I came here with my family for a late dinner on Saturday. It was all of our first time there. It took about 5-10mins for our waiter to bring us our menu after seating us. He was the only server working though, and there were 2 tables waiting to cash out. Service was overall good though. I ordered the Grouper Pad Char, which was DELICIOUS!! I usually prefer fish grilled/blackened. This one was breaded & deep fried, but the breading was super crunchy & very well-seasoned!! The sauce was awesome (medium spice), and it had lots of veggies. My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice, which was really good! He ordered it with hot spice level, which was the perfect combination that balanced out the spicy, sweet & salty flavors. My mom had cashew nut stir fry w/ pork, which she loved. The sauce on it was thinner than the sauces used at other Thai restaurants so I didn't like it as much, but it was still good. My mother-in-law ordered Chicken Pad Sew Ew. I was disappointed w/ it because the sauce was also a lot thinner & not the same flavor as what I'm used to. So we order Thai chilli pepper through Grubhub and picked up our order. The order was ready promptly, which was great, but in my order of pad Thai I specifically wrote in special instructions "no bean sprouts" and to my surprise, when I got home and opened up my dish, there were so many bean sprouts that I spent most of the night trying to pick them out and I ended up putting them in my boyfriends spicy fried rice (that's why there are so many pictured). Definitely disappointed that they didn't read the instructions. Additionally, I wish they different to-go containers. It's one of those 3-sectioned foam containers so it looks like more food than it is and also due to the aluminum foil on the bottom, when I eat it with my fork, I would scrape off pieces of aluminum foil with my dish and accidentally eat it. If they switched to a plastic container it would be a lot better. The thing that made up for all the mistakes and the presentation was the flavor. I really enjoyed the sauce of the pad Thai, although I wished it were spicier (I ordered Thai hot), but that's subjective. I'd give this place an extra star if I could. The food taste is Superb. If you guys want the best duck ever this is the place. I don't even like duck. This is five star. So worth the money going here. It's a little spicy but not super spicy. You can actually taste the food not just the heat. Pineapple cucumbers onions everything stood together well. The duck sauce was amazing. The soup was a seafood soup that was well done. As a matter of fact the soup is what impressed me first! Please support these people if you are in the mood for great Thai food. This was a happy accident. I've eaten plenty of Thai places and this one tops them all just with the soup and duck. Now I'm curious to see how their Pad Thai holds up. It is a smaller restaurant and I went when it was raining so there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. We ordered from Uber Eats to try a new local Thai restaurant. We ordered Crab Rangoons, Thai Wings, Lemongrass Chicken and Pumpkin Curry Shrimp. Everything was delicious and fresh. The only thing I would change is that the description listed everything in the curry sauce. Honestly surprised at the average rating of Thai Chilli Pepper. Ordered here based on the yelp reviews. Scheduled a delivery on doordash and food arrived almost an hour late and cold. Things happen which is understandable but that does not excuse the poor execution of the food. Panang curry: no spice even though I ordered Thai hot and a dish that usually has a beautiful depth of flavor was presented bland and seasonless. Not to mention the overall scarcity of ingredients despite having paid extra for meat. Wings: it doesn't take a Gordon Ramsey palate to detect overcooked, dry, and likely left out wings tossed in sauce to salvage. Like the last couple wings left out under the warming tray at a two bit buffet that nobody wants... It appears that this joint skimps out on ingredients and time despite the price tag. Will not be ordering again. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere like Tuk Tuk Thai. Flavor and overall product seems secondary to this establishment. read more

The food was good but I am confused by the total amount I was charged + they charge extra for paying with card. I ordered a drink (6.50 on their website) and fried rice (17.95 with my choice of protein on their website) over the phone and was shocked to hear my total was almost 30 dollars. When I put the same order into their online checkout it added a 1.75 convenience fee that totaled the same amount I was told over the phone. I am not sure why this fee is necessary? My brother picked up to go for our family dinner. Having tried most all of the Thai restaurants in Tampa, I would say this is a better Thai restaurant. There is another location in LUtz, hopefully it's the same owner Chicken fried rice no veggies - 5/5 very well seasoned and cooked. For such a simple dish it was not bland. -Drunken noodles with chicken - 4/5 I would think this is a great dish if you were eating in the restaurant. The flavors were definitely there but by the time it got to its destination the noodles were clumped together. It was slightly spicier than pad Thai. -Beef salad - 5/5 this felt like a healthier dish with good amount of meat portion -Chicken Pad Thai - 5/5 Super fresh and ingredients blended well together, plentiful peanuts to top it off. I would maybe suggest more bean sprouts for texture. -Gyoza - 3/5 these are very small with very minimal filling -Chicken masamon curry with potato- 3/5 not a fan of this dish. I will stick with Penang curry next time -bancock wings- 4/5 Very soft and flavorful. Comes with a side salad with peanut dressing. - Papaya salad -4/5 fresh salad but very small portion compared to most restaurants. I have been here twice recently. I ordered Pad Thai Chicken both times and Beef Salad. I came twice because it was the best tasting Pad Thai I've had in a long time. However, in the course of a few weeks and spreading leftovers out for lunches I have ended up with bad migraines within an hour after eating. I'm not sure what ingredients they use. MSG perhaps? I was craving Thai food this weekend so I ventured out to Thai Chilli Pepper which used to be Thai Smiles in my old reviews. This time, there was a completely new staff and they were very friendly. Food Thai Iced Coffee: Very delicious if you love Thai coffee. Shrimp Tom Yum: It was piping hot when it came out but it was very delicious and the shrimp were huge! I liked it a lot. House Fried Rice: It was very delish but it was very oily. I was not used to that but it was still delish nonetheless. Spicy Drunken Noodles: It was a different taste from the regular drunken noodles, there was a red paste or sauce that was overpowering the dish and I wasn't a fan. I'll definitely stick to regular drunken noodles now. Overall, the place wasn't too bad. Our cups didn't get refilled but the waiters were nice. When they came with the bill, the waiter had a handheld credit card scanner so that made the process very fast and efficient. I may return in the future. read more

I was looking for something new today so I searched Yelp for my area. Thai Chili Pepper had great reviews so we ventured there. The sign says "Modern Thai" so my interest was peaked. We entered to soft classical music playing with some Thai inspired decorations, however it was the art work that caught my eye. We were greeted promptly and our server was very friendly. We ordered Crab Rangoon to start and I asked our server for a recommendation between Thai Sweet and Sour and Spicy Basil . I have not had a Thai Basil dish in years due to a few poor experiences, however he said it was his favorite so in ordered it. I have to say it was very happy with our experience. The Crab Rangoon was delicious. The crisp outside was not greasy and the filling was just right. My Spicy Basil, I ordered with Chicken, was devine. The red peppers were sweet and crisp and the carrots smooth and not bitter. My chicken was tender and had flavor throughout the meat. The staff are very friendly and know the menu items well. There are numerous soups, salads and appetizers to choose from. The crab rangoons and bangkok wings were excellent. As for the entrees , they serve several different coconut curry dishes, noodle dishes, salads, fried rice, and Thai specialty items. The chicken pad thai and yellow coconut curry with chicken were delicious. I heard the pineapple fried was excellent. I will try that next visit. Thai Chilli Pepper is a local, hidden gem. I wouldn't typically expect a great local restaurant in a strip center, but because of so many great Yelp reviews, I knew I had to give it a try. I am so glad I did! I ordered the Pad Thai mild, as I have had a few unpleasant experiences lately at other establishments with the food being way spicier than the menu describes. My husband got the "medium-to-hot" and said that he barely tasted any spice, so while that was disappointing to him, I now know that I can do a higher spice level than mild, without it being so hot that it clears my sinuses. My husband asked for no peanuts on his Pad Thai, and his order was made correctly. We both thought the Pad Thai was incredible. While the prices were a little high, I could look past it because the portions were huge! We ate it for dinner, lunch the next day and I still had a little bit leftover! I really appreciated that the staff was knowledgeable about what menu items were gluten-free, or could be modified to be gluten-free, as my husband has Celiac Disease. We used the pickup option, and while I wish that there was a curbside ordering option on the website, the restaurant was very clean inside and the food was ready to pickup as soon as we arrived. I was disappointed in this location. I definitely prefer the other Brandon location near the hospital. Was not sure what to order. It was between the stir fry vegetables with beef or the Thai chili with beef. The server recommended the Thai chili. What I did not realize was how sweet and oily it was. I do not like sweet food. The server never asked did I want it spicy like she asked the other table when they ordered. She asked did I like the food I told her no it was too sweet. She said next time try something different! WTF so I picked out the beef and ate that with the rice. All the vegetables was such a disappointment because it was so sweet and oily. I paid the bill and they didn't even give me a copy of my receipt. My sister and said we should have gone to the other Brandon location. This was definitely not worth the money. I've been ordering from this place for a couple of years already and find their Thai food to be pretty good for the area but what they did on our last order is unethical. They decided to add a $10 tip to our to go order which we obviously did not add. The fact that they felt like they could get away with adding an unauthorized tip on a to go order is despicable. Obviously we cannot trust this business anymore and will no longer be buying food from there. Just wanted to warn any patrons to check your charges to ensure they don't inflate the tip after you've paid. It's upsetting that they would try to take advantage of customers like that and now they lost loyal customers.
