I was trying to kill time before a meeting but I didn't have time for a full sit down meal. I pass this place often and it's in a small, unsuspecting plaza so I checked the reviews, they looked good, and I figured I'd try it out. Being entirely honest, I wasn't as impressed as the reviews led me to hope. The server was very sweet and helpful, but they were out of a LOT of stuff. The snack case was literally about empty. Despite many reviews saying you could order your tea and also donuts from the mochi donut place a few doors down at the same time, no such option was available. I was offered Boba and when asked what kind, almost none but the regular "crunchy" was available (I'd call it chewy not crunchy but I digress). With that in mind, its a very cute shop. The vibe is nice, pretty relaxed and easy to settle into. The tea was absolutely delicious. I got a honey milk tea and it was really good. A regular came in behind me and recommended the fresh fruit tea which theyre apparently known for so I may give that a shot next time. Because a mildly disappointing experience definitely doesnt mean there won't be a next time! It's possible it was an off day or they were between deliveries so I'll definitely check them out again.
Taro jasmine green tea latte, 30% sweet. This spot is a Tampa classic spot that allows for a chill and cute spot for a computer work session. I really liked my taro tea and I would definitely come back to try some of the food items.
The service was good (friendly greeting & normal wait time for the drink). I tried the Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea. Unfortunately the flavor of the drink was off. It had a funky aftertaste so I could not drink much of it. I tried the same flavor at another business to be sure it wasn't a characteristic of that flavor & it was better. The inside of this place also had a weird smell so it seemed like it transferred to the drink.
this is one of my favorite tea shops. The best part being that you can choose the sweetness of your drink. I will always go out of my way to get a tea from here. they are consistently good! The same owners also own the mochi donut shop in the same plaza. So the food that they have displayed is from the donut shop three doors down! you can order everything in one place. don't forget to grab a snack!
This is a very great tea house. Best boba I ever tasted. Very good tasting boba. I recommend this place for everyone
Super yummy boba!!! Perfect chew and bounce to them, I wish there was more brown sugar in it since it was more just the pearls. Cheese foam is better than other boba places in the area! Taro milk tea was a great blend of it all. All I'd say is they could use some music in there, was a little silent. I'd definitely go back to try a fruit tea!
Pros: Clean and cute interior. You can modify the sugar content similar to Kung Fu. The boba itself was soft and chewy. They have a physical stamp card- 10 purchases gets a free drink.(Kung Fu switched to an app that makes it more cost prohibitive to get a free drink) They seem to come up with new drinks every so often. The Thai Tea was one of the better iterations I've had from a boba place and rivaled some from a few dedicated Thai restaurants. I would recommend getting it. The Strawberry Coconut Butterfly had a sweet coconut taste and the strawberry solution at the bottom was tasty. I don't know what the "blue" part is supposed to taste like, but it looked pretty though! Adequate parking Cons With tax, each drink costs about $7.15 (both Thai Tea and Strawberry coconut butterfly) Kung Fu /Kaleisia near USF are about $5.60 on average. A handful of customers came in during my time there. 1-2 had some mild errors (including boba when it was not asked or giving a matcha instead of monster flavor). Overall: A pretty good boba shop if you're in the Carrolwood or Waters area though it may be an occasional jaunt for me due to the multiple boba places closer to me.
Ding Tea is THE place to go if you desperately need some boba that's delicious, authentic, and enjoyable! I get these kicks fairly often, so when I one day was in Tampa and wanted boba, I immediately beelined to the nearest Ding Tea, because I knew it would be great based on visiting other locations. As suspected, Ding Tea did not fail!! They had a blueberry cheesecake milk tea special when I went that I just had to try, and I wish I had had a magical cup that just continued to refill every time it got to the last dregs. How amazing would that be?! What I love about Ding Tea is how many options they really have. They do also have food, but just with their teas there are long lists for black tea bases, blended drinks and milk teas and more. And you choose your sweetness level which is a wholeee game changer. Can't recommend hitting up a Ding Tea more! You will be swinging for the fences!
I have been on a Thai tea kick lately so I traveled to ding tea for adventure some new flavors The store front is in a plaza with a couple other shops I walked in and didn't realize how small it was gonna be but has a lot of potential everyone was crowded at the front to order but it went quickly, I order my Thai tea with rainbow jelly and not after that it was in my hand! I was able to admire the store a little bit and realized they had food and a cute back area. My tea was great the flavor was what I needed, the jelly's are a little firm but overall delicious
This Ding Tea used to be a solid 4.5 stars two years ago but has gone down hill ever since. I used to come here at least once a week years ago but I told my self to stop coming here until they start to care again, so I recently visited to see if anything changed but with my experience it showed me not to comeback to this franchise again ever. Ding tea Tampa, has been serving old watered down beverages and their sanitation has plummeted. It can be one person in the store for hours but all the other tables are rarely clean, and floors are dirty. If you expect to grab a quick snack from what they offer don't even bother, it could be a minute after they open and they won't have any in stock. Don't get me started on the service, it's just not a welcoming environment anymore, their either on the phone making you wait or rushing your order to get the person behind you as if money is going to fly away; and for $7+ for a drink it feels as though no one cares. After tip your drink is over 8.50,comes as one set size, leaking and watered down, don't waste your time coming here. Go to teastori on Fowler instead the employees are sweet and you get the most for your money along with fresh Boba.
What beautiful decor this location has! My favorite was the wings on the wall under their name. There were so many options for great photos. My tea was so sweet & refreshing. The only thing I wish it would of had was real fruit within the tea. The service was quick and friendly!
When I arrived to Ding tea they were working on a pretty big order of 8 teas. I was greeted promptly and they took my order. I got a Thai milk tea and a strawberry mango smoothie. It took about 15 minutes which is understandable, they were busy with a big order in front of me. My smoothie came out wrong, it had boba in it and I had ordered it with no boba. The man took it back and remade it. When it was finished they handed to me as the big party left. When I inquired about the Thai tea the woman working told me she accidentally gave it to the big party and to run after them. I had to knock on their car window to get my drink. It was very unprofessional. Onto the taste, the strawberry mango smoothie was very flavorful, smooth, and super tasty. The Thai tea on the other hand wasn't that great. The best part of the tea was the boba. I really enjoyed the small pearls they use and the boba was the perfect balance of firm but not to firm. The Thai tea tasted pretty watery. I've definitely had much better from other establishments.
They offer curbside and take credit cards! We were in the area and the moment I read on the Yelp page that they offer curbside, I was sold. When we arrived, I called and placed my order, matcha milk tea with black boba. There were quite a few people there and the parking lot was pretty busy. I'm glad they do curbside, because I wouldn't have wanted to walk in. I freaked out while waiting that they would only accept cash. I remember Got Tea only took cash and I had to use the ATM when I was there before. Thank you Melony R. for writing in your review that they do accept credit cards. That saved me a few more minutes of freaking out. It took a little while for them to bring out my drink, but like I said, they were a bit busy. Only reason I noticed is because I had a toddler freaking out that we weren't moving. The employee wore a mask and brought out my drink. She took my credit card back inside, charged it and brought it back. I assumed I was going to be able to write a tip when she brought the card back, but I didn't get the chance. Therefore, I owe them a tip and if you do curbside don't forget to tell them if you want to tip when they take your card away. The drink itself was good. Next time I think I'm going a step down in sweetness level. I did 100% and I didn't think it was too sweet, but I'm interested to see what the next step down tastes like. I loved the texture of the boba. Overall, I think it is a solid choice. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area. Especially since they offer curbside. Safety first!
Ding Tea Tampa is such a cute boba shop. I visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago and ordered a lychee black tea with strawberry popping boba. It was super refreshing, but a little on the sweet side. I love that this spot has super convenient parking and indoor seating. They also have a large menu including drinks like fruit teas, milk teas, or lattes. The service was efficient and friendly. read more

Better than your commercial boba tea places. They offer a lot of different options in terms of type of drink, flavor, and toppings which I can appreciate. My Thai Milk Tea with Black Boba was basic. Nothing to rave about, but at least it was good. If you do decide to grab a bite to eat be aware you'll have to walk two doors down to the Mochi Donut space they seem to be partnered with. The space was small, but cozy enough to relax with your drink for a bit alone or with a few friends. They have outlets along the wall where seating is which is nice. read more

Went out of my typical matcha latte today and got it with strawberry drizzle instead of cheese cream. Wow was it AMAZING! New favorite!! In case you're wondering I ordered the matcha latte unsweetened with almond milk and strawberry drizzle. Daughter got her typical signature milk tea with golden boba. Teas were fantastic and we were in and out quick today. Love us some Ding!! read more
Ding is just alright in the bubble tea arena. Ding took the place of 'Got Tea' which was my number 2 behind Kalesia Tea. Ding doesn't make it in the top 3. Kung Fu is now my number 2. Anyway, my go to is the taro or matcha slush/snow. They didn't have slush on the menu but I was pleased when they said that they could make the milk teas into slush which is really the way I prefer to drink them unless it's a fruit-like tea or tea-lemonade. The taste was a bit powdery. That's a no-no for me. I do like the fact that they take credit/debit because Got Tea was all cash and I always forgot. I'll probably stop in if in the area because it's definitely better than any bubble tea places on my side of town, but I won't be craving Ding and making a special trip. read more
Let's get this straight, no Boba in the country is comparable to the quality you'll find in a predominantly Asian community such as selective California cities. This is why I was excited to see a ding tea in Florida! I was skeptical of this place because while I trust the company, I'm not sure that boba is popular here. I settled for my usual beverage and as expected the tea was perfect sweetness but I can tell the boba is not as popular here. Fresh Boba will have a chewy QQ experience or it. Boba that has been sitting for hours will slowly so often on the outside and that was my experience here. Regardless I'm glad to have a taste of home across the country! read more

Good boba in a cute, clean cafe with great service. This is one of two new Ding Tea locations in Tampa. It is in the plaza where the original Yummy House used to be. They have a good selection of teas, slushes, juices and add ons. I had a classic milk tea, 25% sugar (which was still plenty sweet) with sea cream on top (basically like getting a salted caramel cream float on top of my tea). It was really good. My son had a kiwi slush with rainbow jelly, and he wanted to go back the next day for another one. My daughter had a strawberry milk tea. She was not a fan, but I think that's because she prefers popping boba to jelly. They also serve food like popcorn chicken and spring rolls. Sort of a hybrid between Vietnamese or Taiwanese street food. I haven't tried it and haven't seen anyone order it, but it's nice to know it's an option. read more
Super cute boba tea shop located in the Tampa area! The prices were decent. I ordered a passion fruit tea with boba. It looks like all their drinks only come in one size. I thought the boba were perfectly chewy. You can also customize your sugar and ice level. However, if you order no ice with your drink, it's an extra 70 cents which is a little ridiculous. read more

I walked in and the guy was really friendly. He gave me a hand out with pictures of the drinks and recommended me their best ones. I have no idea why I trusted him, but I did. It was probably because he was the one who makes the drinks. I got the top fruit and it was really good. It was the perfect mixture of tea and fruit. I know some other places that make the tea too strong that it's too bitter. I would also try crystal boba. It's chewier than normal boba and it lasts longer in the fridge! read more

So I was FINALLY able to stop by Ding Tea to try one of the drinks. ABFAB! As you can see from the pix, there wasn't much left by the time I got home to New Tampa. Five stars for the super helpful staff & delicious drink. It was the kumquat lemon ice tea with crystal boba and you could taste every single component of the mix. Since I'm not into really sweet drinks, they suggested 75% sweetness & it was perfect. I have to admit that this is only the 2nd time I've had crystal boba, and the slightly crunchy texture was initially a little surprising. The first time I had it I actually thought they were under cooked. Now I know that's their proper texture. And yes, I think that's an actual kumquat in the drink. Whatever it is, it tastes food. I wish there was a location closer to me -- I'd be there almost every day! Can't wait to try more from that huge menu. read more

Another great Boba shop in the Tampa Area, I still have a favorite but I won't mention that here, this review deserves its own glory because it is a very very tight race. I tried a milk tea, and the strawberry Yakult. Both were top notch, my drink didn't even make it home (I love 22mjn away) but not the point. At the end of the day it's really great boba and true to the flavors from the two I've tried so far. read more

I really like all the options they have. I always get the coffee flavor and so far never had a bad experience with it. Very consistent with their portions/recipes. So each time I go in, I know I'm getting the same awesome taste. Their tapioca pearls or bubbles are always fresh as well, chewy and never too soft nor hard. I will definitely be trying out other flavors soon, but every time I go in I end up getting the same. :) Give them a try and hopefully you will like them as much as I do. read more

I've been to Ding Tea multiple times before and they never disappoint. You can order inside and they even have seating available now. I had the Hokkaido black milk tea which was my first time trying that flavor and I loved it! But my fave will always be their tiger milk tea! read more

We came here because we were craving boa boa. This replaced the other tea place that was originally here when the plaza burned down. I was sad when it burned down because this was our go to spot! They have special precautions for COVID where it is mostly a contactless ordering process. We are to call and place our order and they come out and bring the order to you. They have PPE on, so I felt confident it was safe. Their selection is vast from milk teas to green teas. It was hard to decide what to get. I like their different flavors. I got the grapefruit honey green tea and it was delicious. It was about 4.95. It was a generous portion. If you opt to not get boa boa, the price is lower. Their presentation is very professional. I will come back here to try their other teas! read more
