This little gem may be tucked away in a strip mall in VA Beach, but let me tell you the food was amazing! Fresh, delicious and definitely authentic! I usually keep my reviews very detailed, but this will be short and sweet. The pho is magical. There was a day that I felt like I was dying. I had a full day of back-to-back events like a gallery opening, community center event, even a work shift, and I was ready to call it because I couldn't do the rest of the day. But my brother ordered a chicken pho and a beef pho and afterwards?? It's like I was brought back to life. I am writing to update my review. Saigon 1 continues to be one of my favorite places to grab a bite in the area. My book club decided to meet at Saigon 1. We ended up having more people show than expected. The staff were so gracious and accommodating of our extra guests. Food came out quickly and was delicious. My Grandson wanted Pho. We had to order out because my Son was working long hours. A search of Yelp found Saigon 1 with great reviews. So that was the choice. My viewing of the menu was quick since we were ordering late. It had been so hot for days that I couldn't fathom ordering a hot soup based dish. So I decided to eat leftovers. My Grandson ordered Pho Tai & Summer Rolls. Oh why didn't I look closer at the menu & see that they weren't fried. Their Rice Paper wrapped offering looked so yummy. But what really made me envious was my Son's Bún Tôm Nướng. It looked absolutely amazing. The shrimp were grilled perfectly & the Vermicelli noodles looked so appetizing. My Son proclaimed it ""Solid", his high compliment. The Summer Roll disappeared before Grandma could sneak a bite. I can't wait to try the exact same entree preceded by the Soft Summer Rolls with Grilled Meat and Vegetables, of course wrapped in Rice Paper. We are regulars in this place bec my son love their grilled pork that I even order it yo DoorDash if he wants it. So we ordered it again and did not disappoint, we also had the soft spring roll and fried which are also good. Since we are frequent here I decided to try something else so I ordered the Pancake w shrimp/pork. It was not good the wrap/pancake is so hard and the filling were just boiled no flavor at all. Not recommended. The service was okay but she forgot my husband's order and so he decided not to eat anymore since we are half way already and I was not happy w my food too. There was a decent little amount of people in there, but there's plenty of seating so even if more people were inside, seating wouldn't be an issue at all. The service was very friendly and comfortable. I ordered the large P6 beef pho (10/10) and the A2 soft spring rolls (9/10). Overall everything tasted great and came out in a decent timely manner, fresh, and piping hot. I was looking for a new pho restaurant and this was my first time trying Saigon #1, they're def my new go to now. I really want to try their boba next time I go! I spent around $25 for my meal. I was really craving Vietnamese food and this was the only place open. We did come 30 minutes to closing which definitely doesn't make it optimal. But, service was super kind and quick. Both the dishes were delicious and tasted as they should. I was curious about trying the Banh mi because it was $6.95, a little bit cheaper than other places. My only complaint is the bun Bo hue didn't have all of the cuts of meat like pork ankle in it which was disappointing. We ordered the beef fried rice, chicken fried and brisket pho. Both the beef and chicken fried rice were AWFUL. No flavor, they were bland which I have never had at a Viet place. Furthermore, the rice wasn't well mixed, as there were several chunks of white rice pieces. The brisket pho was ok but only had 6 thinly sliced pieces of meat. I am highly disappointed. Wow! Okay so my husband and I were craving Saigon like from home in Cali. The food here in VA is okay but not like Cali. We were so surprised at how GOOD the food was. We got a chicken bah-mi sandwich and the beef phó and the bread for the bah-mi was so soft ,but with a crunch,and the chicken was perfect. The broth for the phó was so good before we even put all the sauces and stuff we wanted. My husband literally won't let me eat his left overs when we go home. The service was literally amazing. Pho better than Pho79 in my opinion this my third two days in a row this week. The broth is delicious.

I came here recently on a food run for my coworkers during lunch. I was really craving Pho, but I don't like having my noodles and broth and other ingredients separated and then having to combine them myself. So I got an order of shrimp summer rolls and a grilled pork chop over rice. I also got a cup of Vietnamese Iced coffee; though I was skeptical they would make it correctly. And I was right. Their Vietnamese Iced coffee was awful. Way too much condensed milk so it was way too sweet! And overloaded with ice. Shrimp summer rolls with the classic peanut sauce was delicious though! Glad to see they don't skimp out on their shrimp. And the grilled pork chop over rice was pretty good too. Pork chop had good flavor, and eaten with the rice was a perfect combo! I would come back here to try their Pho. read more
