Spring roll falls apart as soon as you pick it up
    Angela T.

I really wanted to love this place, but I've tried it three times and all three times I've been completely disappointed. I love spring rolls and every time I've ordered them they've been full of just lettuce and they fall apart and the one I got today was the absolute worst one of them all. Bahn mi was very dry and bland as well. It sucks because this place is very cute and they are very nice but I paid $27. It was disappointed in my lunch big time.

Recently saw Meet Pho advertised on social media a few weeks ago, and told myself that the next time I was in Oakland I'd give it a shot. I found myself in Oakland one weekday midafternoon and looking for a late lunch/early dinner. Parking is a bit of a bear all over--especially with the ongoing construction in the area; however, I got lucky and found street parking close by and walked in for takeout. There is lots of seating and when I showed up at ~3:30pm there was only one other group in the restaurant. It was relatively simple to place a to-go order at the kiosk, but since I was paying with cash I had to use an actual register. If you don't want to receive the to-go bag you can't ask for it to be removed from the check and save yourself $0.25. After ordering I went to the self-serve toppings counter and got hoisin sauce and sriracha too. The pork banh mi came out about 10 minutes later. I was happy with the ratio of protein to condiments and found the flavor of the pork marinade to be nice and not overbearing. The cucumber and carrots were nicely pickled too. Everything tasted fresh and was made-to-order which I appreciated. Nice new spot and glad to know there is another Vietnamese place to patron.

We stopped by on Saturday around 3:30pm. The inside is cute and bright with plenty of tables so it would be good for groups. It's where the old Bao used to be. You scan the QR code and order and pay on your phone and someone brings your food out to you. There is a station to grab small plates, takeout containers, water, napkins, utensils, and sriracha and hoisin sauce. After you finish eating, there's designated bins for you to put trash, dirty utensils, dirty cups, and dirty plates/bowls. I thought the pho broth was delicious and loved the pork vermicelli dish. The different coffees were fun. The grilled chicken was also delicious and the southeast Asian sampler platter was good despite not all of it being necessarily Vietnamese. Overall, I think this a solid addition to the Pittsburgh food scene and I would come back!

Overwhelmingly disappointing experience. Whatever business that was here before changed their name and menu but under same management. There is essentially no service as you order via QR or kiosk and you grab your own utensils and wipe down the tables after (they do state that tip is not expected because of this). I got the Pho combination at $18 with the variety of meat cuts. However, from my photo, you can see that the portion sizes of the meats are incredibly small and laughable at that price point. The broth itself is mid at best but still lacks depth of seasoning and spices. The noodles were definitely overcooked with the texture of how easily it breaks apart (probably 3-5minutes over cooked imo). The meats also were overcooked by how tough it all was, as if it was simmered in the broth and not assembled separately. The plate of garnish is also astonishing with two-three basil and mint leaves (I have never used mint in pho and every pho restaurant does not give mint). Overall I will not come back for any Vietnamese dishes and maybe try one of their Chinese or Malay dishes instead.

My friend and I went there grabbed dinner the first time, ordered Pho combination and Southeast Asia Sampler Platter. The broth is rich and flavorful, noodles are fresh, and portions are generous. I enjoyed every thing from the platter, it hit the spot! Super friendly staff and fast service. Cozy spot--definitely coming back!

Genuinely the best pork spring rolls I've ever had. Meatball pho is also amazing. The best comfort food come here!!!!!

Their food comes out very quickly, the pho broth is fresh, and the noodles are nice and chewy! The environment is clean and tidy, and the service is excellent--any requests are handled promptly!

The filling has more spice forward than am used to-- more of an allspice or anise type flavor? Not bad. Just more prominent. very good soup overall. Lots of green onion. Nice broth. We had the "egg rolls". They are in actuality Cha Gio. Not Chinese restaurant type egg rolls. In other restaurants they are called "spring rolls" (deep fried) . Here apparently the spring rolls are the fresh uncooked rolls. The Cha Gio were good! Note--CASH ONLY. We didn't realize this until we sat down. Fortunately we had enough green paper. And there is an ATM near by per the staff. Also note the prices on the menu are not what they are charging for some things. And things look to have gotten more expensive. As example. The wonton soup is $13 on the physical in restaurant menu but $15 on our bill. And I saw an online picture of the menu of $1.95 for the egg rolls and spring rolls. They are now $6 on the current menu. This is an old school Vietnamese hole in the wall pho place. Paper napkins, plastic chop sticks and vinyl table cloths. 5/5 for what it is. Would definitely return for the Cha Gio. Kid gives thumbs up for the Pho and would Return for that also.

Pho Minh is a no frills, small Vietnamese restaurant in Bloomfield. Paid street parking is available out front and no reservations are required nor recommended. THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY!!! You've been warned. No worries if you do forget, there is a PNC Bank Branch ATM like 2 blocks away. We opted for the fried spring rolls and they were so good. They were also way larger than normal so it's certainly worth their price. Amazing filling and perfectly crispy. I opted for the pho with flank steak and tripe. The broth is amazing. Noodles perfectly cooked. The portion was so big that I took some home for lunch tomorrow but I wanted to continue eating. They have a wide variety of different noodle soups, rices, and vermicillis. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet (Pho Minh Soup), which came with rare beef, beef balls, flank steak, and chicken. The broth was decent -- not the most flavorful I've had, but still satisfying. My partner got the Bun Thang, a vermicelli soup with chicken, egg, pork, and shrimp. Unfortunately, the broth on that one was a bit bland, and the toppings weren't finely shredded. Solid portion size though, since I left very full. The ambiance reminds me of hole-in-the-wall type restaurants - simple, no-frills, and a spot of the locals. Fyi: this place only accepts cash, so come prepared.

It is pretty small inside and there are a few tables outside. You order at the counter or can order by phone or online. Usually I order online and every time I have walked in to find it bagged and ready to go. They did change ordering systems a few months ago which had a few kinks to work out. The food is mostly sandwiches and rice or vermicelli bowls. There also is soup, summer rolls and a cucumber salad. In addition they have coffee and tea, lemonade and bubble tea. I have not tried any drinks but I would like to. My go to is the Feelin' Tofu Banh Mi which has the tofu, veggies and yummy sauce and I like to add some jalapeños for some kick. The bread is flavorful with a little crunch that holds up pretty well. The veggies give such a light tasty crunch. I do feel that the sandwich could do with a little more on it portion wise both for value but also to be more balanced with the amount of bread. It is a tasty sandwich though. We also like to get the tofu summer rolls. The balance here can be a bit off with too much lettuce. However, the sauce is absolutely delicious and could make just about anything taste good. This is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner (but beware they close at 6) or just to grab a drink during the day. We like to pick up the food to take to a brewery to eat. It is usually pretty easy to find street parking close by. Friendly service and tasty food.

It had a lot of ice, so would ask for less next time. The chicken pho had a delicious broth, and the mix-ins were already all added in when I got it. Definitely one of the cheaper places to get it so I'm not complaining and it was perfect on a cold day. Service was great, pretty quick and very accommodating. They also had a small seating area tucked in the back that was nice and quiet to get work done or chat, as well as outside too, but most people get it to go. Their bahn mi is also delicious, and definitely worth a try too!
