don't listen to the bad reviews, they probably come from mean ol' people who just had a real bad day and don't know how to keep it to themselves. i love this place. the food is savory and the staff is friendly. i really wish they had more dine-in's, because the ambiance is worth enjoying. front-of-house is modestly, yet cozily dressed. it just makes it a little awkward for introverts like me to get comfortable when i have the only party present. but hey, if you're into a quiet spot, this place is perfect. when it comes to the food, it makes me melt. first bite and i'm just wishing the plate regenerated over and over again. i only order the sushi because im picky (yet getting the one thing typical picky eaters don't touch ) but every time without fail it's so yummy and very well-plated. there's an artist behind that counter, i swear. moral of the story is that this place is perfect for u, especially if you live in the valrico suburbs just down the road. quick, easy, and beyond satisfying. read more

We ordered chicken chow mein, chicken pad Thai, house special lo mein, vegetable fried rice and egg rolls. I have to say that everything was average to above average and I was especially surprised that the pad Thai was as good as it was. Also a big plus for very healthy portions where each entrée is really enough for two people. Also give the place plus for having it ready in less than 15 minute call in for pick up. Pass on the bourbon chicken. I'm not sure anyone could be happy with it. We should've known not to order it because a couple who were already done eating barely touched theirs. The orange chicken was really good! Not pictured it the Richard Roll (eel and salmon) and I thought it was really good. We dined at a time they were empty so I can't speak for how they are when busy but the host/waitress was so polite and friendly! The portions are enough to share. We ordered miso soup, hot and sour soup,Edamame, salt and pepper calamari, chicken and shrimp pad thai and house special fried rice. Soups were fantastic. The best hot and sour I have had in a long time, rich and the right balance of hot and sour. Miso soup was great but my husband the salt freak added salt. My only bad review here will be the salt and pepper calamari was so overfried, no tentacles and no fresh jalapeños. Didn't care for that dish. This is our go to place for Sushi or Chinese food for the little guy. The staff is super friendly once they know you and they even take the time to make the orange chicken for our little with only the chicken and the sauce. He likes it so much he goes up on his own to dine for lunch and always suggest to go there all the time for dinner. Their sushi boat is an amazing work of art as well as a great value. Empty, uninspiring, i reconsidered having sushi with an unknown spot and uncertain fresh fish delivery date. This was a lucky move because - in a word - their Chinese offerings are delicious!! Chef's Trio in garlic sauce is flavorful, cooked perfectly, and shareable. The staff were fine, appearing to have less English than culinary skills, but service was good. I placed the take out order via telephone at 5:45pm, they told me "the food would be ready in 20 minutes". I was there shortly after 6pm expecting for the food to be nearly ready. They were NOT that busy, but they literally gave me my food at 6:45pm. It took them ONE HOUR to prepare food that they said would be ready for me in 20 minutes. Of course they had me pay for it immediately when I walked in the door, otherwise I would have gone somewhere else. After waiting for over half an hour, I explained to the girl at the front counter that I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, but it took an hour. Instead of apologizing, she made excuses with a sarcastic attitude telling me that orders were coming in on line, and the kitchen was running behind for that reason. I didn't ask for excuses. But an apology would have been nice. She made more excuses after walking away from me while I was speaking to her, the first time. Further, they kept bringing out additional orders to sit on the front counter that sat there, getting cold. While I was patiently waiting for my order at the front counter. So, it appears to me that the "on line orders" take priority, despite the fact that the people are Not even inside their establishment, waiting for their food. The girl at the front desk also told me some silly story that they are Not allowed to disclose wait times to their customers over the phone. I am Not asking them to disclose anything. But it sure would be nice if they would just be HONEST, and not Lie to me about the wait time. I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone who I know, and I will NOT be returning again. This restaurant is a far cry from when it originally opened as China Fuji. My parents' friends originally owned the restaurant when it opened. Ordered sushi rolls and they were nothing special. One of the rolls had so much tempura crunch on it that it looked like snow. The fish was not that fresh and our order was ready 30minutes after they said it would be. Save yourself the time and get good sushi from sushi ninja, sushi kampai or sunflower cafe. read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant and I ordered take out. I tried the General Tso's Chicken with Egg Fried rice Wok Lunch. The staff was really friendly and the food came out quickly. The price was decent for a lunch meal ($6.35). The food was better than I expected. Not the best I've had but definitely not bad. The chicken was crispy and had a decent amount of heat. But if the menu has changed, management has changed, the name has changed, delivery is no longer offered, and the decor has changed--it's not the same restaurant is it? Just be up front, as this is very off-putting. Although the menu is mainly sushi, Chinese is still served. I ordered mixed vegetables in garlic sauce. Delishious! We are glad this place is here. First time trying it. When we got there people were in line for take out and the dinning room was at half capacity. I thought it must be good if that many people headed there straight after work on a weekday! We were immediately seated. They even gave us crunchy noodles and duck sauce as we waited for our order. Never again ! They didnt bring my husbands lo mein , , in which I had to pay an extra two dollars for , they didnt even bring rice ! Nothing . Peanuts on his Kung Po Chicken but not on my shrimp Pad tai . The pad tai is HORRIBLE ! I called the restaurant , asking where the lo mein was and had an employee or owner argue with me over the things that were not here or wrong ! I am pregnant and this rude lady was not able to answer me in a friendly way when I ask if she could cook or frie the sushi roll , because I am not allowed to eat raw fish. - Of course no. While my wife and I were visiting from out of town, this establishment was recommended to us. Our take out was ready on time and was superb. I had Shrimp Mein Fun, a very large serving I ate over two meals, which contained probably 6 nice large shrimp that did not taste of chlorine. My wife had Chicken with broccoli, another very large serving, which she ate over three meals and the broccoli was very fresh. Next time we're in Valrico and desiring Chinese, we will order here.
