Saigon Beach Ground Pork Crispy Egg Roll
    Tim W.

I was greeted early when I came in. I then asked if they had Banh Xeo there but she didn't know what that was which was weird. But oh well. I got the 3 fried egg rolls and the combo Banh Mi. The fried egg rolls were amazing! I recommend everyone get that. The Banh Mi was not tasty nor authentic at all. Was that mayo in there?? I was still so hungry after I went to another place and ordered an entree. I regret tipping 18% on my Togo ordered. Do note they do take a while to make your food. They had a lot of corny Pho sayings on the wall. Read some and just stopped after 2. One read "may the pho be with you.." like wtf. Doesn't even rhyme with Force. At least make it plural to kinda sound similar.

My friends and were craving pho near the beach and stumbled upon this place. It was definitely warm that day and there were not a lot of people inside. Service was fast though with the food. I ordered the eggrolls as an appetizer and then had their pho. The eggrolls were crunchy but would have liked a bit more flavor and portion for the price. As for the pho, there were good portions of meat, but the broth did not taste as flavorful and was bland.

This place is seriously a letdown not even close to the taste of Vietnamese food.. you're better off spending the money on gas going to Westminster to get good authentic Vietnamese food. Seriously overpriced!!! Not going there again Super salty Pho

I LOVE their shrimp spring rolls. It's $11.50 and little bit pricey in compare to other places but it's worth it. Shrimp spring rolls with Avocado yum yum yum!!!! Great combination! Fresh and tasty! The service always great here! The workers always welcoming. The ambiance is cute! Lots of writings and pictures all over the wall and make you busy while you are waiting...Try it and you'll love it! Wherever we go for eating pho this place is our stop for shrimp roll. It's hard to order from somewhere else when you try this location. Saigon Beach you are forever on my heart.

Pork Belly & Grilled Pork Bun Sliders, 420 Downtowner Special, and Nam Nam Wings

Overall: 3.6/5 (dine in) This is a small storefront that's street facing so it might be hard to find parking right in front. I was surprised when I got there because I thought it was a sit down restaurant but the set up is really for take out/delivery. They have bars & stools along the side of the walls but at max, the restaurant can only seat 8-10 people. Customer service is good here though. Pork Belly Bun Slider ($5.95): Better than the grilled pork slider but was just okay. Grilled Pork Bun Slider ($5.75): The grilled pork was very dry. For both sliders, they gave a lot of carrots which I liked but they were lacking all the Vietnamese flavors. The buns were soft though. 420 Downtowner Special ($10.25): We were both so disappointed when we tried this. The presentation was nice but the taste was mid. The green colored rice and the shredded chicken were bland. The pork on top was a bit less dry than the one in the bun and was the only thing with flavor. Nam Nam Wings (5 Wings For $7.95): The wings were the best item of the night. They were crispy and tasty.

The pork bahnmi :: forgive spelling:: was actually pretty great. I loved the smoky aroma within the pork and it had a lot of flavor. It was my favorite. I had quite a bit of bahnmi and they weren't as impressively as flavored as this one. I really liked how casual the atmosphere was, I got a kick out of the wall decoration with a play on words. The server was very flattered by my compliment. She did exactly what was needed. I was there around noon, 4/17/25 so i hope the manager knows who she is and did a good job. Again that was the best sandwich.

I enjoy a good Vietnamese restaurant but when I stopped in I didn't get any food. It was a warm Spring day so I opted for one of their limeades. They have them in the bubbler so I chose the mango passionfruit one. It was delightful albeit a tad sweet. It's a good thing they pack with full with ice so it can mellow out. I took my drink and walked along the boardwalk taking in the ocean views and the cool breeze. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on supporting a neighborhood Asian restaurant. Cheers!

Yum! Thst grilled pork vermicelli was excellent. Grilled just right with thst jusicy, tender pork on the vermicelli made just right . Not too soft or mushy. Nice and firm noodles. The vegetables in it were fresh and crispy too. Highly recommended!

Great Vietnamese food in Newport! It's a nice little spot in the popular area of Newport Beach. There isn't much seating but it's the perfect grab n go. The service was good and quick. The food was even better. Grilled Turmeric Chicken Vermicelli Noodle was a 10/10! The chicken was seasoned and perfectly cooked. The noodles were great. It was filling and the sauce was perfect. The shrimp spring rolls 10/10. They taste like authentic spring rolls. The peanut sauce was untraditional, but still good peanut sauce.

Cool inside! We were cracking up at the puns

A pho baguette? It's like Bahn Mi and Pho had a baby and it was the best of both! It was so so so good! Think French dip with pho flavors dipped in pho broth! The pork and vermicelli was so fresh and so delicious! The buns were incredible! This will always be on our list when we come visit! Can't wait to try more food options! Everything was so so good!

The only reason this place is getting 2 STARS is because the service sucks and they greedy with chili oil!! We order our food and tell me why did the guest after us received their food before us. Also, when we requested for chili oil it went from grands to mini tall size (Starbucks). The staff weren't not attentive and were very slow!! The food wasn't too bad. I give the pho (3/5) the eggs roll (3/5). The decor was very artistic with hand written tags on the wall and a few pictures on the wall. The small is very small. I would have thought this place would have better service since it's in NEWPORT BEACH!! Definitely not OC MATERIAL!!

You also get a generous portion of tofu. We also ordered the mango sticky rice matcha, which was so good with mango cream and sesame seeds on top. For dessert, we got the sweet custard sticky rice, which came with a delicious pandan coconut sauce to dunk the rice in. Service: Our waiter was so nice, giving us recommendations when we'd give her two options and ask her which one we should choose. She also came to check on us often, and there was another waiter who came often to refill our water. Ambiance: The ambiance was so nice with a tree with fairy lights inside. The bathroom was also clean and spacious and had a complementary mouth wash station at the hand wash area. Overall, great lunch or dinner spot! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The items are slightly expensive, so I highly recommend you order a few dishes to share! Also, if you're a coconut fan, Nep's coconut matcha is also delicious with coconut meat in it!

Can't go wrong with ordering any of the Crispy Pork Belly dishes. We actually ordered two of the Crispy Pork Belly Wrap appetizers when we went today for dinner. The seafood tom kha pasta was delicious as well. One tiny let down that left a sour taste in our mouths unfortunately happened today. We made a reservation for a party of 6 to celebrate my mom's 69th birthday. Like the previous two times I was here, they placed a nice little card/sign saying Happy Birthday with my mom's name on it. However after we enjoyed our meal we expected the nice little ice cream dessert with a candle on top for my mom to make a wish and blow out, but it never came. We never had to ask for it the last few times we went, they brought it out once they saw we finished our food, but this time it never came. We asked our server Young about it after paying, he said he'll bring it out. But after waiting some more it still never arrived so we just got up and left. I know it's something small, but sometimes it's the little things that count. We've seen it for others when we went, but when it came to my mom and then her not getting it, it was just disappointing.

From the moment it hit the table, I could smell how rich and flavorful the broth was. You can tell it wasn't rushed--it tasted like it had been simmering for hours. Every spoonful was comforting, packed with depth, and had the perfect balance of savory flavors. The beef was unbelievably tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the noodles had the perfect bite. This is the kind of meal that reminds you why pho is one of the best comfort foods out there. What really impressed me was the freshness of everything. The herbs were vibrant, the bean sprouts had a great crunch, the jalapeños added the perfect kick, and a squeeze of lime brought the entire bowl together. Every ingredient complemented the broth instead of overpowering it. I found myself slowing down just to enjoy every bite because it was that good. By the time I finished, I was honestly wishing there was another bowl waiting for me. The service and atmosphere made the experience even better.
