This is my third time visiting Sweet Krunch. I can definitely say I really am a fan. They have very good service and are friendly and helpful. I came in tonight and ordered the 8 piece chicken wings with soy garlic sauce. It's very tasty and crunchy and I did get a decent amount of chicken. This time I ordered the pickled radish for a side. You can also choose from fried rice and white rice, cole slaw and fries for other options. With this I requested a glass of water. The dining room was empty just us, but lots of to go orders were stopping by. Glad it appears since my first visit that they have been about a year. Happy to finally have had a chance to pop into Sweet Krunch. This is a counter service chain and very affordable. While casual the interiors were very clean and the staff nice and helpful. My family ordered 2 flavors of chicken which they served with a labeled divider to keep the flavors separate which was honestly perfect for my spice averse Daughter. We selected pickled radish as our side and got a packed full container of perfectly seasoned cubed radish, so refreshing. I ordered the shrimp bibimbap which had a generous portion of shrimp alongside the fried egg- they really packed the bowl quite full and I found it to be a great value for the price and quality of ingredients. Lastly, we all enjoyed a boba tea- they have a good selection of fruit, milk and slushes with a variety of jellies and popping boba as well as brown sugar boba. First time trying sweet Krunch i went in blind and was not dissatisfied! It's Korean chicken wings tastes really good and super krunchy. We got an 8 piece wing half spicy and half sweet chili. The fries were fresh and krunchy and they tasted really good. The drinks were the best boba I've had in while! The brown sugar added to the taro and really made it stand out! It's a very tasty lunch option when shopping in Wesley Chapel/New Tampa. Don't pass this one up if you love crispy Korean fried chicken. It's in the Shoppes at New Tampa off of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. There's plenty of parking despite being so close to Publix. The seating area inside is somewhat limited. The plushies around the counter are cute. They have boba drinks. I didn't get to try any of them. It's known more for the KFC, but it was the japchae that was the star of the show. I ordered it with bulgogi. Best decision ever! It was loaded with veggies & meat. I've only had japchae 3 times at other Korean restaurants in the bay area. This one is my favorite (by far). I'd go back just for this dish. The soy garlic fried chicken strips were good. I got the lunch special. I love that it's so crispy. The crispiest I've had in the area. Just choose wisely on the type of chicken. I usually get wings or drumsticks. The strips are white meat chicken, and somewhat dry. Maybe because it's double-fried white meat. That's the only negative. I would get the same flavor again, but in a different form. The French fries were great. The service was excellent! We were greeted right away and offered a menu. The menu has too many items to list, and many that I want to try next time. I read reviews a bit mixed but at the end it's what I wanted to try out. Nothing fancy still your typical Chinese restaurant feel but selling Boba teas and other kinds of teas. Light traffic in and out. I order the fried mixed wings and drum sticks with a side of fried rice to go with sauces on the side. Nothing fancy typical Chinese food ordered. But it's a Korean spot now. The chicken wasn't seasoned at all very bland I see why people get it cooked in the sauces. The fried rice was okay had better at other establishments. So this was my first and last time visiting. When you have been cooking and tasting food as long as I can remember you know right away what is good and what is bad. I can honestly say not for me but the location it's in will definitely be for the masses. This establishment will survive because people tend to like fast food and not worry how it's being prepared. Not I, but at times after a long week we tend to squeeze in a bad habit. Establishments like this helps me remember why I cook at home and stay far away from these type of eateries. read more

I initially tried this restaurant last year after it opened for a few months and thus giving them time to get things up and running. Food was overcooked at that time. I decided to give them another shot this past weekend and unfortunately I can't recommend this place to anyone. Once again, the chicken used in the chicken sandwich and the chicken strips were severely over fried. We couldn't eat most of it because we physically couldn't chew through it. The fries once again were overcooked and many had a crunch like you'd experience when eating a potato chip. I'm not sure how they continuously over fry their staple items, but it wasn't a fluke the first time around. Otherwise, our order was ready before the estimated pick up time and staff was courteous. Did I over order again ⁉ I have a confession to make: I'm addicted to crispy fried chicken... Specifically, ultra crunchy double-fried Korean fried chicken. Boneless or bone-in doesn't matter to me, it's all delicious af. This business notes they are "Korean Fried Chicken & Fruit Tea." Honestly, the chicken here is totally addictive and delicious, but it's definitely it's own thing. As someone that eats Korean style fried chicken all the time, in my opinion this is not "Korean" style fried chicken. 1 Soy Garlic Sauce - The sauce has delicious garlic fragrance and the bold 魚露 / nước mắm flavor comes through. 2 Spicy Sauce - Did not taste any 고추장 나 고춧가루 맛 and had a strong and satisfying honey aftertaste that I'm not used to with spicy 양념치킨 sauces. 3 Wings vs boneless - Boneless is crispy with a good breading to chicken ratio that reminded me more of a Japanese style karaage than a double fried Korean style boneless. The wings were tasty and well sauced, but were not crispy. 4 Fries - Just normal, may try their fried rice instead next time. 5 Radish - Complimentary 치킨무 was refreshing, not too sweet or sour and was a large container. 6 Tea - To me, the 濃茶 Nóng Chá was secondary to the chicken. It was fairly standard syrup version for fruit teas and powdered version for their milk teas. I didn't try their Sweet Chili sauce yet, because I assume that it tastes like Mae Ploy. First time trying this place. My wife's favorite Raman place merged with a another chain and quit selling raman. My wife ordered the Tonkotsu pork raman and I ordered the Bulgogi Bi-Bim-bap. My wife enjoyed the raman and took half of it home. The Bulgogi Bi-Bim-Bap was tasty and filling. Although, I wish it had more meat it in for the price. They have been open for just 2 months and so word seems to have gotten out slowly. There wasn't anyone in there when we arrived. The environment is clean simple and still being decorated. But the staff is friendly and attentive. It took me and my wife a few minutes to order but we decided on their lunch special of 6 wings with soy garlic sauce, fried rice and sweet ice tea. Plus we order takoyaki. What? In a Korean restaurant? Yes! And it was so tasty. The wings were very crispy and full of flavor. But the fried rice was the best thing. Seriously. It was plain fried rice but it had a chicken broth, garlicky, sweet and salty taste that went so well with the chicken. Thank God we found this place. It's so good and we are starting to get restaurants that are as diverse as the people that live here. We don't have to settle for overpriced breakfast places anymore. I am from the West Coast and absolutely love salt pepper chicken so I got that and it taste exactly like it used to for me back there. It is so underrated. I did not want to overkill the fried chicken so I got beef bulgogie which was fantastic. It is not like going to a, traditional Korean restaurant because it has mushrooms and broccoli, but it is definitely several steps up from Chinese people broccoli I will definitely get it again. I am not saying that this taste like beef and broccoli. It does not, but it is beef and broccoli and it is multi layered. My wife ordered spicy chicken Korean tacos, which again is more than Korean chicken inside a tortilla has a spicy mayonnaise and slaw to it. It is very filling. This is a cool place to hang out or get quick dinner or lunch I'm glad this area finally has restaurants that are not just generic food.
