Food is good. It's right down the road from my house. Is very similar to other local restaurants serving Vietnamese food.

I will say that this was my first time here ordering pho. I ordered the Pho Tom which is beef broth with shrimp. It was $9.75, when you order to go you must order the large. My only complaint, is they're skimpy with the shrimp, only came with 6. I may as well have ordered the Pho Ga Tom which is chicken and shrimp for 8.75 More protein and cheaper. Which makes no sense in my opinion. read more

I love the Saigon#1 on Newtown, and this one is 5 minutes from home with everything so far tasting on par. *nod of approval* I haven't tried the pho yet, but my husband and I dined in for a light dinner - I got curry chicken and he got a stir-fried shrimp dish, each just under $10. We both found our food to be well-balanced and home-cooked tasting. I'll get around to trying the Pho one day and do an update... They do delivery - cool. But on that note, a problem is the takeout a few units down probably offers a tiny bit more bang for your buck AND is bangin' in general. So if you just wanted to pickup a quick meal... there's always that competition. This is the sister company to the Saigon in Newtown, the owners son! The service here is great and you get good portions. I love a good bhan mi and the one here is only $3.95!! You can't beat that. I got the shrimp pho; fresh and crisp not too fishy, and the pork bhan mi with Taro and Thai tea bubble tea! Love it! We told the owner about how the one in Newtown gave us free crispy rolls with a pho order, and he was more than happy to give us some too! If you're looking for a nice, inexpensive fix come here, it's a great tiny place with a good atmosphere. read more

I was first skeptical of trying this place out since there were no reviews at all before. Finally decided to try it tonight after reading the reviews. I ordered the vermicelli bowl combination (with spring roll, shrimp, beef, pork skewers) and Thai tea. It was pretty good! The pickled carrot was kind of bland for me in the vermicelli bowl. I would've liked it a little saltier, but it was still good to say the least! Also, they're very friendly. They also deliver which is a plus. read more

My familia loves Saigon 1 over near Newtown, so when I found out were weren't going in the Newtown Direction, I was confused. Well no need for that because there is another location much closer. Yes!! I ordered the Curry Chicken and my bro ordered the Combination Rice. As an app, I ordered 2 eggrolls. Most of the time , I love the food at Saigon 1, but this time, it didn't sit right with my stomach. I was worried the Chicken was fully cooked enough and I left my bro (who has a stomach of steel) to eat it. Love this place! Its It's my go to for pho takeout since it is the closest to the house. Food is ready in 10 mins. I've been to both location, this location is a lot smaller only seats 5 or 6 tables. If youre looking for good pho I would definitely check this place out. read more

Pho has become one of my favorites in the last year or so. I don't think I'm too picky or too knowledgeable yet to know which pho is the best or not the best, but I like the pho here. It's in a convenient location for me as well. The service can be on and off here, but I don't expect much anyways. All I need is some water and my pho with fish sauce. They are fairly generous about the portions for meat and pretty balanced when it comes to the soil, noodle, veggie, and meat ratio. My go to is the #76. Yum. One thing that I would improve is probably the hotness of the broth. I love my soup HOT! Who wants warm or cold soup? It's not as hot as it could be, but maybe that's a safety precaution to avoid people from getting burnt and suing them. I will be back fa sho! read more

This spot is pretty legit, despite how small it is. Comparable to the size of a chinese take out restaurant. I like that it's in the Salem area which is a pretty close drive for me. I've tried their spring rolls (soft) which isn't bad the sauce is what makes it good. Their egg noodle soup with wonton and pork has the best broth, reminds me of Jade Villa's wonton soup. It's simple but has a slight sweetness with a lot of tastiness and it's hard to explain its just clean and perfect. I would probably get it again. Their vermicelli is alright and rice dishes are alright. Their soup and customer service is where their strengths lie. read more

The food was good and it's a nice sized portion. I ordered the #118. My only qualm and biggest complain is the Thai tea! They use packets! I felt bamboozled! Why am I paying for Thai tea from a packet?! I can just buy my own from the store. I was expecting authentic Thai tea. Why sell it? That's equivalent to buying Kool Aid from a restaurant! I can make my own! Ugh! And the tea tasted watered down and the sugar granules weren't all the way dissolved, so I felt/tasted that too. read more

My sister, fiancé, and I came here to dinner because I wanted to treat my fiancé to his favorite meal. This was the only Vietnamese restaurant still open at the time, so we decided to go here for his pho. We definitely made a great decision in coming here! It's a small restaurant in a shopping center I have frequently passed but never been in. I never would have known to come here otherwise. But this was definitely a great find! There weren't many people there with it being so late, so we were able to sit right away. Our server came right away and got our drink orders. I ordered my usual vermicelli while my fiancé ordered his usual pho. My sister ordered a vermicelli dish as well. We also started with spring rolls as always. All of our food tasted great! My lemongrass chicken was absolutely amazing. We had also ordered a couple of spring rolls to go for my parents, and they were so patient with us. Our server assured us that it would only take a few minutes, and he made sure we got everything we ordered correctly. Since moving from California, I've tried a handful of Vietnamese restaurants for the pho. I found one with great pho, but awful service, and I haven't been back since. I didn't realize how close this Saigon location was, and so I decide to give it a shot on a late night for takeout. The pho was great! But what stood out to me the most is how the (who I assumed to be manager or owner) was so nice and inviting. I asked if they had a specific drink, and while they didn't have it, he let myself and my daughter try some delicious mango drinks on the house! We chatted for a few minutes until our order was ready, and after making us feel so welcome, I will definitely be bringing my family back to try other items on the menu. read more

Grabbed dinner here tonight after seeing all the favorable reviews. It's very nearby and I thought the food would satisfy my craving. The young guy who took my order was very polite. I ordered grilled lemongrass chicken (forgive me for not knowing the Vietnamese name of the dish) and order of crispy rolls. I got my food to go and was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the food when I got home. The food tasted even better than it looked! I ate every bite. I have to admit that the first and the only times I had had Pho was in a food court noodle place at the old Lynnhaven Mall food court, and 1x at a pho place in the Pembroke area with my colleagues. I never really knew where else to get it near my house! My friends kept raving about Saigon 1 on Newtown and were thrilled that it was right around the corner from our homes. So, of course, I needed to check it out. And I get the hype! It. Is. So. Good. The owner, honestly, everyone that I have met that works there is very nice. I get the same things every time. Fresh spring rolls and Pho Tai Nam. They include all of the extras in a to go box and a whole quart size container of soup. I love to add some fish sauce (patis) to it which gives it just a bit more tang to the dish along with their hot sauce combo which they include. I use everything (noodles, bean sprouts, jalapenos, onions, cilantro, all the beef which has a tinge of fat still on them for a bit more flavor, but leave out the basil) and it's so good! Not too salty, but intense, umami flavors. The fresh spring rolls are fat and are made to order which makes it even better. 2 per order with peanut sauce. I would love to venture on the menu, but my order is always soooo good! read more

My husband and I decided to try this place out today since it's right by our place. We usually go to Pho 78 but I think I've found my new favorite pho spot. Ordered the egg noodle soup with seafood : shrimp , squid , fish balls , quail eggs. It was delicious! My husband got the pho with white meat chicken. The owner noticed that my husband was just finishing the soup and asked if he wanted something else instead. My husband was just too full and told the owner the food was good and asked for a to go box. The owner was nice enough to add more soup in. All in all, I was impressed with this place. read more

I just recently moved to Virginia Beach and was in dire straights for some good pho. I was NOT disappointed. The people working were extremely friendly and tended to me and my husband's every need. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. The menu had many options to choose from. The food was fresh and a lot of care was put into crafting the dishes. I had the flank steak pho and my husband had the curry chicken and rice plate (I can't remember their exact names at this moment). Both were delicious! I ordered a small and it filled me up! I've been looking for a good pho place since moving to the area from NoVA. This place is it! Restaurant was clean. The pho broth was delicious, my husband kept slurping the broth which we normally don't drink but it was that good. M-F they have lunch specials for $7.95 which comes with rice or noodles and grilled meat, an egg or spring roll and a small bowl of pho on the side. Great deal for the amount of food.
