can schedule the installation of an antenna on your roof that will have you up and running in less then 4hrs! For me, thanks to Remo, Fernando and Iliana, this process took less than a week. read more

After years of being taken for a ride by Comcast with their ever increasing fee and added costs and sub par speeds, I changed to sail Internet about 4 months ago. Once my HoA (MonteVista) approved, I contacted Sail immediately. The installation, appointment setup fast and hassle free. I love the fact that there is no spurious fee. It is a single fixed price. For the speed I get (about 300mpbs) it is value for money. Recently, there have been a few service interruptions. The CEO, Kevin has been very open and prompt about communicating during these service interruptions. I don't usually write reviews. But after recent service interruptions, I feel the need to write this review to give my support to Sail team. It is a small company competing in a market monopolized by giants like att and Comcast. These service interruptions are part of growing pains. For those working from home, don't make hasty decision to cancel. Give Sail time to grow and make their network robust. read more

As a small business owner that works mainly out of my home, having a reliable internet connection with fast speeds is a must. ESPECIALLY when it comes to upload speeds (very important for my line of work). I feel like upload speeds are truly looked over by the bigger internet providers, who claim to have fantastic download speeds and don't mention how slow their upload speeds are. I would have to leave my computer on overnight to handle delivering the files that I had to upload. Needless to say, I'm happy to have finally cut the cord and removed Xfinity from my life. Xfinity does a good job of making you bundle everything to get a better price, and therefore you end up getting tons of stuff you don't need. I didn't need 8 thousand channels and a phone line, but I had it all to get the best price possible on Xfinity. Instead of paying $230 a month for that, I now just pay $50 a month for FASTER speeds and just stream the rest of what I watch. I have Netflix ($10 a month) and just signed up for YouTube TV ($40 a month), so the grand total for my monthly bills are now $100. Fyi my upload speeds went from 5 mbps to over 100.... UPDATE: In the middle of my second outage for the month of April here in the Rivermark area of Santa Clara. The reliability is really poor. I had a great onboarding experience with Sail. The customer support guys were fantastic, pricing plans were transparent, on site installation crew we're prompt and completed the job on time. The speeds were too good to be true. However all this comes to nought due to the poor reliability of the service. I have had multiple service outages the past couple of months and a couple of those were when I was in the middle of getting some work done. Pricing and speeds are a differentiator only when the reliability is good. I understand that these might be growing pains but in all the years I was with Comcast the only time I had to get on the phone with customer support was to renegotiate the contracts read more

New to sail internet for a week. upload speed is good, but the service down twice already in couple days. First time was 30 minutes, and second time is more than a few hours. Not recommended. Update (6/1/2021) Sail is working hard and response very quickly to solve all issues. I signed up the minimal Comcast internet as a backup plan. I decided to completely cut the cord from comcast (250mbps/11mbps) to Sail Internet. It's my first day of having their service, but I am BLOWN away with my new speed of 550mbps/800mbps. The upload speed is important to me, since I host movie streaming for friends/family to watch. It's too early for me to provide feedback on service reliability, but will swing back and provide an update at a later date. Also wanted to thank the installer, I think his name was Alejandro (sorry if its wrong). Very professional, clean after the install, and he made the extra effort to rewire to which room I wanted the ethernet port to come from. Thank you Guys! Had Sail internet installed 2 months ago, and overall, I'm happy with it. The two best things of Sail are: 1. Fast upload and download for a good price. 2. Great customer service. First the installation: Jeff is the technician that came to our house to install the dish and the modem. He went above and beyond to get things working, spending 3h to do the install because our house had been surveyed over a year ago and since then trees and buildings blocked the line of sight. But he tested a bunch of location on the roof and then went to get a longer pipe to put the dish higher up and voilà! I also requested if he could pass the cable down through the chimney (which we don't use) instead of drilling a hole in the wall and even though it is uncommon, he did it for us and it works great! Right after installation, got 300mbps down and 200mbps up. The first week after installation, I had some freezing and cutting during video meetings. I contacted the support and they did all the checks and didn't see any issues (they took the time to show me the data and answer questions about the networks they use etc). However, I after that one week, things seems to have been fixed, no more issues since then. The speed went down a little, I now average 150mbps up and down, but still very pleasant to work with, especially the upload. My biggest fear at first was how much the speed and or latency would vary depending on the weather since this is a long distance wireless connection. And to my surprise, the speed is very consistent and I haven't got freezes in my meetings anymore. I also used Google Stadia, which requires low latency and low package drop rate, and found it pretty smooth, though I would need to compare it with Comcast to really know if there's any difference. read more

Service is great when it works. Which is most of the time. But heaven help you when it doesn't work. They do not have a phone number to call. You can only report problems via email and they don't give good feedback. Are they actually fixing it or even working on it? Who knows. Will the problem get fixed? Eventually. It can take hours. Recently signed up for Sail Internet and couldn't be happier with my decision. In fact, I'm hesitant to leave a review because I'm afraid of letting others in on this little gem of an Internet provider. I've been switching between AT&T and Comcast for as long as I can remember - never totally happy with either. Sure promo pricing is good, but once that period ends rates are crazy. Also speeds with both are inconsistent (though AT&T does have the edge). But with Sail, I'm pulling speeds faster than I've EVER seen with either of the "big boys" and the standard baseline price is cheaper than even the other guy's promo rates! But how about customer service? Second to none! Never have had to wait to speak to a rep. Never! I call, they pick up, period. The installers were professional and took the time necessary to do a quality job. Literally can't praise the staff and company enough. If their quality, pricing and support remains at this level, I'll be a customer for life. read more

Our community was able to get Sail internet installed very recently after working with our community HOA. (If your HOA isn't being helpful, take initiative, show up to meetings, I did and we got new internet.) This wouldn't have happened without the amazing help from Javier and Sail internet! Cost savings alone are huge, our household is saving almost 150 dollars a month compared to what we had on Comcast for a better internet service. Now we pay less than 50 dollars a month! Our speeds increased from 200mpbs download 10mbps upload on Comcast to 300+mbps (goes up to 700mbps during dead hours) and well over 100mbps upload (also goes up dramatically during dead hours). Transfer speed is not everything though, our ping also dropped significantly from 20ms on average through Comcast down to 2ms on average from Sail Internet. If you previously subscrived to TV services through cable, fear not! There are not many options that you can choose from to get LIVE tv over your internet. I personally use DirecTV Now and love it, other services like DirecTV Now are, Playstation Now, Hulu LIVE, Youtube TV, Sling TV or Fubo. Coupling a subscription service with a VOD service is great, like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or others! And for the low cost of only an ATSC antenna you can get free live HD TV over the air, just make sure you check distances to broadcast stations to figure out if you'll need an amplifier for your ATSC antenna. You will never miss a show again. If you live in a community that has issues getting fiber to your property then this is an amazing cost effective solution, driven by an amazing company that is there for their customers. I hope to be a Sail Internet customer for a very long time. read more

THIS IS WHAT AN INTERNET PROVIDER SHOULD BE!! There was a major storm over the weekend here in San Jose - I was out of town and came back to the internet having been out. I called Sail and was connected to a wonderful rep, Iliana who tried to walk me through some troubleshooting. When that didn't work, she said she would send a tech in the morning. Jonathon and Westin came to the house and were super professional, kind, and helpful. Turns out one of the main lines blew and it fried our entire router/wifi system. The guys spent about 4 hours trying to get everything in order, all the while explaining what they were doing any why. They did not leave until I was clearly up and running and they thanked ME for being patient!!! So happy we made the switch from Comcast to Sail. Could not have asked for a better experience. From installation and support, the staff displays exemplary professionalism. Big shout out to Johnathan and his crew for accommodating the less than preferable mounting location. Within a few hours, I was up and running with break neck speeds! Faster downloads and nearly 10x the upload I was currently getting with Comcast. I did have some issues with the connection constantly dropping every 5 minutes, stays up for a 3 minutes, and cycled like this for a while. I then started a support ticket via email, and within 15 minutes, I received a response and that the issue will be investigated. Then another 30 minutes, I was informed the engineering team fixed the issue and my connection has not dropped since. Was told that the speed would be 300Mbps download speed and got that during the first day.(08/28/18). Was very happy with installation and setup, which required putting an antenna on the roof pointing to a repeater in the neighborhood. From the second day however(08/29/18), my signal has been weaker and has never crossed 97Mbps in the same device as you see from the screen capture. Hopefully they could fix whatever problem there is, otherwise I'll be a 1 month customer and bail out from this experiment. (Update: I had been communicating with Sail over their support site and got timely response to my queries. One Sail support person came to to house this morning to measure my 'wired' connection speed and was consistently getting more than 150Mbps. They clarified that for residential the speed is normally 100-200Mbps. However with my mobile app I was now getting more than 300Mbps. So I'm happy with my speed for the moment-will keep monitoring. Sail delivered as advertised...and then A LOT more. With Comcast, we were getting 250 Mbps download and about 10Mbps upload. With Sail, we are getting 800 Mbps download and 250 Mbps uploads...for a fraction of Comcast's price!! I'm so glad we switched. I've had Sail Internet for about a year now, and am motivated to write a review because of the excellent customer service. My Internet was intermittently dropping down to the teens, wreaking havoc with some of my meetings. I filled out the online service form and they responded by email within minutes. I tried their suggestions, which didn't work, and was about to try some other things when they called. The support representative spent over a half hour on the phone while we tried different things and found out the problem (my end, not theirs). Over the past year, Internet has worked well, with generally high speeds (90s up and down). There was one outage (local outage caused by a PGE surge) that was solved within a couple hours. I would recommend them over the monopolies, for sure. read more

Decided to ditch Comcast after 6+ years due to their miserable upload speed and ever increasing prices. At first our Comcast upload speed was 15Mbps; they kept increasing plan prices every year and modem rental fees (nearly doubling over a 6 years span) and lowering the already miserable upload speed to just 5Mbps. The Sail installation was smooth and fast, the download and upload speeds right now phenomenal reaching 800Mbps download and 200+Mbps upload on gigabit ethernet connection. On wireless you will need a good router to be able to reach that throughput. We'll see how things progress as Sail grows in a few years (pricing, speed, outage, support, etc...) but so far I can't be any happier to have been freed from AT&T and Comcast's terrible internet options. If they are in your area consider giving them a try. Life is too short to endure the miserable performance of AT&T and Comcast. read more

Professional installation takes 3 hours and and it showed 100-130M down /40M up. It is significant improvement from my previous att service 15-20M down / 2M up and it has constantly much slower connection in heavy traffic time. I am quite happy with their stable and constant speed. Furthermore, their cost is reasonable and I don't see any reasons to stick to ATT/Comcast. I live in South Fremont Warmsprings area. I would recommend to everyone who is looking for better alternatives. It might have some geographic restrictions that someone should check on top of roof to make sure you have constant signal prior to final installation. Sail network, you did a great job! read more

I accidentally saw a service Van from Sail Internet a few houses down from where my house is on Stemel Way in Milpitas a few weeks ago. I then asked the technician to come over to do a field survey to see if I can get Sail internet services. I have Sail internet for about a week now... and am quite happy with it - with just a simple installation of a small disk on my roof and simple wiring. It's incredible that I now have a very fast internet transmissions - consistently 130-160 Mbps download and up to 60 - 70 Mbps upload. I am quite happy with Seal Internet and highly recommend it to anyone. Their people - in the office and in the field - are so great to deal with!!! read more
