We ordered pho dac biet and hu tieu without the pork. For both noodle dishes, we didn't get much meat. The pho dac biet came with about 5 slices of beef and 1 beef ball cut into 4. The hu tieu came with 5 shrimp. Both broths were a bit on the light side. The service was fine. The restaurant is pretty spacious, but not sure it can accomodate large parties since the majority of the table are booths. read more

Pho Quyen is a casual, no-frills Vietnamese spot on Fowler Avenue. It's convenient and straightforward, but overall fell short for me in a few key areas. *note there are two other pho Quyen's in the Tampa st Pete area each are run by different owners / different menu options and taste entirely. The pho broth lacked real depth of flavor for my taste, it was warm and filling but fairly bland, missing the richness and aromatics I usually expect from pho. The noodles and herbs were fine, but the broth is really what makes or breaks it for me. One small but noticeable detail was the drinking water, which tasted like straight tap water. Even with 3 lemons squeezed in ...Installing a basic filtration system doesn't cost much and would really improve the dining experience possibly the soup options. We also tried the crab rangoon, which was made with a wonton wrapper and didn't taste very good. That said, the kids thought the food was okay, so it wasn't a total miss for everyone at the table. Service was acceptable, and the restaurant itself is simple and functional. Nothing stood out as terrible, but nothing stood out as memorable either. Overall, it's an okay option if you're nearby, but the flavors didn't feel very authentic to me, and I wouldn't go out of my way to return when there are stronger Vietnamese options available in the area read more

I always tell myself that next time I'll try a different spot. This is the kind of place you go when you're already in the area, don't feel like driving far, and just need a quick pho fix. Unfortunately, the service has continued to decline each time I've visited. On my most recent visit, the summer rolls weren't enjoyable--the pork had a very strong "porky" taste that reminded me why I usually avoid it. The broth was also bland. Even after adding lime, chili oil, and jalapeños, it still didn't meet my expectations. I really wish this place did better, especially because it's so conveniently located and I know it's family-run. I truly want to support them, but at this point, I think it's time for me to try a different pho spot because I keep leaving disappointed. read more

Favorite Vietnamese place in Tampa. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Love ordering the create your own rolls with lemongrass beef or pork. Bun Bo hue is also excellent here. Pho Quyen will probably remain forever near and dear to us as it was one of the first places we dined in at after moving to Tampa. We could not have asked for a better restaurant to have our first full-service dine in experience in town. We were a bit homesick coming from New Jersey and looking for some food that will cure that lingering feeling. Our dining experience at a different Vietnamese sandwich place the previous day was not the best, so we were seeking a bit of redemption from that as well. Located in the University of South Florida footprint, Pho Quyen was located in an ideal location for us to explore while we visited. The restaurant curated a fanciful ambiance without the righteous pomp and fanfare. I mean there was a wine-rack/case in the middle of the restaurant. However, we were committed and stuck it out with the restaurant. Their bowls of pho established our baseline for the Tampa area. The broth was exactly the way we preferred, more savory than sweet, with noodles made al dente and great think cuts of bo (beef). After our initial visit, we came here two additional times which did not disappoint. The service was great and the staff was more than pleasant. It's smells so musty in there. I go there all time out of convenience and don't know if I noticed it got worse after the storm. It actually smells like sewage BUT The food is good and I like that they have a full bar. It's a shame they don't market this place to be more like a lounge with how awesome the bar set up is. I love Saigon Deli,but it's kinda like a crazy cafeteria in there lol. Fair prices for food. Solid pho. This is no 3 for me with Saigon Deli at 1 and Saigon Bay (56th street) at 2. This is just a hair behind S. Bay. The broth is serviceable,but there were no fresh jalapeno slices with my food. 7.5/10 Open Sundays and till 930 pm. I am a sucker for pho, and this one was pretty good. I usually always get the regular sliced beef, and this broth was very nice and sweetly delicious, you can never go wrong with it. The beef stew pho was alright, i'm not the biggest fan. The crab rangoons were also not bad, very cream cheesy. There's a lot of seating, and it's in a nice little plaza. I've had take out twice now from this location. Both times had be been fresh and delicious. My go to is the fresh rolls! Served with a peanut sauce, they are so fresh and tasty! My husband loves the pork egg rolls. Not like a traditional Chinese egg roll.. these are small and crispy fried and served with a broth dipping sauce. We can't get enough of them usually.. this location is located in a large shopping plaza and can be difficult with traffic but still plenty of room to park. My family and I have been going here for many years and I can't believe I thought I had a review up already! I may be a little biased but honestly Pho Quyen is one of the better Viet cuisines in the USF area. While I'm not the biggest fan of the Pho, the other dishes are always a hit and I love trying different items. My top faves that I highly recommend are of course the fresh summer rolls, the roasted quail app or the pepper shrimp app; the cubed butter beef with a side of fried rice; newest fave is the angel hair with grilled pork; and finally, my most fave since they are the only ones that offer it around here, whole fried pompano. When I ask for it, the owner generally knows who it is lol! Do yourself a favor and try out these dishes. I've watched this place come a long way and are well worth becoming your favorite as well. As we drove back to Orlando on our last day of our Florida trip, my lovely partner was in the mood for some Pho, and she found this location. The decor was a bit more modern than most Pho restaurants I've been to over the years, but nothing to write about. We were seated pretty quickly and had our orders in less than 10 minutes. We both wanted the Pho Quyen Dac Biet, so that was a quick and easy order. We actually took more time picking our smoothies. I had the avocado smoothie while she had a mango smoothie, both without boba. My smoothie was horrible. Almost no avocado flavor, and the ice wasn't blended well. My lunch date's mango smoothie wasn't blended well either, and oddly had boba balls in her drink after explicitly stating not to add them. When our Pho bowls came out, they look quite decent. Broth was not cloudy and had a nice flavor. They did remember that my partner emphasized not to add cilantro to her meal, so it was nice to see they left it on the side plate with the jalapeños and bean sprouts. I would say the Pho was OK. Would I recommend this place? Maybe if you really want some Vietnamese food. read more

I went last night, I order soup,tea ,and meal. When they served my meal they never brought utensils. I ask they said ok,7 minutes goes past and I asked this time at front counter. The rude waitress says go sit down I bring. 10 more minutes goes past. I get up and ask to pay for tea and soup. I told them it was horrible service. I use to eat at least once a week and I took my office staff for Christmas lunch. I'll never go back. Staff should be retrained or fired. read more

Looking for a good soup to have the other night when it was cold. We like Vietnamese soups and thought we put the directions for a different restaurant, but ended up here. We had never been here but decided to try it out and stay. We were not disappointed one bit. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the price/serving of the Fried Egg Rolls. They were just 2 extremely small egg rolls (literally 2 bites). My boyfriend ordered the Beef Combination Noodle Soup, and it came in a huge bowl. I ordered the Rice Vermicelli Bowl with Grilled Beef. It came with the lettuce carrots mixture they have. Mine was pretty plain, but really good. I couldn't eat all of mine. Our go to Vietnamese cuisine near USF area. Pho is not the best here but enough to fill the stomach. We have been here several time due to close proximity. Some night they are really fill up due to lack of service waiters and kitchen crew. If they can provide faster food delivery to table, they probably can clear out the table quicker. During the cold night pho is definitely a good choice. May be because of that, a lot people come for soup noodle. We have beef combination pho, chicken fried rice, grilled pork fried rice. All of them is good for this time. The food take some time to reach the table. Overall is good. We got the rainbow drink that we like. Came here for lunch with a friend, and we enjoyed the food and catching up. I ordered the fried rice with pork chop plate, and he ordered the fried rice with curried chicken. The pork chop plate included 2 pork chops, seasoned well with a generous serving of tasty fried rice. I would order it again.
