Perfect place to come grab some soup to warm you up on a cold rainy day. They are quiet small so be aware the space filles up fast. The staff is always nice and helpful when trying to pick the right thing. My husband and I stopped in and he got the PHO THAI NAM(round beef and flank soup) and a small roll appetizer and I got a small PHO GA (white meat chicken soup). The broth was the same in both soups and it was nice and strong in flavor and definitely warmed me up. The meat in both was tender and easy to split with the chopsticks. We took the left over broth home for later. A definite try if your nearby.
The food was great! The pho came out fast and hot. They have small and large options. The small was almost too much to finish. The prices are much more reasonable than a lot of Pho restaurants I've visited. I'll definitely be back.
Craving a bowl of pho, I decided to check out a spot nearby. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed--the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a mellow vibe that made it easy to relax. Since I was the only customer at the time, the service was attentive and quick. I ordered the phở đặc biệt, a combination bowl featuring an assortment of beef cuts. What stood out to me immediately was the portion size--this was the first pho place that truly filled me up. And that says a lot, considering I had skipped breakfast and was absolutely starving.
The pho broth quality was clean and super flavorful. The space had lots of seating and very clean. The staff was kind and quick with our food!
Had been to two other Pho spots before coming here which is further from us. Stop now in your search for delicious clean broth Pho!!! Seat yourself kind of place while being greeted immediately! They have all the condiments on the table to spice up the delicious Pho broth. I have to say without adding anything the Pho is lights out and above all others. The broth is clear and carefully made so. Meat was tender, veggies fresh and yummy. The rice noodles are thin and light. Overall 10 out of 10! Delicious!
So good delicious absolutely fantastic My daughter has been craving a good bowl of pho and had a sore throat today so we came here after seeing the doctor we ordered hot green tea to help her throat it was very good. Once we got the the bottom it was a bit bitter tho Our food was amazing her chicken was kind of like lunch meat slices but she really enjoyed it I really enjoyed the grilled pork on my meal and the fried egg. The meal looked exactly like the photo in the menu which never happens hahahaha The service was decent nothing spectacular and the dining area was simple made me think of a Chinese take out spot But the food was everything!
I really enjoy going to Saigon One Pho (SOP). Tucked away on Pleasant Valley Rd, in the same shopping strip as Food Lion, I love the coziness of SOP. There is very limited seating, but I have visited a few times now, and I just seem to come during the less busy times, so it's never felt crowded. - Parking - Center lot. - Noms - Things I have tried: * Banh xeo tom thit - this is a crepe made of eggs and rice flour. Comes out super crispy, filled with steamed bean sprouts, shrimp and pork slice, served with a bunch of fresh veg and herbs. Don't forget the dipping sauce! YUM! *Spring rolls - these are the non-cooked rice paper rolls. They always roll them to order and are always fresh and tight. The paper is always moist and never partially dried! Love the dipping sauce that comes with it. *Shrimp toast - I would have liked a more equal shrimp to toast ratio, but it was very crispy, airy and chewy all at the same time. The "toast" is made of the baguette they must use for the banh mis. It comes with the fish sauce-based dipping sauce. Better to share as having 2 whole pieces is quite filling because of the thick slices of baguette. *Pho - I've had the tai nam and my kids get the pho no meat. The broth is super tasty and "clean" if that makes sense. IYKYK. Always plenty of meat in the meat phos. One thing I've noticed at SOP is that for the side plate of veggies to put in your soup, they blanch the bean sprouts. Just an observation. I guess, they're trying to speed up the cooking process in the hot soup, or maybe people complained about the "freshness" of the bean sprouts. *Bun bo hue - this is the pho's spicy version, normally served with the fat and round rice noodle, but I always opted for the pho rice noodles, because I prefer the pho noodles. *Vietnamese iced coffee - always great and a must at any Vietnamese spot. Note to self for future: - try the bo cuon la nho (beef in grape leaves) and the cha gio chuoi (banana spring rolls with ice cream). Service is always kind and friendly. Enjoy and go out and support!
Saigon One Pho is a friendly, family owned restaurant that takes great care using fresh ingredients with great home cooking. We especially loved the appetizer of seasoned beef wrapped in grape leaves. The beef was tender and richly marinated and the grape leaves added an unusual, pungent flavor. The soft wrapped spring rolls were filled with fresh shrimp and pork. The accompanying peanut sauces were the best we've ever had. On the main courses, the lemongrass chicken was savory, tender, and unusually well seasoned. The large seafood pho (82) was distinguished by very fresh ingredients. Most pho restaurants do not take that much care. They have one dessert: Banana crispy roll with strawberry ice cream which was light and delicious and not overly sweet. The servings were generous, the service friendly and attentive - not rushed, - which made for a wonderful experience. And the prices were very reasonable.
Came for a quick dinner and we were not disappointed. We were greeted quickly and friendly then got to choose our seats. Our server came and got our orders and the food was brought out respectfully. The pho was delicious! It was flavorful, clean, and hearty! We will definitely be back!
Pretty stand-up local spot with amazing pho. We stopped by to get some pho, and we were not disappointed. From the start, I figured this would be a great place because most of the tables were packed, and there was a constant stream of people coming in to pick up their take-out orders. I had the standard beef pho with a chicken and shrimp egg crepe. Both were delicious!! The service was pretty good. Even though the order was slightly messed up, the restaurant took care of it with the quickness. Since this restaurant is in the neighborhood, I have a feeling that I will return to try out more pho options . . . especially when winter comes around.
I got the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork but I wasn't too thrilled with the pork. It tasted like it was spam with a salty, ground up pork shaped into little patties. Service was alright.

Finally found my Banh Xeo spot in the 757! The crepe batter was satisfyingly crunchy with a delicious pork and shrimp filling inside. Perfect with some fresh lettuce and herbs and dipped in nuoc cham! Not to be outdone, the pho broth here is one of my favorites in the area! Lots of depth and rich in flavor. I didn't leave a drop of soup by the time I was done. Highly recommend a visit to this no-frills spot! read more

Service this time is a 2. The place only had 1 customer when I got there. I got this weird look (not happy to see a customer) from the owner who was seated. He asked if dine in or take out. I said find in and waiting for another. When my friend arrived he didn't even say hello to her, just waited until we motioned we were ready to order. We were never asked if everything was okay; the owner just sat there playing games on his phone. The other customer needed something, called out to him but he wasn't paying attention! I ordered Bun Bo Hue (beef noodle soup) and my friend ordered Pho. The Bun Bo Hue was okay, a 3 rating. The only thing that was lacking is the meat, normally it comes with pigs knuckles. The broth had a slight after taste. read more

Still reasonable prices. Flavor is definitely good and authentic. The Bánh xèo was ok, wish it had more meat in it, still prefer my mother in laws instead. However, the rest was delicious and with coming back for. Sat immediately after arrival, food had good timing, and the bathroom was even clean. read more

It's the Lunar New Year everyone!! Since my boyfriend and I have no family here, we wanted to eat some Vietnamese food to get into the new year spirit. Saigon One Pho hit the spot for some authentic-tasting dishes that were delicious!! Saigon One is a small family-owned restaurant that has a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes. What makes this place unique is finding uncommon dishes that remind you of home, like Bahn Xeo that you will not see at most restaurants. The Pho was delicious!! The broth is on the sweeter side and they do not cut corners to make the broth or rinse the noodles before adding the broth. The price point for the portion size you receive is fair compared to the chain of Pho 79s that have dominated the Hampton Roads area. You cannot beat a large bowl of Pho for $14 that is delightful!! Not only is the Pho a winner...the Bun Bo Hue is out of this world! Before Saigon One Pho, I had to drive up to Nova Eden Center to satisfy my cravings. The Pho 79s don't offer Bun Bo Hue and ever since I ordered from another restaurant called Saigon #1 of Newtown that was inedible, I was hesitant to keep searching. So glad I ordered the Bun Bo Hue because it's everything that I was looking for. The broth is spicy, sweet, and flavorful. The Vietnamese ham was in the broth and plenty of beef-to-noodle ratios. I am also glad they provided shredded cabbage on the side because this makes a difference!! The food was so good that I even ordered a Bahn Mi to go so I can try another dish on the menu. The restaurant just had one server and it looked like the restaurant owner's son. He was nice and attentive to all our questions and requests. The owner/staff were also friendly when we asked questions about the menu. I will be back and ordering my Bahn Xeo cravings the next time I am here. read more

(HEY YOU! PLEASE TRY! IT IS A MUST!!!) MARVELOUS, QUALITY, WELCOMING-- These are the three words that come to mind immediately after our visit here last night. After some time shopping I wanted to take my significant other to a spot I had in mind originally, but sadly it was going to close soon due to the new times because of Covid. Upon receiving this news I took a shot in the dark and went to try Saigon #1 (a brand new restaurant I haven't heard of or tried which was a 15 minute drive away and an extra 35 minute drive back home.) Once we stepped through the door we felt a rush of excitement as it felt homie and we received a warm WELCOMING from the only two workers who appeared to be the owners of the restaurant. For an appetizer we stuck with the egg rolls which came out crunchy and fresh from the fry (highly recommend) and for variety we ordered 2 pho (#s 80 and 82) and 2 banh mi (#19) sandwiches. As two fans of Pho and Vietnamese Cuisine we both agreed that Saigon #1 is exactly as the name says which is #1. As we took our first bites from our Pho BOOM! It happened with haste! It was an immediate and MARVELOUS slap to the tastebuds with a burst of flavor and awe. Words really can't explain how good it was all we knew is that we just kept talking about how amazing the food and service was while we were stuffing our faces. From the Egg rolls to the Pho to the Banh mi, everything was consistent and that consistency being it was made with superior QUALITY, FLAVOR, and TASTE. Hopefully the owners read this and wear a well deserved smile! Thank you for being the icing on the cake for us last night, Saigon #1 is definitely our go-to now and we will be back really really soon. read more

Ordered the beef and pork sandwich. The bread was like a regular sandwich roll. The beef and pork would taste better with the veggies added. Waited 15-20 minutes for the take out order. The place was hard to find because it was hidden behind the Food Lion supermarket. read more

Honestly I would have given this place a higher rating but the guy kept forgetting our order , forgetting my water , and did not wear a mask most of the time we were there. I understand it's a small place but cleanliness and safety is key. I also didn't appreciate my appetizer came after my main entree. It's not like my party of four ordered a lot- literally 4 entrees and four appetizers. It's a shame because the spring rolls were good and the bun bo hue was tasty and savory. Maybe it was my hunger saying it was good, but I hope that the staff took care of the customers better :/ read more

Small family owned restaurant. Hot food on a cold weather. Nothing fancy but good food overall. It just took a while to get the food out unlike other Vietnamese restaurants I visited but overall, highly recommended. read more
I'm not a huge fan of pho, but after coming here, I completely understand why people are and am convinced that I might be now too. The place is very clean, and the service is great. The small bowls are enough to fill me up. There's a plate of basil, lime, jalapeños and bean sprouts that comes out to add to your pho. I ordered the #76 (flank and round eye or something) and it was delicious. I would have paid more for that meal. Nice little ambiance going because there were booths. This place is reasonable, in a convenient location with tons of parking, great service and great food! read more
