Delicious Thai food! This was our first visit to Ploy Thai and we will come back when we are in Tampa. When I arrived at the restaurant I waited almost 5 minutes to be greeted, once I was greeted I was sat. The atmosphere is nice. The service was good. They have a lot of vegetarian items available. I ordered the fried tofu and drunken noodle with tofu. The appetizer was ok but very bland, they did offer a dipping sauce. The drunken noodle was so spicy that I couldn't eat it. I was hungry so I ate some. I order mild but the chili flavor was way too spicy. I am willing to try this place again with another dish but not anytime soon. read more

This is a decent Thai place. Found it on a whim. The tea drinks are really good! I had the passion fruit tea and it was really good. I would definitely recommend it and order it again. Was looking for a Thai restaurant in Brandon and we came across Ploy Thai. We were seated immediately and the server was very attentive. The restaurant itself was very well decorated and had a nice ambiance. For our dinner, we got the Tofu Spicy Noodles and Tofu Pad Thai and both dishes were excellent. The Spicy Noodles were a good spicy (personally could've been a bit spicier) with plenty of flavor and not too greasy. The Pad Thai was a bit sweet and savory with a good peanut flavor, which we really enjoyed. For dessert, we got the Sticky Mango Rice and it was delicious. The mango was perfectly sweet with plenty of coconut sauce for the rice and mangoes. Only thing to note, we were not impressed with their appetizer selection but that is just our opinion. All right so we were visiting the area apparently and just found a place on yelp order. The soup tasted difference. I mean nothing I was used to and also the pad Thai way different more tomato. We ordered out on uber eats, so it took about an hour before we could actually eat it after it was prepared and YET, it was still delicious!!! I really enjoyed my pad thai, and I'm very picky on my Thai food. I got it Thai hot, and it had the perfect amount of spice! I really liked the amount of onions they had in it and the flavor was on point! I ate the whole thing in one sitting! We also got the basil fried rice, which were loaded up with vegetables. I thought the dish was okay, nothing incredible, but still good for its price point. The price wasn't outrageous (esp on Uber eats with the added surcharge) like some of the other Thai places ($15.95 for pad Thai, $12.95 for basil fried rice) so I will definitely be ordering again! read more

Spring rolls very tasty, I would dare say the best I've tasted. I had the shrimps in Ginger Sauce with veggies, really good and flavorful. I've been on a pad thai kick lately, chicken pad thai to be exact. It twas late, and I was hungry, so I searched up the nearest pad thai locations and came across Ploy Thai. Stopping in 30 minutes until close to place a quick to-go order, I fell in love with the rich atmosphere oozing Thai culture. Located in Brandon, this casual restaurant serves classic dishes such as green and Penang curries plus sushi. I got an order of the chicken pad Thai, vegetable spring rolls, and a Thai tea. The pad Thai I was served was flavorful and delicious, albeit it was was a smaller serving size than other locations and lacked the heat that I usually am greeted with from other Thai dishes. Adorned with limes, bean sprouts, and green onions, it had a beautiful presentation for being a take-out order. The Thai tea was refreshing and sweet, and the vegetable spring rolls were hot and crispy. Out of 5 stars, I give this restaurant a 4.5. Beautiful restaurant, friendly service, hot food. For quite some time this was one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Tampa. My last order just takeout for dinner, but wow the portions are miniscule considering how expensive the food is. We spent around $50 or more and the to-go portions looked smaller than what you would get a lunch time. Ploy Thai was on my regular rotation when I used to work in the surrounding area over 8 years ago, and came for lunch for old times sake with one of my old lunch buddies. Of all the times I have eaten here, I always ordered the same thing, which was the Panang Duck, because I loved it that much. Today, I ordered Drunken Duck, Thai hot. It was delicious, especially the noodles, which were nice and chewy, and obviously soaked and not boiled. The duck was crispy, and wish there was more! An egg roll and chicken rice soup was also included which was a nice start to our meal. My friend ordered our past fav, Panang Duck, and I think if she could have, she would have licked the plate. We didn't exactly have room for dessert, but when our friendly server mentioned coconut ice cream with fried bananas, we had to have it. Good decision. My coworkers would go to this place once a week and come back to the office bragging about how good their lunch was. I decided to invite myself on their next Thai Tuesday trip, and I'm glad I did! Now I come here about once a week. I never thought I'd be a "Thai guy". The food never really called out to me. But this place changed that for me. I was wrong! The pad Thai is delightful. I even ventured out of my comfort zone a bit and tried the seafood pad Thai. Now it's one of my favorites. But my favorite is the curry. You can't go wrong with any of the curry dishes they offer. Red curry and green curry (w chicken) are my go-tos. Just a super flavorful curry, vegetables, chicken, and a mound of rice. I love moving my rice around and letting it soak up that delicious curry before shoveling it into my mouth. Oh so good. They will make it to your preferred spice level as well. I've been coming so much, I've climbed the ladder all the way to Thai Hot! I've never tried the sushi, but I know they have that as well. My experience was a 6/10 But the food and my overall rating is 7.4/10. The food is authentic, decoration and vibe is nice. My rate is based off of: They did not have many of the things I wanted that is advertised: snapper, and mango sticky rice. The staff is very nice. The Tom kha is very good, highly recommend. Eggplant & scallops is a fan favorite. They also sell a lot of Thai snack that is sold on the counter, we purchased 3 things but I have to say it is forrsure overpriced. We got the taro coconut chewy ball dessert (forgot the name) they heated it up for us to eat which is nice and that was $7-8. Pandan dessert 4 balls for $8. Overall if I lived in the area I would come again, and would recommend to those that live close by but since I live in Tampa it is not worth the drive.
