Much smaller and less decorative. The place was empty when we walked in. The menu seemed cut down significantly as well. We ordered 2 banh mi sandwiches, grilled ribeye & roasted pork. They were pretty good, the bread was soft, plenty of meat, juicy and flavorful. Roasted pork was better in my opinion! Also ordered the lemongrass deluxe stir fry, which had chicken and beef as well many veggies. Portion size was alright, not too large not too small. Could've had a bit more rice though. We also tried the durian boba. Flavor was meh... Boba itself was not great, not chewy at all... very bad quality... would not get their bobas. Once again, Saigon Bay is a wonderful place to have a delicious meal. Today I tried the fried quail appetizer and the chicken with rice. Both were delicious. However, if you've never tried quail, keep in mind that there isn't much meat on the bone! There were definitely hints of various spices on the quail, including a little bit of lime, in addition, the chicken with rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken was soft, succulent, juicy and flavorful. The staff is always nice and I have to say you really can't beat this place for a quick meal on a Saturday afternoon. read more

The prices aren't super expensive and the food was ready quickly after ordering. The ribeye banh mi was delightful - filled pretty full and the baguette was great. The Spicy Beef and Pork Soup (Bun Bon Hue) was definitely SPICY so be careful with that one if you aren't used to spicy. Overall good food and will be back! read more

I ordered the Bun Bo Hue for take-out and the food was tasty but the reason why I'm giving the food only 3 stars and my overall rating 4 stars is because when I opened the food container, the receipt for my order was sitting on top of my food. That's a huge no-no. Receipt paper and its ink are carcinogenic. There is no conscionable reason why a receipt should have been inside that food container. Also, I felt that the portion size could have been larger. I felt like they gave me very little meat. Saigon Deli on Waters Ave gives you large portion sizes and the prices are good. You get more for your money. This place could learn a thing or two from Saigon Deli. read more

I was glad to hear that Saigon Bay had reopened in Temple Terrace after losing their old location to fire 2 years ago. Their food was always good the the people were friendly. Their new place is now a couple of lights away on 56th street, but still not far from USF. When you enter, you'll notice it's about half the size of their old location. Tables are a bit more squeezed tightly but not too bad. Went there during lunch so it was pretty busy, but they came out with the food quickly. Food is still good and the server was attentive so service is still good. Definitely will add this place in my lunch rotation if in the Temple Terrace area. read more

First time eating here and I will be back. My daughter and I stopped in for some post pottery painting eats the other day and enjoyed ourselves. She oohed and ahhed the second we walked in the door when she saw the little shrine and fountain that I have included in my pics. The dining room appeared impecably clean which impressed me. The only downside to my experience was when ordering. I felt incredibly rushed to the point I didn't get a chance to really look over the menu and ended up picking an old goto of Shrimp bun. It was very tasty. As were the crab rangoon app and daughter loved her chicken terriyaki. The crab rangoon and the lunch special terriyaki were both a great value, plenty enought for 2 meals. My food was also a good value w about 10 decent sized shrimp and lots of fresh basil. Since my old favorite Vietnamese spot in the corridor moved to a less convenient location I will definitely be back. read more

I might be a little biased writing this review--the owners used to have a restaurant in KC where my mom worked at for about 10 years before they relocated & open this spot in Tampa. The restaurant they sold is still thriving & one of the best. So when I moved down to Florida, I absolutely had to find them. Food is still as good as ever! Service was wonderful. The amount of noodles and beef vs broth was very small in the BIG beautiful bowl. The taste was not as rich but watered down. I was getting up after eating and the old lady acted as if I was about to walk out without paying. She asked me are you leaving and starting talking to staff upfront. I hadn't even gotten out of my chair as normal in the old restaurant...the ticket is at the counter and you go pay. I felt slighted. To say the least I will not be returning. I got the chicken pho and it was a hearty bowl for an amazing price of around $9!! It came with all the sauces and veggies to add as we liked. Of course I loved that that gave a bushel of cilantro. Nice little place and fairly busy for a Saturday lunch. I know it's Vietnamese but I decided to try the garlic noodle shrimp which is more of a Chinese dish. I added pork to it and I'm gonna tell you it was really good with lots of garlic and definitely tasteful. My only thing was it's a little oily so next time I'll ask them to back off that and use less. The waiter was really nice and service was good. What a delicious lunch! We were so excited for this to be opening up in Temple Terrace, and boy did not disappoint. Ju was our server and was sweet as can be! Fast service, super high quality ingredients, and the broth in the pho was absolutely delightful. You can tell they cook the bones for hours with how flavorful it was!
