Wow, what a wonderful experience! The gentleman working behind the register greeted me immediately, and he was incredibly friendly and professional! It was very clean and tidy inside. The door was left open for fresh air to blow in, which I really loved to see! They have indoor seating and two outdoor tables. I decided to sit outside to enjoy the breeze and the gentleman kindly brought the food outdoors to me, which I greatly appreciated! The eel roll was incredible and easily the best I've ever had! The sushi ginger was delicious as well and seemed extremely fresh--no brown or discolored spots. The cucumber roll was also very yummy. Gosh I cannot wait to go back again, and to share this place with my loved ones! Excellent customer service and excellent food... what more could you ask for?! Thank you Saigon88 Express for providing such an amazing atmosphere as well amazing food! This is certainly a special place and I could see that from only visiting once. I'm very glad I stopped by!
I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl with no peanuts. It's a really refreshing meal and the meat has lots of flavor - I enjoyed the crunchy cucumber and pickled onions. The service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. The interior is pretty small but there is plenty of seating.
I love this restaurant. I went a few months ago when their hood was broken so they couldn't do soups. I was very excited this time to go and see that they were able to do soups again. The restaurant smelled like delicious pho broth when I walked in. I had already ordered my banh mi sandwiches online before coming to pick them up, or I would've added an order of pho. I will be excited to come back for to try it next time. The traditional style banh mis are so flavorful and delicious. The veggies give the sandwich such a nice crunch. The staff here is always so kind and helpful. It is super small inside with only a few dine in tables, but it never seems to be too crowded inside. It wouldn't be too hard to find a seat if you wanted.
Decided to try this modest place before a Monday night concert at the Roxian. It was a little under 15 mins away and we hadn't had Vietnamese in quite some time. You order at the counter and then take a seat with a number. We were the only ones there, but several others came in a bit after us. There was plenty of seating. It's super casual. We started with really tasty summer rolls. They were wrapped perfectly, and I love when you can taste the fresh herbs in a summer roll when you first bite into it. The shrimp option was quite good. The peanut sauce was ok. It did not seem homemade. We both ordered the vermicelli bowl. I ordered shrimp; my husband the pork. Mine was far better. I thought the pork was overcooked. We're spoiled though. A place back in DC pounds out the pork really thin and has the most amazing sauce on it. This place has small bits that are quite cooked. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, though, and had some kind of sauce on it. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the fish sauce mixture - quite flavorful. Overall, the meal was good and quite healthy. We were pleased and would consider returning if we have another concert over that way. It really is a good desert around the Roxian!
Saigon88 Express is right off of Interstate 79 down Steubenville Pike in a small strip mall. Plenty of parking which was nice. The food itself was just OK - the vegetables were all fresh, the flavor of the marinated pork was nice, and the portion size was plentiful. On the minus side, the noodles weren't cooked the best; in one part they were a large twisted clump. The jalapeño and red onion were chopped but not separated, leading me to pick them apart. Also they left two of the fatty end pieces of the pork in the bowl, which no one wants to eat. Service was ok. You pay before eating here. The gentleman who brought the food did offer choice between chopsticks or utensils, was very friendly and appreciative. After that though, no further check-ins from the staff, even to refill the water, which was empty about half way through the meal (FYI tipped 18% when I ordered). I could eat here again but not in a rush to do so.

MY FAVORITE BOBA SPOT IN PITTSBURGH AREA!! There's also super delicious food, but I usually find myself here at least once every week or so for the boba and the cutest owners!! This spot is small, and it's always busy! But not too busy that you find yourself waiting forever. The workers are always hopping around very quickly doing everything to take care of everyone whether ordering they are ordering takeout, picking up online orders, or dining in! And pro tip: ALWAYS remember to get your boba card
I love ramen and unfortunately this place doesn't really do it for me. The noodles are spaghetti noodles and they were so mushy. The pork was fatty and doesn't melt in your mouth like regular chashu should. The seeds in the jalapeño they gave me was rotted. I'm sure this would be great for someone that has never tried really good ramen before. The restaurant is in a strip plaza thing and has a lot of parking. There is nothing spectacular that is worth noting about the ambiance. Even though the restaurant is very small, we had to wait a while to get our food. We weren't offered refills or checked on after we got our food.
Saigon88 Express serves authentic Vietnamese and other Asian foods. The menu lists foods such as edamame, bulgogi fries, salads, banh-mi sandwiches, pho and ramen soups, red curry, maki rolls, poke bowls, boba teas, etcetera. Please see my attached photos for the menu in August 2024. My husband and I ate one lunch here. Three employees very promptly and very kindly served us, and they checked in with us throughout our meal. Here are my ratings for our foods and beverages: Traditional Dac Biet Banh Mi - 4 stars - This sandwich was a large size. It contained pork, which is not my favorite meat, but it did taste good. It also contained fresh vegetables, some of which were pickled, and some spices. Pho beef - 5 stars - My husband ate this soup, and he described it as "very good." It was a huge size, and it contained beef broth, rice noodles, bean sprouts, basil, onions, cilantro, and jalapenos. Crispy dumplings - 5 stars - My husband ate this appetizer. Eight dumplings had a crispy exterior and a flavorful filling of pork and vegetables. On the side was duck sauce. Spicy Alaskan roll - 4.5 stars - This sushi roll contained shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, and cucumber and was topped with baked salmon. I do not think that this sushi roll tasted spicy, but it was very good. Honey-dew fruit tea with popping boba - 4.5 stars - This fruit tea had a refreshing flavor. Passionfruit tea with popping boba - 5 stars - My husband enjoyed this fruit tea. I would love to return to try additional menu items such as the bulgogi fries, ramen, red curry, and milk teas.
The best delicious Pho & Summer Rolls. Wish I lived here! Very friendly staff. Great prices.

Came here for lunch on a weekend (green phase of Covid-19). Ordered takeaway of their fresh spring rolls and their spicy lemongrass beef broth flavor. Total came out to approximately $18. What's Hot - Menu. Simple and straightforward. There's noodle soup, rice dishes, plain noodle dishes without soup, chicken, seafood, beef, tofu, Vietnamese sandwiches, spring rolls, fried spring rolls, boba teas, and smoothies. Anything and everything you can want. Btw, you can find their menu on their Facebook page! - Price. My order of 2 dishes was approximately $18. The spring rolls are $5 and my pho was $12. Reasonably priced, especially given the ingredients and portions. - Quality. The fresh spring rolls have shrimp, which I like better. The fillings also have fresh mint and chives. Definitely added to the flavor. Their dipping sauce is flavorful, fragrant and legit. Their spicy lemongrass pho broth is actually spicy and flavorful. Their pho comes with fish balls, imitation crab meat, and shrimp. No skimping on the add ins. Trust me dudes, I'm a native Cali girl whose had lots of legit pho in my lifetime. I know! Haha... - Portions. Pretty good portions, especially for the price. My container with the broth was definitely filled to the brim. No skimping, which I appreciate. The only struggle was I had to be careful not to put everything in my broth bowl at once, otherwise the broth would overflow. Given the givens, though? That's not a bad problem to have. - Service. Quick and friendly. I called in my takeaway order and asked how long it would take. Staff said about 5 minutes and he wasn't wrong. They're quick! Everything was ready when I arrived. My spring rolls were individually wrapped in saran wrap, which is better, because it prevents the spring rolls from drying out. The broth was in its own bowl. The noodles and toppings (bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, mint leaves, and cilantro) were in a separate container. - Flexibility. During this time of Covid-19, they have 2 tables outside of their restaurant for their customers. My friend and I ate outside at one of the tables, which we appreciated. What's Not - No avocado smoothie. I asked for their avocado smoothie, but they did not have it that day. Oh well. On the one hand, that's a good thing cuz it tell me they use actual avocados. Some places make their avocado smoothies with a powder. On the other hand, that does mean their ingredients are seasonal so they may not have everything on their menu. - Location. It's in McKees Rocks, which isn't that close to me, but oh well... Final Answer Pretty good. Not easy finding a legit pho restaurant in this area. It's worth it, though! read more

Update: I literally come here once a week. They are consistently amazing, and the food is always SO fresh. I didn't think it could get any better than the banh mi, but tonight I gave the banh uot flat rice noodle bowl a try, and WOW, it was so flavorful! It was served with a savory dressing that brought the entire dish together. This place keeps amazing me, and it's my new go to. I crave something from here weekly now. Can't wait to try the entire menu. read more

Nice simple seating and great food. We ordered the Chicken Bulgogi Fries which were delicious and two spice noodle soups ( Chicken and Brisket) . The spicy noodle was perfect for me but just a tad more for my wife , but we both devoured each bowl. Will definitely be back again. read more

I'm giving it a 4 star only because I only ever get fruit boba here lol! Boba is so good smooth juice flavors with amazing popping bubbles! So many flavors and combos to pick from! There regular tapioca boba is good as well coming in variety of flavors as well! 10/10 for boba read more

Went here because the place we were going to go to was closed. We both wanted Thai and this was on the way back home. I was honestly not expecting much, but I was blown away with the food. The spring rolls were fresh. The pho, is a must have, the broth was out of this world. I will be coming back here again! read more

This is a great little local place in a convenient location to grab some food that the Robinson area quite frankly needs more of! I've tried pho, sushi, and a Bahn mi and everything has been fresh and delicious. The pho is enough for two servings, easily. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Definitely vie Saigon 88 Express a try! read more

Clean, comfortable, and cheery. Everyone here was exceptionally nice and welcoming - and the food did not disappoint. My wife and I just moved out of the city and into the suburbs and we were worried that we wouldn't be able to find good pho near our new house. This restaurant proved us wrong and we're so glad it's here. We will be back often. read more

I definitely love that decent Viet food can now be had and I tried a large portion of their menu. The main gripe I have is that the containers used for the noodle soups are just way too tall and narrow to eat out of, particularly for dining in. I recommended to management and initially they provided a nice bowl for dine-in and I thought that would be the norm but then they stated it was the last time and they were not doing that for us again. Basically, we were not welcome back anymore because of this simple idea. That is fine but really the recommendation is not just for us but for all customers in general for a better dine-in experience. Takeout containers would be appropriate if we could properly eat out of it, especially for noodle bowls and noodle soups. read more

I've been on the hunt for good Vietnamese food and finally found something close! It is no Philly, Washington DC, or California, but man does Saigon 88 deliver. This is an authentic restaurant offering a varierty of Pho, Vermicelli Noodles, Broken rice, and Banh Mi! You can also order bubble (tapioca) tea drinks or just some crunchy spring rolls. You know you're in for a good meal when you walk in. There is a delicious aroma the moment you get out of your car and smell the star anise in the lot. The Pho broth is hot, flavorful. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. The banh mi has lots of meat, in a crunchy loaf of bread. Tastes like my childhood and will be here again for sure! read more

This was our first time dining in. From the second we walked in the door we were given the best service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food is always amazing. It's great to have yummy Pho in the area! Beats driving into the city. read more
New pho place in town? We definitely have to check it out! We came here on a Friday night as the store had recently opened. At first, it seemed as the restaurant was set up as a takeout place but we didn't think much of it. We ordered the special pho $11, the thick noodles with pork $9.50 and the fresh spring rolls. As we were paying, I noticed that there was a tip section which we did tip but later on realized that it was self service. We had to clean after ourselves which made me wonder why did we even tip or why they had that line for tips if you have to get sauces/clean yourself. As far as the food, it was good but in my opinion not worth the price. All the food came out in take out containers although we told them that we were eating in. The pho had a good broth but due to the size of the container, we probably got 1/2 the portion of what you would usually get at a viet restaurant. The thick noodles were decent but I was disappointed to find a ton of veggies at the bottom and not as many noodles. The fresh spring roll was ok. The skin was kind of hard and it didn't have pork which usually it comes with. However, it did come with imitation crab. Overall, if you're feeling adventurous, definitely check this place out. This place is amazing! I went there last week for lunch. It was my first visit. I had the spicy ramen with fresh rolls. I have to say it was the best ramen and rolls I have ever had. Although a bit pricey, I will be visiting often. I wish the owner would consider offering a frequent customer perk. I would probably go weekly! I would also like to add that the place was very clean and the staff very friendly. Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

I'm updating my review from last weekend when I drove across the river to a closed restaurant. We decided to give this place another chance and are so glad we did! The decor is very cute with magenta and black walls. The lady who took care of us was very fun and personable. I had a pork BahnMi, chicken and onion soup and a lavender milk tea with fruit gellies. Everything was absolutely delicious. The bread on my sandwich was so fresh and the pork was tender and sweet. So glad we gave it another go! read more

One of the top 5 restaurants in the entire Pittsburgh area. Ramen as good as some of the best places in Los Angeles and incredible sushi rolls. But the best part is the service. Nicest and most hospitable people you could ever hope for at a restaurant. Well done! read more
I'm glad Saigon 88 Express is so close to the office that I'm new too. I'm sure I will be a regular. I ordered the salmon and fish cake noodle soup as I always try something that I've never had before. It was pretty decent. It was basically a phó with a few different ingredients. I look forward to getting bahn mi. My only qualm was I'm not a fan of eating a bowl of soup out a styrofoam cup. It's tough to move the ingredients around and get to the bottom. read more
