We decided to try Jasmine Thai when our typical Thai restaurant we frequently go to sadly has closed down. Located in Brandon on Lumsden Road you will find This restaurant. It's located in a very large strip mall shopping center. This restaurant is decorated very beautifully. I've never been to Thailand but imagine it's similar. The staff also dress the part which is interesting. For appetizer we shared Steamed Dumpling. They are stuffed with pork and shrimp. For dinner I ordered the Panang Curry with Pork. I asked them to also add some pineapple to my Panang Curry. Both the Dumplings and the Panang Curry were delicious. I would definitely return to Jasmine Thai and highly recommend it! read more

I came for dinner and the restaurant is decoratwd beautifully. It is very clean. The bathroom is clean as well (which is important to me when dining out) The lady who greeted me and waited on me was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was sooo delicious. I had the spring rolls (spring and pork) and the Pad Kee Mao (Spicy Noodles) They were both very good. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu soon. read more

Went here with family recently after years of going to another, local Thai restaurant. This has always been recommended by a close friend but we always went to our "other" Thai restaurant. We had a great experience with the red curry and Panang curry dishes. A real treat with the same food but a slightly different flavor and approach to these dishes. I think it has been 10 years since I've visited this restaurant. We tried it one time after our favorite Simply Thai on Bloomingdale closed. I remember the coconut ice cream with lychee fruit was very good but I didn't remember anything else. All I know is that mom thought her sweet and sour dish was just okay so we never went back. Jasmine Thai had also been closed for renovations when I tried to revisit a second time. It was all bad timing on my part. I just had to go back for my first review of 2022 and try it again as it seems to be a local favorite in that area of Brandon and the most recent reviews all look promising. The other reviews with the low ratings seem to be more about the Pad Thai which I wouldn't order anyway. I love peanuts but not in my stir fry or noodle dishes. I had Pad Thai once or twice and I'm pretty sure I don't like it. So, I placed a takeout order over the phone and had one very important request. I asked her, "Please, please make the Thai basil spicy Thai hot for my husband, and don't give him the Americanized version or he will be very disappointed." Well, they totally delivered because he was so happy with his Thai basil with pork. So much so that he said, "Why haven't you told me about this place?" This is a guy who loves it when he breaks out in a sweat because the food is spicy hot, and has enjoyed eating spicy peppers all his life. His dad used to grow hot peppers and they would eat them off the vine. Yeah, I don't get it... but he loves it. Also, it wasn't just about the spice for him. It also has to have a good taste and it obviously did. My pineapple curry with crispy duck was good. I've had better curry at other Thai restaurants in the area, but I appreciated that there was a good quantity of pineapple and protein. The duck was also crispy which was great. What I missed was the fresh Thai basil in the curry. It was just missing that one ingredient, and I do love that basil. I also may need to order it with a medium spice level next time. I forgot to do that. The spice level was very mild but the curry and coconut flavors were there. The Thai spring roll was very good. We both agreed that the wrapping was chewy and not crispy. Maybe it's the wrap that they use. The ground pork and shrimp inside was wonderful. It had a little bit of a smoky taste as well. The fried banana coins were very yummy. This is on their dessert menu. I loved the honey sesame seed sauce. It almost tasted like there was a little wine in it but I think it was just the type of honey. It went so well with the crunchy banana bites. I would totally get this again. Which means we have to go back but next time we need to dine in. The décor is so beautiful and bright. I think it would be a great dine in experience. I immediately noticed that the service was wonderful. Also I love that the hostess was wearing traditional Thai clothing. She looked so beautiful and elegant. There were other diners in the restaurant when I was picking up my order, and the fact that it was busy didn't seem to faze her. She handled everything professionally, and even went back to get more spices for me because I was a little concerned that my husband's dish wouldn't be hot enough. This is not a concern anymore. I see more visits in the future, and I won't wait another 10 years to go back. read more

What do I love about Jasmine Thai?? EVERYTHING!! Nestled in shopping plaza, great food, great prices. I went twice in the last week and never disappointed on my first visit, I had the wonton soup and green curry. The soup, amazing. Chicken wontons, and the broth, rich. The green curry chicken had a bite, not a burn your mouth bite, just perfect. Not into so spicy. On my second visit, of course I had the soup again, because I can have that everyday. My partner and I shared the sampler platter and that was a meal in and of itself. Kudos to the crab Rangoon. Real cream cheese, spillith over.. Definitely homemade. OK this review is going to be weird. This place is gorgeous inside and the staff are dressed authentically. There were 6 of us and the service was spot on. Now for the weird part - we ordered various spiced foods. Taste was as expected, spice did not overwhelm the flavor. However, my husband and I both experienced severe vomiting in the middle of that night. I don't know why!? Take what you need from this review but there are plenty of other Thai cuisine choices in the area. Came upon this place by chance when visiting some other stores in the plaza where it is located. Thai food sounded good when dinner time rolled around and I was out running errands. The inside is decorated very well and we were seated very promptly upon arriving. Food also came out rather quickly and was very fresh and flavorful. I had the hot pepper basil chicken, which is usually my go to at any Thai restaurant that offers it. The portion was plentiful and accompanied by enough rice to go with the dish. I've tried many things from pineapple fried rice to chicken mango curry to bang bang chicken that I know if I want to try something new, I can and will likely love it. We came around 6:30pm on a Friday night, and it was busy. Keep in mind this is a smaller place with one main waitress so if you have a shorter patience, you may want to come outside of their peak dinner rush. We were not prepared for the portion sizes so after ordering crab Rangoon and shrimp fried rice as an appetizer we were nearly full. For drinks I had the sweet Thai ice coffee and my husband had hot jasmine tea. My coffee was a little sweeter than I prefer but that's just how Thai coffee is. My husband's tea was piping hot and very good. We ordered the green curry soup and the fried dumpling soup as our dinners. After eating only a few bites we were full. Hello leftovers! The staff was gracious to box up our food for us. This was an excellent idea before heading to Painting With A Twist, which is in the same shopping center, for our date night. When we entered we were amazed by the decor of the restaurant as well as the dress of the servers as it was giving a feeling like we are in Thailand. For the dinner we ordered Chicken Potstickers, Chicken Red Curry, Lo Mein Chicken Noodles and Chicken Spicy Fried Rice. The service was good and we first got our potstickers. The potstickers were amazing in taste and then we got our rest of the food. Chicken Curry was the best and we loved that. It was one of the best we tried. Our first time here as we were just passing through the area. We were here for a weekday lunch. It was nice and clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The water for our hot tea was just warm. The staff replaced it promptly with hot water. My Penang Curry had okay flavor but not as spicy hot as I prefer. But that's okay - it was my first time here. The thing that has me rating this place a 3 was the temperature of my food. My wife's Pad Thai was hot. My food was just warm. I think their pot of sauce for the Penang Curry was only warm - hence a just warm meal for me. I ate it but let staff know so they could make kitchen corrections. Do they ever? A great local Thai spot in Tampa! My fiance and her family swear by Jasmine's and so we have ended up there each time we visit in Tampa. I usually get the pad thai, but the spicy noodles is also a favorite. Everything is so simple, but delicious. They vary the spice level if you need, so you always end up with what you want. They also provide a soup with each meal (I usually go with miso). The service is nice and friendly and they're happy to explain any of the dishes. I ate here after visiting Wat Mongkolratanaram Buddhist Temple, and I loved everything I ate here! Thanks Yelp for guiding me to another great restaurant. Jasmine Thai closes in the afternoon between their lunch and dinner shifts, so check their hours in case you visit during their break time. The restaurant has a lot of seating options. It is somewhat dim inside, so it might be difficult to see for some with eye sigh problems. There is a full bar in the front, but my favorite decor of the restaurant is the wood tables and chairs. They are beautifully and intricately carved wooden furniture that bring extra life to this authentic Thai restaurant. I started with Thai coffee, which I like better because it is less sweet than Thai tea, but both are offered here. I loved the coffee; they don't overload it with condensed milk. Dishes we ordered: - Coconut Soup: Cream of coconut soup with mushrooms, onions, scallion, flavored with galangal, lemon grass and kaffir leaves, with choice of protein (Chicken/ Shrimp/ Tofu/ Vegetables). I got shrimp in this soup, which was incredibly creamy but light and not filling. It's an excellent appetizer with bright flavors. - Beef salad: a mix of greens with lightly cooked beef and a tart lime-fish sauce dressing. The - Chicken Fried Rice: a good, standard fried rice. They give a good amount in the portion, but I am also happy with a side of white rice which I got upon request with my other dishes. - Two Friends Panang: their "Award winning dish" has Shrimp and chicken, asparagus, mixed vegetables, coconut milk and crushed peanuts with panang curry paste. This is my favorite type of curry, and theirs is made deliciously! I definitely recommend this hearty and generous curry. - Beef Pad Se-Ew: Sautéed wide rice noodles with egg, broccoli, and carrots. This is a filling noodle dish with lots of meat and veggies. - Grilled Shrimp & Scallop: The shrimp and scallops are HUGE and served on skewers with mixed vegetables and seasoning with garlic sauce. This dish is best shared because the portion is generous. For dessert, we finished with Coconut Ice Cream With Sweet Sticky Rice. Our meal was absolutely delicious, and the service even better. This is an authentic Thai restaurant and a wonderful place to enjoy a special meal with family, friends, or dates. read more

I have enjoyed this restaurant for the past 20 years. For being in a strip mall it has a nice and calm ambiance. The food is a mixture of Thai and Indian. Some dishes lean one way and some the other. The Curries are phenomenal. You pick your base dish with the type of Curry and vegetables you like and then you add the protein. I had the Massaman curry with pork and added pineapple while my wife had garlic chicken with broccoli. Since we came at an odd time ( just the start of Rush hour for people driving home from work) it was mostly empty. Only one server at that time but she was as attentive as she needed to be. This is my second time here. They are open at the Christmas Day night. Not too busy compared to many other restaurant open at that day. The interior of this place is beautifully set up. I like their decorations. We were sit immediately on second small room. Including us is about three tables of customers. We have ordered Black pepper basil crispy duck and Spicy noodle with squid. Food delivery is on time. The black pepper basil squid is average. The spicy noodle seem like not cook in high heat because I cannot taste the burn oil. Both dish is actually made for American Thai flavor. The local may like it but I am looking for good Thai which is average. The service is not measured up. We were not able to get attention of our waitress. But the other two tables was able grab her attention. Some how we got ignored.
