Food was tasteless (and what had flavor, was odd tasting); it was tough & chewy; and of most of the ingredients were of poor quality. We'd eaten here many times before in years past, but it's been a year or so since we've been back. We ordered fresh spring rolls, potstickers, orange chicken, & pork pad Thai, with a side of brown rice. The only thing that was any good at all, was the steamed brown rice. In past experiences there everything seemed cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients. This time, everything appeared to be food purchased pre-prepared, instant packaged food, or bagged frozen food, which was then just deep fried or warmed up in a microwave. I've eaten orange chicken many times and at many other restaurants, including here, and this tasted nothing like anything like I've ever had - it was awful, pungent almost. Plus, the chicken in it was so tough, so full of gristle, and chewy, it was inedible. The pork pad Thai tasted like it had been stir fried using old oil; it was super greasy and we only ate a small portion of it. The potstickers were clearly just re-heated in a microwave, and they were so tough and so hard to chew, we each took one bite and just set them on the plate, and stopped there. The spring rolls just fell apart in the box; and looked more like a box of shredded lettuce & shredded carrots - so there was no dipping them in peanut sauce. Grr... In the end... most of what was a $60 order for two, was thrown away. Sadly, this place used to cook great Thai, but we will never be going back. I hope the owners take note, and return the food to the quality it once was. read more

Been here before no issues with great service. However this visit took 29 minutes to take order and bring waters. Order two appetizers and two entree. Entrees came before appetizers. We asked about appetizers she took entree back and five minutes later brought first hit appetizer and ten minutes later brought shrimp app. Very tasty. However then they delivered entrees back again which chicken and broccoli cold and looked like they were sitting for 30 minutes. I assume these were the original cooked entrees back again. We would had kept the entrees if they were just sitting them in back. Waiter never stopped by to ask how food was. Disappointed. Not to mention the floors need sweeping. read more

We had a Togo order yesterday, and honestly, it was so bad that we won't be going back.We tried Tom Yum at Bell's location earlier this week and enjoyed it. We were in the area of this location and decided to try the same dish again, but it was significantly different.We got the broccoli noodles (Thai hot), combo appetizer, and the massaman curry (medium). The broccoli noodles were the most disappointing dish. We were looking forward to it the most. The broccoli was steamed without any seasoning, and the noodles were broken into small pieces. The dish lacked any spiciness, despite being ordered as Thai hot. The curry was nothing but salty and underwhelming. It was supposed to come with peanuts but there weren't any peanuts in my curry. There was also no spice at all. The combo appetizer was decent. However, I found the sauce to be overly sweet. The only thing I particularly enjoyed was the crab rangoon included. We asked for chili oil but they said it was out. The food might have tasted better with it, because even though we ordered it at a pretty high spice level, it came with no spice at all. We visited this location in person last year and weren't particularly impressed, though it wasn't a bad experience. However, this time it was for takeout, about 20 minutes before closing. There were only two people dining in and three others waiting for takeout when I arrived. Perhaps the order was not taken seriously because it was a takeout order. Given that we spent over $50, we anticipated decent food, but it was disappointing. We felt we wasted our money and should have eaten at the bell location instead. Ordered the vegetable soup. It was an evening I was not feeling too well. I had a taste for a nice tasteful broth. I usually frequent the location in Surprise, AZ. This location was closer on this evening. The service was rushed, low attention to details. I was not offered utensils napkins or condiments. I had to ask for them a couole times. The soup was scolding hot, yet it was wrspoed in a very thin plastic bag. As I walked to my car the soup container popped the lid open, & spilled. I had to walk back & have soup repackaged. This is one of my favorite Asian/Thai restaurants. The food is always co distantly great and the ambiance is terrific. Their red curry dishes are one of my favorites, but so are their beef and broccoli, won ton soup and so many more. I don't think you can go wrong here. Decided to try for lunch. We were warmly greeted when we came in. We decided on the coconut soup with chicken (my favorite!) and per our server's recommendation, Garlic and Black Pepper beef. Both were absolute winners. Shout out to both servers, Donny and Kaylee. We never wanted for anything. One thing, I think they would really benefit from a weekday lunch menu. I was on a date, love Thai food, so I thought to try Tom Yum, always start with the satay, great presentation but could chew told the waitress, just ignored me. Then our dinner came out, Basil spicy Chicken ordered it Medium, came out cold and sweet, my girlfriend ordered the staple Pad Thai with beef, came out with chicken. My girlfriend ordered said don't say anything. Ordered a beer to help get thru dinner, and realized I was charged for 2 beer and only got served one. Now the mgr, came to our table and said we will take 50% off the satay. Not acceptable, she brought the ck paid and ran out of this place. This place does ok because no competition for Thai food in the area. Overcharging an extra beer and discounting something we could eat. Terrible customer service. Take the drive to Pad Thai Cafe.... 20X better and worth the drive. read more

We were extremely pleased with the flavor of the food at this restaurant. It's a little small and when they open the door the cold breeze comes flying in. However, the service is very good and the food comes out quickly so you won't get too cold if you have to sit by the door. Our foursome ordered tempura sweet potato, veggie spring rolls, Tom kha kai with shrimp, spicy basil fried rice with pork, chicken pad Thai, and chicken with broccoli. It's rare that the entrées are significantly better than the appetizers at Asian restaurants but in this case they were. The sweet potato tempura was really greasy, although it was quite crispy. The thin peanut sauce that was served with it was rather lackluster. They only had veggie spring rolls none with any meat and they had a lot of bean sprouts in them which are hard to bite through so they would string out when one took a bite. They were pretty lacking in flavor and were rather pale in color although crispy. The tom kha kai soup was absolutely amazing. It had a rich, darker color compared to versions we've had elsewhere, they used about four really large Kathir lime leaves, and it had nine whole shrimp. Unfortunately, they left the tails on which is so ridiculous when you're eating a soup that you have to stick your hands in there to break off the tails! If you like this type of soup, I highly, highly recommend it. The large size was $16 and easily serve three for a nice size portion or four for a smaller portion. The spicy basil, fried rice was not spicy enough at Thai hot, however, it had really, really good wok hay, and only needed a hint of salt to make it amazing. The chicken pad, Thai was flavorful and tender, and an extremely large portion. The chicken with broccoli was also good and very mild as would be expected. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely return. read more

Haven't had Thai food in quite some time, so I was very excited to try this Arizona staple! I had heard about Tom Yum before, only good things, so we decided on this restaurant for dinner. This review is specific to the food, as we did take-out, and did not dine in. The food was ready within a quick amount of time, and upon picking up, the staff were very welcoming and charming. We went with Pad Thai, Fried Tofu, Drunken Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice. Straight up, all the food was FAN-TAS-TIC!! So fresh, full of flavor, with a uniqueness all its own. We had tried just a little from each dish, in order to get the full experience, and couldn't have been more satisfied. It was so good that even when we were trying to put the leftovers away, we kept going back for more bites. Absolutely delicious, believe the hype, highly recommend! Had the pad thai with duck today. Pretty decent. They didn't add any white onion filler to it, so that's good. The duck was cut with the skin on, which is quite normal but that meant a bunch of it was pieces of skin and fat that I didn't like. Most of the duck was cooked just right and was tender and juicy but a couple pieces were way overcooked. As is normal around here, the sauce was too sweet but not as sweet as others. For $20 this should have been much better. I might go back for something else but defintely not the pad thai read more

This is our favorite place to eat when we visit AZ. We absolutely love that they have clear vegan options and non-vegan options so everyone can enjoy something good when we go. The food is so good and is made with quality. Some Thai places are cheaper but you can also taste that the food is cheap too. Tom Yum Thai is very good and the customer service is great. My favorite dishes (so far) is the Tom Kha, Orange Tofu, and Spicy Green Beans. Looking forward to trying more dishes but it's so hard not to choose our favorites every time we go. Not a good experience tonight. Was unable to call an order in for pickup...constant busy signal. Decided to order upon arrival. Discovered that the phone was not working. Waited several minutes to order and was never greeted by the disgruntled staff. Finally placed my order with a rather rude employee or possibly owner. Came back in 25 minutes to pick up my order. Arrived home and found that they had given me the incorrect order. Met family here as it was a midpoint between our homes. The plaza was quite busy, but parking was no problem at the dinner hour. We ordered spring rolls to start, pad se ew, tofu eggplant, tom kha, and yellow curry. The portions fed a group of six without any issue. The pad se ew and tom kha were certainly the winners for me. Everything was flavored perfectly, and we were able to ask for a refill on the tom kha broth. While we didnt opt for it, i love that they had faux vegan meat options.
