Two bowls of Vietnamese pho with fresh herbs and bean sprouts, along with two glasses of dark soda, are on a checkered table at a restaurant.

One of my favorite Pho spots in the city. Located on Penn Ave in Bloomfield, Tram's Kitchen is a small, family owned Viet restaurant serving Pho and other Vietnamese plates. I usually go for the pho dac biet but you have to ask them to fix it up for you. They'll throw in everything that they have that day, which in that case was more shrimp and beef heavy. My friend enjoyed her chicken Pho and we had a great time celebrating her birthday here. Our server was funny and kind, and was super personable. BYOB!

Family owned, super cute & respectable place. got the high school wrestlers workin the tables, they're so fun to talk to and laugh up all the tables, they are amazing. Food is warm, hearty, and soul fulfilling too.

This is such a cute hole in the wall spot! Love that it wasn't crazy on a Friday night. They are cash only I believe. I like that they have a whole veggie menu. The pho was not super piping hot, dark (I prefer a clearer broth) and it's not my favorite pho but it hits the pho cravings. My friend liked their veggie pho and the egg rolls too. Love that they have regulars too! I saw a guy BYOB a big bottle of wine which is honestly the move. The guy who worked here was super nice too! This place is an establishment: it's been here for so many years!

Delicious pho in Pittsburgh! BYOB small spot in Bloomfield. Don't sleep on the bon mi which is also a hit from Tram's. Go to spot for take out or eat in! Service is helpful and always accurate. Love this place!

Got the Pho Hanoi and it was really good! For the price it can't be beat! The service was very friendly, it's a family run establishment so the whole family is helping out! We went on a Friday night so there was a lot of people- lively vibes. Would definitely come again!

One of the reasons I moved back to Pittsburgh was so I could eat here again. No lie. The chicken pho is the best I've ever had. It's a religion and I worship here every week.

Came here for lunch wanted to try this place since it's been in Pittsburgh longest time, the pho chicken broth was salty but its still good, I had the rice noodles soup and the broth is salty as well but it's good. The service was good. It wasn't busy at the time, we got sitter right away. Ambience it seems like it's been there for the longest time. It's really hard to find authentic pho here in Pennsylvania. This place only take cash only.

My husband and I really enjoy a bahn mi and are always on the lookout for a restaurant that does a good job on one. Unfortunately, this was not our place for a repeat trip for a bahn mi. The flavors were lacking and the bread was quite dry. We also got a pork/chicken vermicelli which was also a bit of a let down. The flavors were more bland that we would have liked. The restaurant is dated, but that's not to say food in a dated restaurant can't be good!! Just a note. I think we'd be willing to try Tram's again, since the general population seems to like it. Maybe we just need to order something different next time! OH! And it was cash only! I had no cash, but thankfully there was someone eating in who had cash and they let me venmo them!! So nice!

Long day so I come here. Nice vibes for brunch. Great place for respite. Starting with French hot coffee $6. Appetizers- Fresh Shredded Pork and Shrimp Rolls with Peanut Sauce on side $6. Saigon Soup Noodle $13. Dessert - Banana cake topped coconut milk with peanuts $6. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended. Service is good. Dress very casual..

Came here to get some hot soup on a cold day and we ended up coming during their last hour thinking that they closed at 10pm on a Sunday and the sign on their door says they close at 8:30 which we were already too close to hitting as we arrived around 8:15pm. We went inside to clarify of the time that they actually close since we had two different information, and they had welcomed us in as they actually close at 9pm. We were the only ones in there considering it was the last hour of service, and the owners were super friendly. This was my first time having pho in Pittsburgh after moving here from california, and i can say that it def hit the spot. the broth was light and very homemade which made it super comforting and delicious. I wanted to try their banh mi sandwiches but i felt that it was already too late to order as they were closing, so i will be trying that the next time i come. can't beat the $7 banh mis!!

Tram's is one of the best gems Pittsburgh has to offer. Their service is so friendly and will always make sure you end up with a dish you like. Pho and tofu lemongrass #9 are my two favorites but I also love the vermicelli and spring rolls. Lychee drink makes a nice sweet treat too!

It is now clear TRAM'S are not just remodeling. I truly hope the family is ok. There is not even a recent sign hung up. I hope they reopen sometime. They really do have the best Pho. Does anyone know them personally?

    They are open again!

Is the family that owns TRAM'S ok? They said they would reopen in Dec., then mid Jan. & no new signs since then. They are very private & non-Informative?

They are currently open! The family all seems present

TRAM'S has 2 signs up. A printed one in the window saying they would be closed mid-November until December 2020 for remodeling. The handwritten sign in the window says they…

Does anyone know if TRAM'S is going to be reopening or are they permanently closed? I hope the Tram family is well.

Pretty sure they are just doing renovations and will be open again in a few weeks (sign saying so has been posted since late November, with expected completion date in mid-January). I stopped by a few days ago and they were still under construction.

Pho Minh is a no frills, small Vietnamese restaurant in Bloomfield. Paid street parking is available out front and no reservations are required nor recommended. THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY!!! You've been warned. No worries if you do forget, there is a PNC Bank Branch ATM like 2 blocks away. We opted for the fried spring rolls and they were so good. They were also way larger than normal so it's certainly worth their price. Amazing filling and perfectly crispy. I opted for the pho with flank steak and tripe. The broth is amazing. Noodles perfectly cooked. The portion was so big that I took some home for lunch tomorrow but I wanted to continue eating. They have a wide variety of different noodle soups, rices, and vermicillis. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet (Pho Minh Soup), which came with rare beef, beef balls, flank steak, and chicken. The broth was decent -- not the most flavorful I've had, but still satisfying. My partner got the Bun Thang, a vermicelli soup with chicken, egg, pork, and shrimp. Unfortunately, the broth on that one was a bit bland, and the toppings weren't finely shredded. Solid portion size though, since I left very full. The ambiance reminds me of hole-in-the-wall type restaurants - simple, no-frills, and a spot of the locals. Fyi: this place only accepts cash, so come prepared.

It is pretty small inside and there are a few tables outside. You order at the counter or can order by phone or online. Usually I order online and every time I have walked in to find it bagged and ready to go. They did change ordering systems a few months ago which had a few kinks to work out. The food is mostly sandwiches and rice or vermicelli bowls. There also is soup, summer rolls and a cucumber salad. In addition they have coffee and tea, lemonade and bubble tea. I have not tried any drinks but I would like to. My go to is the Feelin' Tofu Banh Mi which has the tofu, veggies and yummy sauce and I like to add some jalapeños for some kick. The bread is flavorful with a little crunch that holds up pretty well. The veggies give such a light tasty crunch. I do feel that the sandwich could do with a little more on it portion wise both for value but also to be more balanced with the amount of bread. It is a tasty sandwich though. We also like to get the tofu summer rolls. The balance here can be a bit off with too much lettuce. However, the sauce is absolutely delicious and could make just about anything taste good. This is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner (but beware they close at 6) or just to grab a drink during the day. We like to pick up the food to take to a brewery to eat. It is usually pretty easy to find street parking close by. Friendly service and tasty food.

Definitely one of the cheaper places to get it so I'm not complaining and it was perfect on a cold day. Service was great, pretty quick and very accommodating. They also had a small seating area tucked in the back that was nice and quiet to get work done or chat, as well as outside too, but most people get it to go.
