Delicious food, generous portions, polite staff & very clean! My favorite for Chinese food.

Asian Kitchen is hands down offers the best value of nearly any restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. Over the past few years I've had a chance to try many of their dishes and I've never had one I didn't enjoy. The Good: -Consistently delicious food -Multiple cuisines to choose from -Generous portion sizes -Unbelievably low cost -Kind and gracious customer service -Very clean The Bad: -They close at 8pm The Beautiful: I mistakenly ordered a dish without noodles when I meant to order a noodle dish. They were kind enough to cook me up some noodles even though they were about to close. They were very gracious to me when they could have told me it was my fault and sent me away. They stayed a little later to help me get the meal I wanted. I would never have asked this of them, but they insisted. This is very typical of the customer service I've experienced there. Just very lovely people offering good food at good prices to the local community. My favourites: Tom Khai Soup, Pork Eggrolls, Cashew Crusted Chicken, and Double Cooked Pork Price per person $10-20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Nine available vegetable entrees. Most other dishes can have a tofu or vegetable substitution. Absolutely the Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The food was amazing. Huge portions and the service was great. The only thing off was the place is set up like it's Covid still and the seating was all blocked off. Two stars taken away for that on atmosphere. One of my favorite places to get Asian food in the area I like that they have a variety of Chinese and Thai food because it's not always easy to find Thai food in new Kensington. There's is delicious. I also love their Tom yum, Tom kha soup, yellow curry and pad Thai. You definitely can't go wrong with their crab Rangoon. There is no dine in seating and you really don't make any contact with the owners at all you make payment through this glass window. The staff is always very friendly though and happy to have you order from them, so although there isn't much for ambience it makes up for it in quality and tasty food! read more

The food is alright. The service was fast as always. My food just seemed to have a lot of oil though, the sauce my chicken was in was very oily you can see the thick layer of oil on top of the brown sauce. read more

The BEST Asian/Chinese cuisine you can get around here. I've ate at a lot of different Chinese places and this is easily top 3. Large portions for a decent price. Wife got the general tsos and I got the spicy lo mien. Best egg drop soup and crab Rangoon I've ever had. Will be back. read more

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Between the prices, service, quality, portion size and taste it's hard to beat. It's important to point out that this isn't some fancy gourmet place. Rather it's takeout oriented. But it's good. We've probably tried almost everything on the menu throughout the years. As an example, we picked up several lunch specials: chicken lo mein, general tso's chicken, and red curry chicken. All were good, but there is a point to be made.... this is a takeout oriented fusion restaurant, not a Thai specialty place. YET, the red curry chicken for $6 was SIGNIFICANTLY better than than two local Thai restaurants that we ate at in Springdale and Verona which charged $18 & $20 respectively!!! Good Chinese food that doesn't break the bank. Takeout only but staff is friendly and it's a family run business. Our favorites are the Hot & Spicy Lo Mein or the Szechuan Chicken. When they say ready in 20 minutes it's ready on time. read more

Pad Thai was alright, not outstanding . Lo mein was solid, egg rolls and spring rolls were both really good. Food was hot and fast and the lady at the counter was really nice too. Nothing negative but nothing super positive . Will definitely be trying their other stuff since it's local . read more

I ordered for pick up (COVID19 take out). I was told 35-40 minutes. When I arrived at the 30 minute mark I found that you were to stand on the sidewalk until they screamed your phone number that your order was ready for pick up. While standing on the sidewalk for 35 minutes (yes, about double the length of time I was told) I couldn't help but notice the wear your face mask signs just about everywhere. I also noticed that only one of the employees visible in the restaurant was wearing a mask. When the food finally came out they simply kept the change when I paid. When I got the food home one of the orders was undercooked to the point that the vegetables were bitter and the rice was simply a giant white blob. The other was so overcooked that it was barely able to be chewed. On the plus side the fortune cookie was nice and crisp. The Subway next door is this place's best attribute. read more

Asian Kitchen refused to serve me yesterday because I expressed dissatisfaction with my last order, even though I patronized them several times prior. You are not permitted to walk in and place your takeout order; it must be done over the phone because of Covid, and you must be masked to pick it up when ready. She was very arrogant and disrespectful, difficult to understand, and told me to go somewhere else. read more

I've been here 6 times now. I will have plus and minus, as always. I'll do minus first. Which is rare. And it's minor. There's a definite language barrier. I ask for certain things extra spicy. And after two times of these exact words, I've received food that was at a heat level of zero! I totally understand language issues. And don't discount the food, because it's pretty damn good. But, when I want spicy, and emphasize it. I don't want bland. Please relay this! Now plus. Pretty much all of it! The red and green curry dishes are wonderful. The Singapore mei fun is amazing. Tom kria soup, yes please! Look at the difference, not the typical. This is not a general tsos kinda spot. If that's your thing, cool. It's impossible to fuck up. I recently found out about the Asian Kitchen from my kids. Aside from pizza this is their favorite take out and mine too! I worked at a Thai /Korean restaurant in the past and found that their curry dishes were just as good! The kids love the sweet and sour chicken. I tried the pad thai but wasn't crazy about it. Also wish they had peanut sauce but they weren't at all familiar with it. Although I was disappointed that the restroom opened directly to the dining room it is very clean! It was a very pleasant surprise to find this restaurant so far outside the city! read more

Ordered Orange Shrimp & Scallops. It was a wonderful meal in Chef's sauce with some broccoli & white rice. Also ordered chicken fried rice which was also delicious. So many different meals on the menu making it hard to make decision. Truly recommend the Asian Kitchen. read more

I had thai shrimp dumplings and Malaysian satay beef. The dumplings were steamed and full of shrimp and scallions. They were great with the dipping sauce. The Malaysian beef had some good heat, the satay sauce was delicious! Place was busy, service was still pretty good. If you like a lot of spice, you'll want to request more heat in the satay sauce. The food is delicious. Large portions and very fair pricing. My only complaint is there are only 2 shrimp in each shrimp eggroll. We ordered 6 of them last night. They were crispy and delicious, but not enough shrimp in them. I have no issue with them raising the price & adding more shrimp. Otherwise, would have given them 5 stars. I also like that the place is clean.....VERY clean and you can see into the kitchen where they cook. Also very clean. read more

This is one of the tastiest restaurants in the area. Dine-in or take-out is always hot, fresh, and superb. I love the hot and sour soup. It's vegetarian and lacks none of the richness of soups with meat or meat stock. The spring rolls and lo mein are delicious.. looking forward to trying the yellow curry next time. Better than average Asian takeout restaurant. More diverse menu then the average place. So far the red curry with tofu is my favorite. The tofu is good, chicken and shrimp are average. Haven't tried the beef. Good menu, good prices, good food. No complaints. read more

I guess I am on my own here when it comes to bad reviews. I got the Coconut Shrimp and the Cashew Crusted Chicken, the S1. It consisted of 6 bland fried coconut shrimp and a thin, fried chicken patty cut in slices that tasted equally bad. With this being Asian food, this was not what I expected when I ordered this. Every Asian place that I have ever ordered coconut shrimp, it was fried shrimp in the nice thick white sauce. As for the cashew chicken, I was expecting at least some kind of sauce. The only thing saving them from 1 star is the crabmeat rangoons. I might give them another try, but doubtful. Very disappointed. read more
