Sad to say tonight will be my last visit here. As I have pointed out before, they have gotten stingier and stingier with the amount of protein that they put on the bowl, but now it has gone over the top. I came in tonight and placed my usual order. There was *no signage* on the glass case whatsoever mentioning a price increase. I only saw the price increase once around to the other side of the case at the register, at which point of course it is too late because you have already had your food made. I had noticed, while they were making my bowl (before I realized they were going to charge an arm and a leg for it), that this was probably the least protein I have gotten so far. I internally rolled my eyes because, as I said, they've been reducing the protein for some time. There *might* be 15 tiny little cubes of tuna and what is supposedly a double protein bowl. Imagine my surprise when I was informed, again only after ordering, that they had increased their prices over 25%. Sorry, no. You've finally gone too far. read more

Another great experience. I had spicy tuna salad. Partner had salmon rice bowl with ponzu sauce. All the veggies were fresh, sauces flavorful, server was accommodating questions. The whole place is clean and pleasant. And they have Dim Sum starting next week, excited for that. read more

Still love this place especially the summer rolls. They have shrimp and pork but you can also order shrimp, pork, or tofu. This time I also had a taste for a Poke Burrito. It was really tasty, the Aloha with tuna and seaweed salad and pineapple. Both were really tasty. Decided to order online ahead of time too for the first time. It was easy to order online and pick it up. Definitely convenient. I have eaten here before, & it's spacious and clean. Everyone working is also very nice, helpful, & welcoming read more

I was a bit hungry after a long day of work and stumbled upon this place. They have so many amazing poke bowl options, rice and boba. I decided to get some crispy spring rolls and some regular ones and they were both bomb! I would like to come back and try some of the bowls because the seafood looked fresh and so did the veggies ! The guy who took my order was super friendly and welcoming as soon as I came in the door! I will definitely be back to try more food! read more

I had a craving for some Tofu so when I typed that in search this is the first place to come up and it looked very good. So I clicked it of course, everything started looking and sounding JUST as good. Turned to my mom and said "we're getting this for lunch!" I got the Beach Bum and we got the Tofu Bao. The bowl was so light and fresh tasting I love how they cut up the tempura shrimp rather than other places that leave the whole thing in. Also love how they cut up wontons add to the crisp BUT one senses toon... leave out the cilantro, just tastes weird in the mix. As for the Tofu Bao omg that Puffy almost DOUGH like bread, so soft like play dough haha All was very good! My Dad went in to pick it up so I can't speak about ambiance. read more

I thought it was overpriced. There was very little meat ( I don't even like a lot of meat) in my bowl. My friend's mediocre beach bum bowl was $25 ! Overall not a well priced meal for semi fast food. Our meal came to over 54.00 and we could have sat down at the pizza restaurant for almost 2 large pies! read more

I have been wanting to try the place forever and I finely did. It's in a strip mall and very clean but plain. The servers were nice and quick. I knew they had the bowls but didn't know they had Pho which my husband absolutely loves. I did get the salad bowl with spicy tuna and crab. I had 3 sauce's added and a few more veggies and it was sooooo yummy! The serving size was great and everything was fresh! My husband had the beef and meatball pho and said it was great as well. He also had the Vietnamese eggrolls which were very tasty! We will definitely go back soon. I liked that I could see what I could choose to put in my bowl. So much easier that way! read more

The poke itself was very delicious. I love that they have cream cheese, which I tried once in a poke place and fell in love with it with my poke. The reason why it wasn't a five star review is because the prices are a little crazy to me. 3 slices of avocado is an extra $1 or so. I also wasn't a fan that sauces are .50 extra so the poke comes out to be dry unless you pay a few dollars extra for decent sauce. I did like that the masago didn't count as a protein but still the prices rack up if you add sauce and the avocado wasn't worth the extra money. read more

Poke Island new location has been here at least two years already. I have good experience in their old location. However, when they move to this location, their price has raise up a lot. I was here after a long drive from assignment from far away. We decided to have to go order. I got the build your own poke. One thing I like is their many choices of protein. This is a plus. Second is quantities is good enough. We have three proteins build your own. I also got coffee smoothie. Both items are good. Value to taste is middle average range. read more

I was in the neighborhood and gave this place a shot due to the good reviews. It did not disappoint. I got the spicy salmon and spicy tuna bowl. All ingredients were fresh my only complaint would've been that the spicy tuna was minced, however it was still tasty. They also have Vietnamese options and boba tea but I didn't try them maybe next time. Ambiance was inviting and seemed very clean. Customer service was great. read more

I came in at lunchtime on a rainy day. I thought I was getting poké, but saw that they served pho. I figured that rainy day + good pho = happy tummy. No twist to the story. I had a happy tummy. I ordered sliced beef for protein, and taste and texture was great. The broth was excellent, there was a lot of noodles. I also Ordered thai tea boba, and there was a lot of boba. Service was very friendly and quick, and I had my food in less than 5 minutes, there were about another 6 tables filled when I was there. They have quite a number of tables inside, all good sized. This spot is recommended for people who are rushing through lunch since they have great food, quick service, and a lot of space. read more

Pros: Fresh ingredients from the fish to the veggies. Very good customer service. The 2 workers were helpful and checked on me during the meal. They were even cleaning the tables during busy times. Cons: There is not enough rice in the bowl and they don't mix the sauce with the rice by fork like U Poke Spot. My bowl had large clumps of rice without sauce and taste. The Spicy Tuna was too finely cut and "mushy". Other places have the fish as distinct pieces. It reminded of the Spicy Tuna roll at the nearby Sushi Cafe. No bueno. Only 1 sauce is allowed per bowl. A 3 protein custom rice bowl is $16. Compared that to U poke at $13.50, it seems a bit much. This is New Tampa - a more affluent area so I understand prices will be a bit higher. However, Fresh Kitchen is only a few feet from Poke Island and I can get a large amount of food for $10-14 and feel satisfied. I was still hungry after eating at Poke Island. Misc: There is only 1 bathroom and it is unisex. They sell soda by individual cans for $1.25. I would have preferred fountain style drinks. They have boba. Overall: A solid poke place for New Tampa peeps, but not my favorite read more

So allow me to introduce you to this amazing spot Poke Island Plus.. This poke spot has certainly changed the game. Where do I begin well the service is impeccable, friendly very helpful with the menu and smiles all around. Winning already! I cant prolong this let's jump into this food. Lord have mercy on my soul because i was definitely doing a praise dance inside my body after tasting the first bite. The goodness that reached my insides with the Crabmeat, Tempura Shrimp,Fried Chicken, edamame, red cabbage, pineapples, carrots, corn, scallions, crispy wontons, yummy & eel sauce omg yess y'all the sauces . I'm drooling typing this as I think back to the moment I was about to taste my first bite how my mouth started watering of anticipation. Their menu is incredible you honestly don't think that this place would have so many many things but they do. The fried rice, come on like seriously I don't know what they doing but I pray to the Gods they don't stop! Plus the give a nice portion of it. The Baos Buns, The bun noodle bowls y'all just walk in the door and allow them to lead the way! You will not ever be disappointed as I sure wasn't. Anya was a whole vibe for me this girl gave me 5 star service and then she knew this menu and just about told me what every thing i asked about taste like. It was like she was transferring the flavors in my mouth without me even tasting it yet. Then came the Owner/Manager Lina, I wanted to steal her away as she was such a doll and super nice I kept giving her hugs she certainly made me feel like a friend instead of a customer. Absolutely percent without a single doubt in my mind I'm definitely going to be their VIP customer because I'm hooked, my anchor had made a home!!!! Thanks Poke Island Plus you've seriously started this year off right for me. See ya soon read more

My teen is Poké and sushi obsessed so in a day of errands we stopped here for lunch. We both ordered a bowl. I got tuna and he got salmon. I had the salad base with veggies and a spicy sauce and he had the rice base with veggies and eel sauce. He got a Boba tea with mango popping bubbles and I had a sparkling water. The bowls were absolutely delicious, and they were fresh tasting and generous with all of the toppings. He absolutely loved his Boba tea and it came in a really cute cup. It's really cute inside and there's plenty of tables to sit and there were also quite a few people grabbing to go as well! We definitely be grabbing lunch here again soon!! read more

Great food. Very fast service. Great location. Clean environment. Little pricey but worth it to spend time.

First time trying this place, thought the price okay so gave it shot. Nice location and area. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place. I went inside in person to check it out and I got the 1 topping poke bowl and lol. THEY COUNT THEIR SHRIMPS. Very stingy. So yeah here's my four shrimps for $13. I do like that they offer unlimited toppings but there are other poke place way better. read more

Super fresh seafood and very friendly staff! I love getting a salad bowl with all the veggies to choose from and the original spice sauce. Their salmon is always clean and the portion of 1 scoop is generous. Sometimes I get two scoops if super hungry. I also recommend their fresh summer rolls and typically customize mine to remove the pork and add jalapeño which they do for a very small charge. I love their coconut and taro milk teas, which you can also customize in sweetness. Definitely a favorite spot in new Tampa! read more

STOP, you don't need this review just go there and eat good food. This little poke/ pho/ sushi and boba place is 5 star. The small location doesn't leave much space for a ton of patrons to sit and eat, it's defiantly designed as a take out spot but the food and service where among some of the best take out spots. They have a large assortment of fish and topping for a poke bowl and as you skim their menu, you'll also find sushi, rice bowls, noodle bowls and PHO! I've eaten a lot of Pho in my life and I'd say they make a spot on good bowl (I wouldn't say it's #1 pho but for a take out place it was great) We also had some sushi and a couple of boba drinks. Needless to say we will for sure be back to try more of the menu and I'll try to remember photos before I chow down but this place makes it difficult. Over all 5 stars See you there! read more

We were iffy about this place for a long time but craved some pho and poke so decided to give it a shot for convenience of getting both dishes at the same time. The prices are high when compared to other pho and poke places, but the amount of food you get is very little, comparably as well. The taste was also not as good - the pho broth tasted like they made it with vegetables or very little beef bones, and the poke was lacking in toppings. Other places include seaweed salad and masago, this places charges you $2+ for it as just a topping. Unless they make some serious improvements, will not return as we feel many places offer better quality/quantity of food for the price. read more

Good Pho, even though it's small portion, and it is pricey, I'll be back for that Beef Pho

At this store, everyone is very friendly. The food is fantastic, very clean and freshly prepared. The vermicelli rice noodle with pork, brisket pho, and light sweetened passion fruit tea are all excellent choices. The cooked rolls are also delicious, but if you've already ordered noodles, they may be too filling. I've also had their poke bowl delivered by Uber. Very well-packaged. There is nothing to complain about, the servers are usually cheerful and upbeat. It's always a pleasant experience. read more

I love trying out new poke places, especially ones in our area. I have been anticipating this restaurant opening. It is more than a typical poke place. They also offer small plates, fried rice, sushi, boba tea, etc. I ordered a bowl with 2 proteins. I am so glad they had tempura shrimp, it was delicious! I also had spicy tuna, which was very good. I am very disappointed with this venue after today's experience. Multiple issues happened today. I've already spoken to the manager and they heard what they heard and I said what I said so we are going to have to leave it at that. But I called in to order beef pho, plain with just noodles and beef slices. Apparently the associate heard 'beef balls'?! And put them in as meat ball pho orders. I picked them up, can home and NO BEEF. I called and said I was charged for two beef phos and the manager (Lina) apologized for the inconveniences and said she'd have beef ready and offered to throw in summer rolls. The whole time nobody says the order is beef MEATBALLS or not. I assumed that it was beef slices we always get. I sent in my daughter to pick them up. She comes back, open the containers - there are meatball instead of beef slices. So I called back and spoke to Lina again, and she says both she and the associates thought I said 'BEEF BALLS' over the phone instead of "BEEF PHO' so she was adamant becUse that's what they heard over the phone and what it sounded like they stand by them. She kind of made it sound like my pronunciation was WRONG and causing the confusion. This. Really. Offended me. So many levels. It took a lot of restraint to advise her that her associates should learn to repeat back the order or at least clarify 'meat balls or beef sluces' instead of 1) accusing me of mispronouncing it and thereby gaslighting me on the whole confused situation 2) and blaming ME for not saying beef SLICES instead of balls. So she did not offer any more apologies or any mediation. I've ordered there 4-5 times in the past and always get the same thing and did not happen. This was the first time they truly royally messed up, but the damage was so great and offensive on so many levels, I will never ever o back or recommend this place. So advice to you yelpers, make sure you say beef SLICES AND DONT SAY BEEF PHO' because then their mistakes are owneoys on YOU according to this restaurant. read more

Thrilled with their food. I ordered a spicy tuna burrito with avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, spicy mayo and soy sauce. My partner ordered a spicy tun bowl, I had a taste and it was amazing. You want to know how you know you have a GREAT Yelp review...when the food is so good, you didn't take any pictures! This is my first review with no pictures so JUST BELIEVE ME!! It is ALL THAT and more. The reason that I know that Poke Island Plus is official is because it has been opened for a while and my first visit was well after it has been opened. That is usually when you can see the quality of the restaurant, when a restaurant is new, they always provide the best service and the best food. The true test is do they maintain that same service and quality after they have been opened a while. I decided to get a poke bowl because a friend was talking about them and remembered there was one up the street in the Hunter's Village strip. When I went inside, I didn't know what I wanted and the gentleman there was patient and told me to take my time. I'm not a regular poke consumer so I had to do research for the best combinations and after picking a white rice, ahi tuna, steamed shrimp, avocado, cucumbers with tempura flakes, spicy mayo and eel sauce...it was DELICIOUS!!! Like really really good. It was just a deconstructed sushi roll to me. While I was there, I noticed that they had pho on the menu and bao buns...I was skeptical because it is a poke place. I found myself back at Poke Island the next day because it was a cold day and I wanted to try the pho. WHOA! I am taken aback...this place is too close to home with such tasty food. This is DANGEROUS!! The pho was so good. The broth was not watered down, it was hearty like what I am accustomed to at Saigon Bay! It was official pho with the hoisin and jalapeno slices. Authentic! I also ordered the bao buns just out of curiosity and they were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the bao buns that I've had at Token Ramen and Michi Ramen. They were a bit smaller but much tastier and the presentation was better as well. The service was great (the patient man-he may be the owner not sure he was of Asian background and the black girl in the front...so nice and friendly.) I wouldn't be surprised if I end up there today for lunch. read more

This place is so good! Came here on a whim since I was shopping next door. I was blown away by their chicken fried rice and bao buns! The pho was also great and tasty. My wife had the chicken Pho and it was good. Not as excellent as our other favorite pho place in the area, but still decent. I ordered the Vietnamese pork fried rice and I thought it was good. We also tried the fried Vietnamese spring rolls and they were good as well. My only complaint was that you paid $6.99 for one small order of two fried spring rolls. They don't need to be that expensive even if they are hand rolled. Service was okay. You order at the counter, they seem a bit busy or understaffed. The place seemed clean and bright. Even the rest room was clean. We would give them our repeat business. read more
