This was a surprise to find for us. I love Vietnamese Coffee with Boba, but today we decided to try Boba tea. We both shared a Lemon Lime Green Tea & a Strawberry Coconut Cream Milk Tea. They were both super tasty & super refreshing. So they apparently come with boba. The lady taking my order said we could have chewy black boba or any other bobas. So from the list of other bobas I chose bursting mango bobas. Then she charged us an extra .75 per drink. So that & the tip made the bill rather high. Since moving to Tampa, Midtown Boba has been on my list of places to try. With my other boba-loving friend visiting the area, I thought there was no better time to check out this business until now (and I wish I would have sooner!). I typically stick to ordering any fruit based boba teas. This time I went with the mango lemon green tea and added strawberry popping boba. It was absolutely delicious! I loved that there were actual lemon slices included in my tea. My friend ordered the strawberry limeade tea and my sister ordered the strawberry fresca tea, each added mango or strawberry popping boba to their drinks. They loved their teas as well. We spent the morning walking around Bayshore, so grabbing a bubble tea to sip on afterwards was quite refreshing. The location is super easy to get to as well, especially since there are so many parking garages around Midtown (they are free, too). The inside had the cutest decor including a fun mural and hanging florals on the wall. There is limited seating inside, but that isn't really a problem since Midtown has so much outdoor seating anyways. The menu is quite large, so you have an abundance of options to choose from. I like Midtown Boba and surprised I haven't reviewed it yet. I have been here a few times and it's great as a grab and go stroll around Midtown. There's not much seating a few high chairs inside to look out and a few tables and chairs outside. They have more drink options now than before and that's great. This time around I ordered the strawberries and coconut cream but subbed mango purée instead of strawberry. It was really good but this one tasted mostly coconut to me. Either way it was still good. I pretty much knew what I wanted from viewing their online ordering menu. They have a Strawberries & Coconut Cream drink that can also be made with a mango puree. I substituted the strawberry with the mango, and added strawberry popping boba. It was creamy & delicious. The popping boba had that natural strawberry taste that was very pleasing. The service was quick & polite. All our questions were answered. They have fruit tea, milk tea, slushes, and milk alternatives. The non-dairy coconut cream mixed with tropical mango made it feel more like a mocktail. It could definitely be the perfect rum drink. What was missing? I just wish they had more of an indoor space with seating. There's a few chairs with bar seating along the window, as well as a few tables outside. I feel like it's more for the residents who are living, working, or staying in the Midtown complex. I guess that's the point. You're supposed to take it away with you. read more

It is across from a Sephora and there is a Joffrey's coffee a few doors down. There is also a Ben and Jerry across the street. The employees were super friendly and very kind. We got a couple of different teas and they made a Strawberry slushy for my kids. I don't think I would be back if I was in the area, but if you love Boba, it's nice and soft and chewy. The girls were very kind and they gave suggestions. The restroom is clean and they turned the hallway light on for me to walk down there. This boba shop is super clean and modern! It's located in the Midtown Tampa plaza where parking will not be an issue as there is a parking garage in that same plaza. The staff was super nice and offered to answer any questions we might have had since it was our first time there. I ordered the Tiger Thai Tea which is a thai tea with cake batter topping slathered along the sides of the cup similar to how brown sugar milk teas have the syrup along the sides. The drink had a good thai tea taste to it that was made just mildly sweeter than it was with the addition of the cake batter. The taste overall wasn't overwhelming. The boba is listed on their menu as "chewy boba", but it was a bit too soft for my liking. Fun fact: The shop is attached to a cycling studio which can be found in the back right of the store. The kids and I popped in for milk tea and were not disappointed. They had a great selection and the place was hopping! We got two Oreo Taro teas with popping boba for $18.00. So, price-wise it was a bit steep and the staff seemed very busy, not too engaging. The teas themselves were beautifully presented with whipped cream tiger striping on the inside of the cup and oreo crumbles inside and on top. I was nervous to order because I'm lactose intolerant and the menu didn't do a great job of describing which items were non-dairy and the staff member seemed a bit rushed to go over it with me so I just gave up and will have to try again next time. I asked about the sweetness level after I ordered and they said it's not sweetened but I can change sweetness to 0, 25, 50, 75 or 100. So I said - Okay well I'd like 50% and they're like well it's not sweetened already, so I was like, so am I adding or taking away sugar and it was totally unclear - apparently it depends on what drink you get. I think I ended up with a drink that is unaltered (Taro Milk Tea). It definitely was sweetened but I couldn't tell you at what level. Really confusing. 2) Fruit tea - just okay - lots of seeds 3) Apparently there is some kind of rewards/star program - because I saw a sign that said that, but again, no idea how it works or how to sign up. I heard about this boba spot from a friend and was also elated to see that vegan options for milk teas were labeled on the online menu (as sometimes nondairy/lactose-free drinks are not actually vegan). When I arrived, the menu in the store didn't have any of the milk tea drinks labeled as vegan, so I had to double check with the staff member and ultimately went with the matcha milk tea with oat milk. Including boba, the drink was a whopping $9.14 excluding tip. While my wallet cried a bit, I sipped with joy at how refreshing and delicious the drink was. The matcha tasted very natural and the bitterness went well with the neutral milk and sweetened boba. Also, the ice magically would not melt even after 4 hours (when I left the drink in the car to go on a hike), so the drink stayed cold and refreshing, undiluted from any melted ice. Overall I'm very impressed, and if not for the prices, this might be my go-to for boba! read more
