Thank you yelpers for helping me find this little gem! My family and I love Vietnamese food and we've gone to plenty mom/pop restaurants in NJ, NYC and PA. When I saw the other raving reviews, I knew I had to dine here. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly owner. I noticed the outdoor seating wrap around the porch of the restaurant (that looks like a house). Indoors had a few tables and we were lucky that a table of four were empty because it's 2pm and I guess many folks have had lunch already or had ordered to go. The menus were pretty impressive to such a small place. In many of their noodles and rice dishes, you get to choose your choice of meat or go vegan. I also noticed for all the pho lovers, you get to build your own pho! For starters, we had pork spring rolls and I was shocked that you can order it in different meat or vegan as well. Most other Vietnamese restaurants just have pork and that's it. We also ordered the beef pao (bun) and it's tastes so good. I totally recommend it! For my main course, I decided to order grilled pork banh mi since that's the usual banh mi I always order at a Vietnamese cafe. The sandwich was large enough for two (my daughter and I) to share and it was yummy! My husband had the beef rice dish and our son had the grilled pork with vermicelli bowl and either they were really hungry or they really enjoyed it because both were stuffing their faces. With recommendation from the owner, we had ordered the açaí bowl with fruits and granola and Nutella drizzles and the dessert was large enough for us to share. It was delicious and healthy! The owner was very friendly and even gave us for macaroons on the house. Overall, we enjoy our meals. I read from other yelp reviewers that the dishes and banh mi here is pricier than your ordinary Vietnamese restaurants and takeouts and yes, I agree it is but at least the food and service was good. Parking is metered off street. Per the owner, during summer weather, they open the backyard and they can accommodate more guests. Because of the colder weather, most customers order their food to go because of the limited seatings here. They do not take reservations so make sure either you come off hours of lunch/dinner or place your orders to go. read more

So glad that this place is open for delivery through UberEats! I love their beef pho and it's always my go-to. They package everything so nicely, broth is separate so the noddles aren't soggy, bean sprouts and basil come bagged separately as well. Little Vietnamese cafe tucked away in Millburn. Since finding this place, I've ordered take out three times. It's a great Vietnamese spot and probably the only one around. The Banh Mi is great and so is the grilled pork with rice. If you want a good appetizer, the grilled meat Lao is very good. Perfectly flavored and good portions. My love for Vietnamese food made me bookmark this spot on yelp. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm just after lunch time. The place is very small for indoor dining. It looks like it can only accommodate about 20-25 people in the main area. In the summer time or when the weather is better they can seat more patrons outside. During the colder weather I hear most people order and take out their order home. The servers here are friendly and even spoke with the owner of this place. We ordered the pork Banh Mi, pork vermicelli noddles, and I had grilled pork rice dish. For the appetizer, we ordered the beef pao (buns) and spring rolls. My wife said the banh mi was very delicious, the rice dish I ordered was also good as well. My son enjoyed the rice vermicelli noodles with grilled pork too. Overall, the food was very good and tasty with no complaints. The owner came and asked us if we wanted dessert, From his recommendation we ordered the Acai bowl which is a smoothie blend with banana, strawberries, granola, blueberries, drizzled with coconut flakes and topped with nutella. Our family shared the bowl and it was delicious as well. Overall, I found cafe food, presentation, and service very good. However, there are few improvements that can be better but not anything on the restaurant side. First, the location has no parking for patrons of the restaurant, you will have to find off street parking to come here. Second, the location seem to be converted from a house to a restaurant so that's why the seating are very limited. Third, I think is the most important one to me, the food pricing. Most items here are priced 2-5 dollars more than the typical Vietnamese restaurant, so it can be expensive. Although the food quality is slightly better, I found other Vietnamese restaurant that has similar quality a little cheaper. I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants so I am comparing to all them. This is a place I wouldn't go here often or buy take out due to the price, but I could understand that Milburn is an expensive town. This is my new favorite spot for delicious and authentic Vietnamese food! The restaurant isn't exactly new to the neighborhood but it's tucked away in downtown Millburn so it can be easy to miss. I've ordered from here previously and the food was always good but it's so much better if you opt to dine in! Judging from the menu, Saigon Cafe really doesn't look like much. Apart from the standard Vietnamese dishes offered, you can also grab an açaí bowl, bubble tea, flan, and even macarons. The addition of the seemingly random desserts definitely made me raise an eyebrow but I'm not mad about it. You'll notice upon entering the establishment that it's spotless inside. The interior of the restaurant is bright and inviting, just like the waiters that will greet you! We were helped by an older gentlemen, possibly the owner and his wife. Our waiter was so beyond helpful and kind! My glass of water was full throughout my entire meal! I ordered the grilled pork with fine vermicelli noodles. My waiter gave me an extra plate and instructed me to construct my lettuce and noodle wraps on it. It was such a fun way to eat the dish! I loved that he went out of his way to show us how the dishes should be enjoyed. Even if the service here was terrible, which it's far from, I would still return in a heartbeat. The food is AMAZING! It's as authentic as it gets in this part of Jersey and is arguably even better than the Vietnamese restaurant that I frequent in Chinatown Manhattan. Upon returning from my trip to Vietnam this year, I was sad because I knew that I wouldn't be able to enjoy Vietnamese food stateside the way I used to because the food in Hanoi is THAT good but this restaurant will definitely hold me over until my next trip to Vietnam! read more

The pork was flavorful, spring rolls crispy, and the vermicelli had a nice chew to it. The wonton soup base was not like any wonton soup I've had at the chinese restaurants (distinct oniony flavor) - and the wontons were delicious. They seem to have a really busy takeout business - there were just as many employees working as there were patrons, and there were people constantly in and out picking up. I absolutely love Saigon Cafe. Walking into the restaurant, you're welcomed with the best aroma. The restaurant is clean and the staff is so friendly. They make delicious the most delicious pho. I absolutely love Bahn mi. I realize that not all vietnamese restaurants serve Bahn Mi, but Saigon cafe does!!! The owner is very friendly and makes sure everything is ok with your order. I have been here twice and both times I tried chicken pho and chicken bahn mi. Portions are big so its better to not order both things together. Everything is delicious. Best pho compare to Linden and Union. The broth is amazing. U can taste the difference in their broth compare to the other pho places. The noodles are not too thick. Whenever my husband are feeling under the weather, i always stop by to pick him up the beef pho. After he eats it, he feels better. Came here to get take out for lunch and was very happy that I decided to do that! I ordered a classic banh mi (ham) and got an iced Vietnamese coffee. The banh mi was nice and soft, not too hard which is what I usually hate. They slice it in half for you which is nice Incase if you can't finish the whole sandwich. The Vietnamese coffee is nice and strong! If that's what you like, then you'll love this one. I'd like to also say that the staff here is extremely friendly. Everyone walked by and smiled at me. One big thing I noticed is that they filled my coffee to the top (so happy that they're not cheating me for my money since some places purposely put too much ice or don't fill up the cup). It was overflowing a little bit out of the hole of the lid and the guy went out of his way wipe off the excess so that it doesn't spill everywhere without me even asking. This is truly a hidden gem in a town with MANY restaurants. The portions are large, the prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent. From the summer rolls to the Pho, everything we've had from here has been a home run.
