The best pho in the city of Surprise? I have to agree! The decor and the ambiance are just right- the calming green color, the dimmed light, the spacious seating area...they even opened up the beautifully decorated private dining room for service. The place was packed on a Friday night, which is a great sign. Then service- the pace was spot on. (Hot take here:) Unlike an authentic Vietnamese restaurant where the server comes to your table 30 seconds after you sat down, we were given ample time to explore the menu and asked questions. My friend is a usual guest here, so she knew what she wanted. Meanwhile, I was struggling to decide what to get, so I causally asked if they had a special for the night, and they did! It was a Siu Mai egg noodles with the most delicious broth! We also ordered the rice paper spring rolls as an appetizer (if they can't do the basics right, then we have a problem), which was so fresh! Love it! I couldn't help but staring at the wall full of awards while I was waiting for my food. Wow just wow. I am so glad I got to experience this place in my first time ever in Surprise!

We started with a few appetizers, which were actually quite good and gave us high hopes. Unfortunately, the main dishes really missed the mark. I ordered the yellow Thai curry and it honestly gave off frozen-meal vibes. The chicken was cooked separately and added in, which made it incredibly dry -- so dry that I ended up sending it back. The overall flavor and texture just didn't work, and the dish felt more like something reheated than freshly made. What really stood out (in a bad way) is the price. This place is way overpriced for what you're getting. I've had much better Vietnamese food for half the cost, and nothing here justified the high prices. At the end of the day, you're paying a premium for fairly basic rice and noodle dishes that don't live up to expectations. Disappointing experience overall, especially given the cost.

Wow! An excellent Vietnamese restaurant where the robust menu is in English so you can tell what it says! We had the Lemongrass Brussel Sprout appetizer to start. Yum! Not overcooked, juicy with fresh crunchiness! So tasty! Also had a Dim Sum style soft bun filled with sweet pork & mushroom to start. Then the Outstanding Lobster & Steak fried rice special and Garlic Shrimp & Steak noodles, Huge Ban Mi sandwich with steak, cilantro, egg, and grated carrot. One of us had the Pho style soup and it was top notch! We got the Crème brûlée for dessert what a grand finale!

I really enjoyed my pho here! Interestingly, the difference between pricing for a small bowl and a large bowl is only $1. Not sure how different the sizes are from each other because we of course went for a large bowls. The broth was good. They gave more noodles than I would typically like. I was definitely impressed by the amount of meat included. The presentation of the toppings was wonderful with an organized platter of bean sprouts, basil, hoisin sauce, and hot sauce. Looking at the menu, I do feel like some of the items are priced pretty high. The service was perfect with very kind staff. The environment was upscale, but still cozy. Overall, I was happy with my visit and would definitely come again!

Unfortunately, our experience at Saigon Kitchen was a bit lack luster. They have great reviews on Yelp, so it may have just been an off day or we ordered the wrong things. When we got there around lunch time, we were seated immediately. A couple of family members wanted hot tea, which they didn't have so we ended up getting Thai tea. This was pretty good, not overly sweet. For our meals, we ordered a variety of things including spring rolls for an appetizer, bahn mi, garlic noodles, one of the sizzling platters, etc. I personally had the garlic noodles with lemongrass chicken which I wasn't a fan of. The chicken tasted like it was coated in mostly mayonnaise, and given that it was fried, it didn't have a nice crisp outside. Others mentioned the meat in their dishes was overcooked as well. Overall, not likely to return personally but glad we tried it. If you're in the area and stop by, try out their fresh spring roll appetizer. That was the best thing we had.

My taste buds were craving Vietnamese food. After some "serious investigation" on Yelp, my eye landed on this restaurant, and it wasn't far from where I was at the moment for work. When I got there, I was like, whoa, this place is hoppin'! The only available seat in the house was in their lounge, and truth to be told, the lounge was cozy. The bartender slash waiter was friendly and on his game. I'm usually a pho fanatic, but i decided to mix it up. I opted for the shrimp crispy egg roll as an appetizer and took the bartender's advice on the Asian spicy zing ribs. Let me tell you, my taste buds were doing the happy dance. If you're in the Surprise, Bell Road area, you gotta give Saigon Kitchen a try!

This place was my favorite and my family's. We've always made sure to bring every friend that's visited us in town, here immediately, but it's just not the same. Ever since they took off the poke nachos and the sesame balls from the menu, it hasn't been the same. I started ordering their pho which is really good but they give you the smallest amount of noodles. My kids love their chicken pho and it is great but my daughter always needs to order a second bowl because there's barely any noodles in it. The soup comes out hot so we take the noodles out of the bowl and put it on a plate and she finishes it in just a few bites. She's 5 and never finishes her food anywhere else but they give such little of noodles. Pleaseeee bring back the poke nachos and sesame balls. We've tried all the other desserts, and nothing comes close to the sesame balls.

Classy vibe, excellent food/reasonable to expensive menu. Service was A+ in the lounge with Johnny both at the bar and serving. Attentive service, good food and a handsome personable Johnny ... who could ask for more. We will be back!

Just okay... if you have been to an authentic place, then This is not the place for you! The spring rolls were just okay and the wings were not spicy at all. I would definitely not come back here for Vietnamese food but it did the trick for lunch. No wait and something light is what I was looking for. Now I know to avoid asian food in surprise? The ambiance was nice and modern but the food was definitely subpar.

Our new favorite place in Surprise. The SK Lounge is a hidden jewel! Crystal chandeliers, blue and red velvet seating, dim lighting to create a very intimate and ambient atmosphere. Soft music from the days of Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and more. The owner and employees are very attentive and friendly making for a truly enjoyable dining or bar experience! Love the food and drinks! This lounge is just pure 'class'!

    Garlic butter, wings

Tonight I celebrated my birthday with some friends, and we felt very welcomed by the hostess, waiters, and owner himself. We started our dinner with some garlic butter wings, and they were hands-down The best wings ever, the flavor was very good and the wings came out crispy and juicy. I couldn't be happier with our food. The owner himself made us feel very welcomed and I am so glad that I chose to celebrate my birthday tonight at Saigon kitchen!

That alone was frustrating, but the food was even more disappointing. The Vietnamese crepe we used to enjoy was completely off. It was thick and doughy like pizza crust instead of the light, crispy texture it used to have (which all Vietnamese crepes have, actually). We ended up throwing most of it away and just eating some of the veggies inside. The spring roll was another letdown. Basically all noodles, hardly any veggies or meat, and only "two shrimp" (really just one shrimp cut in half). I had actually read another review saying the same thing right before writing my update. My husband and I laughed since we were literally about to write the same. Customer service didn't help either. I had to repeat my order three times because the staff member kept stopping to talk to a coworker. It felt really dismissive. Even the Thai tea, while tasty, was only filled about 3/4 of the way. The only decent part of the meal was the vermicelli bowl. I'm not sure if ownership changed, but the flavors, portions, and overall experience were way off from what this place used to be. Honestly, you're better off going to the other Vietnamese spot nearby for better flavor and value.

But somehow I had saved this one to my map so I came here with a couple friends for dinner last week. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered spring rolls, crispy chicken dumplings and a "dragon egg" boba tea "smoothie." Though it was on their menu under "Smoothies" it was not a smoothie at all. It was an icee. That said, it was still delicious and I loved the fresh and fruity boba balls. The flavor was more lychee than strawberry, but I didn't mind. My friends got an appetizer plate and 5-spice chicken. Both enjoyed their food very much. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but does have sit-down service. Very chill vibes, and prices were fair. The place was clean, staff was attentive, and the peanut sauce that came with my spring rolls wasn't spicy, which I appreciated! I wanted to just chill and take my time to eat, but the server never came back again for me to order another drink so I decided I should just get out then since they didn't want me there long it seemed let's start off with the food review tho my spring rolls tasted off like there was something a bit funky with them, as well as how to frozen texture on the inside and I was given the smallest amount of fish sauce I've ever seen every other place. I've been to is a huge amount or like a generous amount of that sauce dividend but I got like barely anything so I was like trying to scoop it at the end, but yeah, definitely funky tasting rolls. The pho itself consisted mostly of noodles and a decent amount of meat at least but with the combination, I felt like the tendon they just gave the biggest chunks possible, which were extremely hard to try to bite through unusual for me to come across I love tripe and tendon the most in the combos, the regular size is generously sized tho no need to pay extra for a larger size unless you're really hungry the flavor of the broth tasted good nothing special but it was a alright meal prob won't come back but I don't think it was entirely a waste of time

Needing something light and fresh after a day of travel, I did an order of shrimp goi cuon (summer rolls), bún thit nuong (vermicelli + grilled pork), and iced tea. The summer rolls, filled with shrimp + vermicelli + mint + lettuce, held together well, even when paired with not too thick peanut sauce. The vermicelli bowl (vermicelli + grilled pork + cucumber + pickled radish + bean sprouts + peanuts + mint) provided a great mix of flavours (smokey / salty pork, sour radish), and improved even more with some of the pickled dipping sauce from the summer rolls Geared towards takeout, service is speedy, the food satisfying, and the portions more than generous.

This place seemed like our best bet. Since this time of year is busy in AZ with so many snowbirds, I booked a reservation through the online portal. It didn't end up being necessary. We were seated right away and never asked about our reservation. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. From the parking lot, it looks small and more like a fast food place, but it is actually looks double the size once you get inside. It has a nice sit-down ambience with new, clean, and somewhat rigid booths. Straight posture was definitely encouraged here in these upright seats. Although it does seem like a lot of people might order items to go, we were shielded from any traffic while eating. To start, we shared some sushi rolls. The spicy salmon was nice, but I really liked the sweetness of the unagi eel roll. They were a little sloppy in preparation, but this didn't impact the flavor. Each plate came with 8 pieces of sushi, some sliced ginger, and a small ball of wasabi. My uncle asked for an additional plate of wasabi and the server delivered it, but he commented on how they usually end up throwing it away because most people don't eat much of the green ball of fire. The table had a container of disposable chopsticks as well as two types of soy sauce. I was delighted to find the 50% less sodium variety with the green label. small plates with one paper napkin each were part of the setup. We had to ask our server for more napkins after my husband splatter soy sauce all over himself. The server brought just two more. It really wasn't enough to fix the 101-dalmatian spots he had acquired from the black soy splattered all over his white jacket. We also ordered curry. My uncle indulged in the pumpkin curry with shrimp. The bowl was massive - much bigger than mine. I had the red curry with tofu. It was beautifully presented with perfectly formed cubes of extra firm tofu lined up in the yellow soup. There was also bright red strips of bell pepper adding a pop of contrasting color. Unfortunately it didn't seem like my curry was well blended. It was as if they added cold coconut milk to a hot pan and it possibly heated up too fast causing it to separate and slightly curdle. Despite this, it still tasted good. I did have some trouble with the large size of tofu and the length of the bell pepper strips. I wish both had been just a tad bit smaller to fit in my mouth. I only had a spoon, so cutting the pieces wasn't an option. To go, I ordered the spicy green beans with shrimp to take home to my mom. She enjoyed two meals out of it. The shrimp was large and plump. Plus there was no shell or tail to pull off making it much easier and more pleasant to eat. Our bill came out to just over $100 with iced tea and sake added to the above. It seemed reasonable for the five plates we ordered. We had come during happy hour where certain items are a dollar cheaper, but I don't think we ended up ordering off that discounted menu. All and all, it was a decent meal and experience. I might come back here because of the convenient location and the availability of both sushi and Thai curry on the menu.
