I called Saigon Bistro and Brian was already in the phone trying to resolve the issue. Door Dash's solution was to refund a part of my order while Brian asked where I lived. I've dined in a few times but I'm dedicating this review to catering. I've catered from this restaurant two times and it was delicious both times! The first order: -Crispy egg rolls (cha gio), they were so good! I love the dipping sauce and all the herbs that come with the order. -Crab fried rice is filled with crab meat and full of flavor! So so good. The second order: -Garlic egg noodles with salted steam chicken. Buttery and garlicky. -Shaking beef is full of flavor and when dipped in the salt pepper lemon sauce it enhances the dish even more. The kids love this dish! -Crispy Chilean sea bass is oh my god! The best I ever had. The fish is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The house sauce is so flavorful and addicting. I'm impressed by how well this dish traveled because the party was 50 minutes away from the restaurant. -Woven vermicelli wraps with beef & pork wrapped in betel leaves. This is my ultimate favorite and a must try! I've tried this dish in California and Texas but Saigon Bistro in Virginia made it the best. There are so many flavor profiles for this dish that it's hard for me to explain. A burst of flavor very bite. I introduced the above dishes to my most picky friends and they all loved it! Ordered the following: Pho ga (chicken pho): barely any meat I would say there was like 4 pieces of meat and like the rest (3 pieces more) was just chicken skin. Was very disappointed in the lack of protein. Yes, as others mentioned the broth has more of a sweeter profile. Pho short rib: just hype. Same as above, broth was sweet, amount of protein was lacking. Combination fried rice: the rice was undercooked so the rice was hard. Did we eat it? Yes because we were still hungry since the pho barely had any meat. Would we go back? Possibly to try other items on the menu. Was surprised to see canh chua, ca kho, and bo ne, but to be honest we made a long trip to try it out and it was just okay. Came here the other day to try their "well-known" pho and egg rolls! I got the chicken pho which was amazingly delicious, hot(even after 20 minutes), less sweet than other places(I prefer this way more) , and the broth was smooth. Wish there could be more veggies, toppings, and protein, but they do give you a large amount of broth even for take out! I was surprised they only had pork egg rolls but that's fine. They were crispy and easy to eat since they were already cut in half. The service was super delightful as the servers and runners were always on their feet! For takeout, we only waited about 10 min! what a record! Overall the place deserves more recognition, a solid 4/5! read more

The beef pho was decent, if a little sweet. I was disappointed that the restaurant only uses dark meat chicken in their Pho Ga (not all of us like it). The beer selection was pretty limited when I went here. I feel like a lot of the high ratings are due to the previous restaurant that was here. But I do have one suggestion, please, please take you fly zapper with all the dead flies AWAY from the window. It has a blue glow that caught my eye as to what is that as I walk towards the restaurant? I hope it's not what I think it is. Yes an electronic fly zapper right in the window in plain sight. Why? Having arrived in Northern Virginia in early evening after flying all day. My wife chose this small bistro in Sterling VA. The service was excellent and staff answered all our questions about the menu and food choices. We were definitely impressed with their kindness and attention to detail. I was scrolling FB and this restaurant was recommended. Decided to try it with two friends and we were all very pleased that we did! Cute little restaurant tucked in a strip mall. The food and service were excellent! I had the Saigon Vermicelli Bowl and my friends had the Vermicelli Lemongrass Bowl and the Shrimp Lotus Salad. Everything was delicious and the portions were so generous, we had to ask for containers for the leftovers. I want to pay an additional compliment to our server who was perfectly attentive throughout our meal and very knowledgeable about the menu. The broth was very flavorful (a bit of step up from before, which was already very good imo) and the beef was tender. I don't know if it today was a fluke day for this restaurant, but it took a long time for the food to arrive and when it did, it was't very impressive. We got the beef stew and flat noodles with shrimp. The beef in the stew should've been soft from braising and instead was incredibly tough. The shrimp in the noodles was overcooked and tough.
