Bun w. Grilled shrimp.
Carol S.

My Grandson wanted Pho. We had to order out because my Son was working long hours. A search of Yelp found Saigon 1 with great reviews. So that was the choice. My viewing of the menu was quick since we were ordering late. It had been so hot for days that I couldn't fathom ordering a hot soup based dish. So I decided to eat leftovers. My Grandson ordered Pho Tai & Summer Rolls. Oh why didn't I look closer at the menu & see that they weren't fried. Their Rice Paper wrapped offering looked so yummy. But what really made me envious was my Son's Bún Tôm Nướng. It looked absolutely amazing. The shrimp were grilled perfectly & the Vermicelli noodles looked so appetizing. My Son proclaimed it ""Solid", his high compliment. The Summer Roll disappeared before Grandma could sneak a bite. I can't wait to try the exact same entree preceded by the Soft Summer Rolls with Grilled Meat and Vegetables, of course wrapped in Rice Paper. Having ordered delivery I can't speak to the location itself. But the next time I'm on Newtown Road I'll certainly look for the restaurant that prepared such awesome looking food.

P6 Pho Dac Biet

Went here with my besties for dinner around 6 pm on a Thursday. There was a decent little amount of people in there, but there's plenty of seating so even if more people were inside, seating wouldn't be an issue at all. The service was very friendly and comfortable. I ordered the large P6 beef pho (10/10) and the A2 soft spring rolls (9/10). Overall everything tasted great and came out in a decent timely manner, fresh, and piping hot. I was looking for a new pho restaurant and this was my first time trying Saigon #1, they're def my new go to now. I really want to try their boba next time I go! I spent around $25 for my meal. My overall rate of experience : 10/10

SP2 Bun Bo Hue
Jessica T.

I was really craving Vietnamese food and this was the only place open. We did come 30 minutes to closing which definitely doesn't make it optimal. But, service was super kind and quick. Both the dishes were delicious and tasted as they should. I was curious about trying the Banh mi because it was $6.95, a little bit cheaper than other places. My only complaint is the bun Bo hue didn't have all of the cuts of meat like pork ankle in it which was disappointing. Overall in both dishes, there wasn't as much food as other restaurants but it still tasted good and the people were nice.

Made an uber eat order for pick up, but changed my mind to eat in the restaurant. The staff was accommodating with my change. Great service! I got the P6 Pho Dac Biet, it was delicious, the broth was savory. It didn't come with the usual bean sprout, lime, and Thai basil.

Very delicious! This was my first time coming to Vietnamese and not getting pho. My bowl was SO good! I was so happy I chose it. My mom and I were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere, and it got a little busy while we were in there- I was surprised! The service was still phenomenal. We will definitely return!

I love this place so much! I'm always greeted with a smile! The service is balanced, you are checked on of course but, they give you your space. The atmosphere is calm I love the music in the back ground. I get the same thing every time : chicken pho and pork bahn mhi. The food comes nice and hot. The broth is soooo flavorful and addictive. The bag I mhi bread is so soft like they made it in the oven there! The pork is so juicy and flavorful and I love that they put mayo on it! I can't wait for my next visit

The food is ok but the bubble tea is not bubble tea -- it's a smoothie. Big difference and not nearly as good.

Lacks distinct flavor, very bland. Bubble green tea tastes more like jasmine tea. It's one and done for me.

I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was able to sit wherever I wanted. I knew exactly what I wanted so I ordered right away. My "go-to" is always the small Pho Tai, Nam and Gau, which includes round steak, brisket and flank. I also order the Golden Fried Wontons as well, they are delicious. The Pho was brought out in about 10 mins! I added sriracha, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, bean sprouts, jalapeño, Thai basil, and lots of lime juice! Those flavors pair perfectly with each other and it was absolutely amazing! I love that this location is close to my house! The staff is always super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. By the time I left, it was pretty packed. If you're looking for a great, Pho spot, definitely check them out!

I ordered takeout, but the restaurant itself has plenty of seating. When I walked in, I was greeted right away and directed to the counter to order. The service was quick--I didn't have to wait long at all, which is always a plus. I started with the beef skewer, which came with a very small side of salad--just a couple slices of cucumber, some tomatoes, and a bit of lettuce with dressing. It was a nice surprise since I wasn't expecting anything extra, but if you're looking for a real side salad, you might want to order one separately. The beef skewer itself was delicious--tender, easy to bite into, and the slightly charred ends added great flavor. Definitely a solid appetizer or side. For my main, I got the vegetarian pho with extra tofu and no mushrooms, and it really hit the spot. The broth was flavorful and comforting. I added jalapeños and oyster sauce, and honestly, I couldn't eat it fast enough. The noodles and veggies were fresh and satisfying. Overall, a great experience--I'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, on every occasion we've visited, we've seen an older gentleman who appears to be a manager or owner repeatedly sneeze, cough, and hack in the front of the restaurant. On our most recent visit, he sneezed several times without covering his mouth or sanitizing his hands, then handled a customer's glass. This has been a repeated concern for years and really raises questions about basic hygiene. I want this restaurant to succeed because the food is wonderful, but this needs to be addressed.

Ordered the eggrolls for appetizers. It came out really fresh so it was really hot. Fillings were meaty and nicely season, crispy, and paired great with the sweet dipping sauce. The vermicelli bowl was huge with rice noodles, veggies and my choice of protein which was grilled beef. The beef being on sticks were kind of hard to take off to mix into the bowl. But the flavor of the beef was delicious. Sweet, salty, umami, and savory. Service was great. He came to check up on us a few times and refilled our water. There is also a bar section with bar stools and TVs with sports in. Great chill place to grab some good Vietnamese food.

This place looked like it specialized in bánh mì, so we figured we'd give it a shot. The shop itself is really cute, and they also have boba drinks, which pulled me in because I love boba. I ordered a Thai milk tea along with our sandwiches. That's kind of where things went downhill. The tea tasted really artificial...like, not something I've had before, and the color was off too. It was also super sweet. My boyfriend tried it and said the same thing. For food, we split two sandwiches: he got the marinated pork and I got the roasted pork. The roasted pork was honestly disappointing--almost all fat. I get that pork has some fat, but this was excessive. Most pieces were barely meat, and the texture was just not good. I ended up picking around it just to eat something. The marinated pork was actually pretty solid. But since the other sandwich was such a miss, we basically ended up eating a marinated pork and what felt like a veggie sandwich. Overall, I think we'll keep looking for other spots when we're in the mood for bánh mì.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by T. who was incredibly nice and helpful. I let her know this was my first time visiting and asked for a few recommendation. After asking about my flavor preferences, she recommended that I try the Vietnamese coffee or the salted coffee. I decided to order the Vietnamese coffee along with a beef Spring roll. The coffee was excellent, strong and well-balanced. The spring roll was fresh and delicious. My only suggestions would be to include less ice in the drink and to use shaved beef instead of thinly sliced beef in the spring roll. I enjoyed my first experience so much that I returned for a second visit. This time, I tried the Peach Black Tea and a croffle with strawberry sauce. Based on T's recommendation, I adjusted the tea's sweetness, and it was very refreshing, with the sliced peaches being a great addition. The croffle was okay, I missed the sweet sugar crust typically found on them. The Strawberry sauce was also a miss for me. I found it to be very watery, more like a syrup made for a drink vs a dessert topping. Overall, I had a wonderful visit on both occasions and really appreciated T's excellent customer service and recommendations.
