I used to live in Brandon and this was my go-to Chinese takeout spot. I always ordered for delivery. Never ate inside. We had a wonderful experience eating here. The food was just as delicious, but the way it was served and presented made it even more enjoyable. The vibe inside is relaxed. Decor seems like it hasn't been touched in a few years, but the staff is all friendly and courteous, and the food is brought out in courses, to enjoy one thing at a time. The food. This is by far one of the best Chinese food joints in Tampa Bay. When you don't even need to reach for the soy sauce because the protein, rices, and noodles have more than enough flavor on their own, you know the food's excellent. We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Crabmeat Rangoon, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, pork lo mein, and egg rolls. All of it was phenomenal! The one thing I didn't dig too much was the doughy-ness of the pork buns, but that's just how they are. The filling was delicious, though. The portions are GENEROUS! I didn't expect that much food from a dine-in experience. We have enough food to feed like three people with our leftovers. Can't wait to be back!

I've been in the Brandon area for 10 years and Lee House is only sit down Chinese restaurant in town. My partner loves it and always suggests it. Prior to the pandemic, I would only go because he liked it. The food was good, but the bitter old lady who owned it made me rather order out and eat at my dining room table. At least I was being yelled at for breathing. Fast forward to 2024... My partner wanted a sit down Chinese meal. I agreed to Lee House. I am glad we did. Four years is a lifetime in the restaurant world. We walked in and the feel was different. There were upgrades from the shabby cut up booths and fresh paint. We were immediately seated by a young lady and asked for our drink order. We received nice new menus with a plethora of items to order. Hot tea and water as we viewed the menu. I wasn't super hungry, more of an app and soup kind of a night. The sweet young lady came by to take our order a few minutes later. For me, a large bowl of wonton soup and beef skewers. My partner in crime, cashew chicken. The normal wait for any food, we talked about this and that. Dinner finally arrived. I loved how everything came out together so we can eat together. The large soup... you'll be taking home lunch tomorrow. I did not expect such a large bowl of beef broth yumminess. The wontons melted in my mouth and the broth, PERFECT! the green onions still crunchy and melded perfect with the broth. Yes, I had wonton soup for lunch today! The beef skewers in a syrupy mango sauce was to die for!! I sampled the cashew chicken with egg fried rice. I kept going back. So flavorful and more than 2 meals. Settling out, I chatted with our server how the food really hit a home run. To me, it was always a double. New owners, new look. I will definitely tell my partner when he wants Lee House, let's go!

Always had great service until today when I found a hair fried onto my salt and pepper pork chops. Ruined my appetite, never eating here again.

Someone said they serve dimsum at night too? Is that true? No carts though, right? just mark off dimsum menu?

I just ordered off the menu- it's 4:30 pm on a Tuesday.

The bao buns are a favorite of mines- the sauce for the chicken one is SO tasty. However, this time and the time past we were disappointed. I am a pescatarian and my daughter is a vegetarian, husband eats everything. They have removed so many GREAT items from the menu. The vegetarian section is literally stuff we make at home and we travel to eat here for the foods that are difficult or timely to make at home. Tom Yum (literally was the best EVER), baby bok choy, along with several other dishes are gone. I was left with eating Roti (great but fattening) and edamame. Again, I can make this at home. Worth a mention. We sat down and it took our server 20 minutes to greet us. We asked what was on draft, it says on the menu to ask, she handed us the menu (that we have already looked at for 20 minutes) and walked away. She complained that she had a huge table and was busy. No offense but...So...then ask someone else to handle our table. Not trying to be rude but we drove 1 hour and 45 minutes to specifically eat at this restaurant and you want to complain. So we waited ANOTHER 10 minutes and thank goodness the bar opened up with 3 seats. We moved after 30 min of waiting just for her to just take our drink order. Fortunately, the bartender was on point. She served our drinks and took our order. She is the reason for at least 3 stars. Not very happy about our last visit and friends have told us there are other places around there that the servers & menu will serve our needs better than our last experience. We never go to a restaurant and our bill is under $150. We work 6-7 days a week and are stressed just like many others. We just want good food, COLD drinks and friendly service.

The…read moremenu spans dim sum, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes, so you can build a meal that hits every craving in one sitting -- which is exactly what we did last night. We started with dim sum: taro dumplings (three pieces) and shark fin dumplings (four pieces) -- despite the name, there's no shark fin involved, it's just named for the shape, which resembles a shark fin. Filling-wise it tasted like a shu mai with pork and shrimp, just sealed closed rather than open-topped. Their house-made hot chili sauce was a standout -- just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dumplings. For entrées, I went with the Com Thit Nuong (Vietnamese grilled pork chop with egg), and my wife had the Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pork and shrimp crepe). We also ordered the salt and pepper calamari, which stole the show for me -- the batter was light and perfectly seasoned, fried up crunchy, and tossed with garlic and hot chilies. Hands down my favorite dish of the night. They also do a Mandarin-style pork chop that reminds me of the Peking-style pork chops you'd find in Chinatown, NYC -- a nice touch for anyone missing that flavor down here in Florida. Between the variety, the quality, and the consistency, Ha Long Bay remains a go-to for us. Highly recommend going in with a group so you can sample across all three cuisines.

Menu has a large selection and they came by with their dim sum cart and offered us some selections. Their pork dumpling and beef bun was good. So good and cooked very well. Sichuan beef: 2/5, thought it was gonna be more Chinese infused but it was just stir fry. Garlic pork chops: 2/5, heard great things but this was okay and too sweet. The place is elegantly decorated with an Asian theme. However, some of the benches attached to the booths had worn out upholstery. Our server, Yumi (spelling?) was polite and efficient. We had the salt and pepper squid appetizer. It was plentiful and great with the accompanying sauce. However, we didn't like the breading. And I dared to bite into one of the peppers that accompanied it and it set my mouth on fire. For dinner we had the Szechuan scallops and the XO fish. The scallops were tasty and the dish had lots of broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms. The sauce was a bit sweeter than we expected. The XO fish sauce was very similar to the Szechuan sauce and though the fish was a tad salty, it was still savory. The asparagus that accompanied that dish was chopped (easier to eat) and there were plenty of sweet snap peas and bell peppers. We adore snow pea tips and were in the mood for lots of veggies. So, we got an order to accompany our meals. We did take home most of it, along with lots of broccoli (for me) from the Szechuan scallops. We were treated to a complimentary Chinese-style dessert made with peeled split mung beans and thickened with tapioca starch into a gooey, translucent pudding that was served warm. Our meal of 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 order of veggies, a pot of tea, tax, and tip was $138.
