My husband and I were really disappointed with how much V.Nam Pho has changed. We were quoted a 15-minute wait for takeout, which turned into almost an hour. That alone was frustrating, but the food was even more disappointing. The Vietnamese crepe we used to enjoy was completely off. It was thick and doughy like pizza crust instead of the light, crispy texture it used to have (which all Vietnamese crepes have, actually). We ended up throwing most of it away and just eating some of the veggies inside. The spring roll was another letdown. Basically all noodles, hardly any veggies or meat, and only "two shrimp" (really just one shrimp cut in half). I had actually read another review saying the same thing right before writing my update. My husband and I laughed since we were literally about to write the same. Customer service didn't help either. I had to repeat my order three times because the staff member kept stopping to talk to a coworker. It felt really dismissive. Even the Thai tea, while tasty, was only filled about 3/4 of the way. The only decent part of the meal was the vermicelli bowl. I'm not sure if ownership changed, but the flavors, portions, and overall experience were way off from what this place used to be. My fingers are crossed my experience was due to this being a take out order and nothing else. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls. And while the portion was big once I took a good look at what was inside my heart dropped. I completely understand that running a restaurant in today's world one must be cost cautious but this was a little too much for even me to handle. I opened the spring roll hoping my eyes had deceived me but they had not. Each spring roll contained 2 pieces of already relatively small shrimp. To add insult to injury these delicate small pieces of shrimp were then sliced down the middle. As if that wasn't enough the infamous vein on the shrimp that holds shrimp poop that should be removed and washed sat with a small black spot near the tail. And then the chicken provided was not only dry, but was about 1 oz of dry shredded chicken My mouth sat open completely aghast at this spring roll which at this point is 99.9% shredded lettuce and bean sprouts So sadly here is the only positive thing I can say about this place. Service was good. As soon as you enter there is a very off putting smell. Not food related, but like stagnant water or dirty towels. Almost walked out. But it was cold and we were driving through the area. The beef teriyaki was liked by my companion. Small business, family ran. Steady busy on a Sunday afternoon. The smell inside was kind of funky, I'm particular about those kinds of things. The Pho was great, hit the spot however it was not as spicy as we wanted even the chile paste and siracha wasn't spicy which was odd. It was a cold night and I was craving pho. I looked up a few reviews, I didn't see many reviews/photos so I thought I'd try it out. Parking is decent, there are a few popular spots so we parked a few rows back. Not bad, but also not super close and parking spots a little tight fit. The decors and furniture inside is not brand new, the usual wear and tear. 3 tables and about 8 booths. Customer service was good, there's a language barrier but everything asked for has been received in a timely manner. I came here strictly for the pho. One of the best pho places I've been to in AZ! I took the cashier's recommendation on best appetizers and pho. The food was hot (spice and temperature ), fresh, and delicious. The pad Thai is a spicier version with the classic lime and fish sauce plus some chili paste and sliced jalapeño. This curry has me smiling. It starts sweet then warms you as you chew with large chunks of potato and carrot that taste like they've been roasted in butter, and tender chicken pieces. I loved both the pork egg rolls with fish sauce and shrimp spring rolls with a thick peanut sauce. The pho was pleasingly warm and filling too. Hubs had all his combo pho with jalapeño included. This should have him cured in no time. Glad we have found our new pho spot!! The food can be really great or pretty bad... it's clear that there's a competent cook, but ordering anything fried tastes like you've eaten everything else that has been fried that day... so practices can definitely be improved. I had to spit out the first bite of the egg roll order... which particularly stings at the price point. Same story with orange chicken, it's edible, but the burnt taste is there. The fried rice however was prepared well and it was very enjoyable and the food was ready promptly. We decided to try a new pho spot just to see what surprise has to offer. Sadly, we were unimpressed. We decided to start with 2 shrimp spring rolls which were phenomenal! We then ordered a shrimp pho and brisket pho. This is where things took a turn for the worse. For starters the "brisket" was mostly fat and there were more noodles than broth. Some people may love that ratio but the problem here was that the noodles were stuck together and became far too soggy far too fast. They almost became gum-like chewy. It truly was an uncomfortable texture. Though, the broth did have nice flavor and the shrimp pho was well cooked with no signs of poop lines. Plus points for refreshing water! Brave brave new world out here for me in Surprise! Pho real eats, be surprised to find such delicious so close . How does one discover such delightful deliciousness? It's always by chance, right! One day coming home "early" from work the afternoon belonged to me. No one was at home except me, me and the pups, Netflix binge. At the time the "Queens Gambit," was all the rage for me. One needs the proper food. I pulled the truck into this shopping plaza picking up some cupcakes and low and behold "real food." Truly it was the smells that pulled me in. My attraction to Pho foods started with this lovely space. Having frequented this joint many times. It was truly seems authentic to me because English was the third language the staff speaks. Luckily they have colored pictures and I'm not picky. What they put together for me was the daily special? The customer service was great, an awkward experience to order because of the language barrier. We made it all right! The food smells was the reason for coming in? The special was some sort of pad Thai mix with chicken and shrimp mixed over that rice mix. The flavors were tinkling all together ready for me to put a fork in it. The color presentation of the food is another added bonus. The fresh oranges for example were excellent as I enjoyed the flavors of the shrimp with the rice and all its spices. After this dining experience, with just the joys of a smell pad Thai was something that I treated myself to often. While located in Surprise, AZ oh my it's such a busy Mecca of individuals going here and there. To deliver or not to deliver is the question in the area. I lucked out truly. This place was across the street from my house. Usually it was faster to walk the dog and while out grab dinner too. Make sure and call your meal in ahead. They are pretty good about the language barrier over the phone just keep a menu and the number of what your ordering. Keep it simple and safe when ordering. Happy is here your food is ready! Not sure if they've always done this or if it's a recent change, but I was very disappointed to find out that their "Vietnamese Iced Coffee" is not vietnamese style at all. They are just mixing coffee with CoffeeMate creamer (not sure if they're using the "natural bliss" product line that is actual milk and cream or if they're just using the standard CoffeeMate product that it basically garbage made out of corn syrup solids), but either way this is deceiving and misleading. The waiter said they wanted to make it more American. Um... what???? Why would I go to a Vietnamese place and order VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE if I wanted American coffee. I still ate the food there that day and though it tasted good, I probably should have asked about the ingredients, as I now know this place (like many restaurants these days) can't be trusted. We stopped at Safeway on the way home and got some condensed milk and looked up how to make Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Made them at home - super easy and way better than the CoffeeMate garbage they're trying to sell here under false pretenses. Please update your menu so that it is honest! read more

The food here is absolutely excellent. The service is equally excellent. I eat here/order from Uber eats like six times a month and it is so darn tasty. If you want to try some good hearty family style Vietnamese food, this is the place all of the udon noodle dishes are amazing, the sampler platter, the lotus stem salad, and the chicken curry is so good the portions are pretty darn large too! Support your local Vietnamese restaurant; V.Nam Pho is the place to go or have delivered. Kim is easy to chat with on the phone too! Honestly, their beef banh mi is the perfect sandwich. The meat is cooked fresh to perfection. The toasty white baguette is hot and soft yet crunchy on the outside. It's loaded with the ideal amount of unique veggies you don't get on your traditional sammy. We're from out-of-town and dropped in to V.Nam after seeing reviews and the vegetarian options. The ambience is spare and quiet. The staff is always ready to help without being intrusive. The spring roles were yummy. We got the seafood noodles with vegetarian broth and the rare steak plus brisket noodles with beef broth. Probably the closest pho I've had to home cooked in AZ! I ordered the combination pho with extra tendon. The broth is soo flavorful and meaty. The serving is very generous! I came twice in one week. The second time I ordered the beef lemongrass and let me tell you it reminded me of my dads cooking. It exploded with flavors, I was surprised as most pho places usually specialize in pho so other dishes are usually mediocre. Also I have to say the customer service is 10/10!
