I also tried their Bo kho which is the beef stew, they have the mini Vietnamese tacos very crispy, and other options like the broken egg rice and vermicelli noodles to pair with pork and fish sauce. They also have banh bo lot which is a popular option people love to get as well as dessert options like making your own Che. Ambiance is a tight space, parking is also tight, you for feel crammed. Food was just meh. Highlights were pho, mussels and banh xeo, other than that nothing was really wow or buffet worthy. They had soups in a ninja, other foods were just dry especially thit kho. The banh xeo was really crispy which was great but it had 1 small shrimp in it and a bit of bean sprouts. I think this restaurant has potential just needs professional looking cookware. Great concept, love the fact that we can try a bunch of different Vietnamese dishes. It felt like going to a family member/friends' house party. The food was delicious, especially the chicken salad (goi ga) and mussels. Areas for improvement would be to keep the food hot as some of the dishes, such as the banh beo, were cold/dry and to find a better way to serve the desserts as the current way can lead to things getting in. Vietnamese buffet? I bet they are the only one in Florida!! This place is in Pinellas Park, a bit of a drive from major cities like Tampa and St Pete, but totally worth a trip. We had to wait a while for a table, as you can imagine the place is packed!! There's a great variety of stuff, but first, pour yourself some Thai tea before you start exploring all the dishes they offer. I love their bánh xèo. So delicately crispy and flavorful. There is a pho bar to custom order your favorite bowl of pho, as well as many different types of noodles, thick or thin. There are egg rolls and summer rolls, bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls), bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes in a bowl), and for entrees dishes like clay pot fish, grilled pork, beef with bread, and the lemongrass chicken feet - I am not particularly a big fan of chicken feet, but this was so delicious I went back for third... For desserts there is Chè, where you can add different types of beans and jelly together with coconut milk, for a perfect finish to your meal. Overall, the quality of individual dishes goes from a B to A+. Some of the meat can be chewy. But I love it nonetheless, because of this place offers such a nice variety of dishes, many not often found in your standard pho-heavy Vietnamese restaurants. Most of the dishes were warm and on the cold side, hence my lower rating. I like my food hot. The mussels were fantastic, pho was very good. I love this place for any and all viet cuisine cravings. I came here with friends and I believe they offer an all you can eat option on the weekends, maybe throughout the week? But not sure. The food was always fresh, the drinks were delicious and it's one price for food, drinks, and dessert. Even though it was a buffet, I recall a few servers coming by the table and checking in to ensure everything was fine. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The place is a bit small so larger groups might like to call in before arriving but it seated our party 8 and there were a few more tables around. But the food is the important part, and I think they do a great job! Loved the fried chicken and rice platter. They are really generous with the rice and chicken. The thigh and drumstick are both huge and there is a heaping portion of rice. You will not leave hungry! The chicken was super crispy on the outside while staying tender and moist on the inside. Came here on a short trip to Florida on the way from Orlando to Clearwater beach. The place had a clean ambiance, located just off the Main Street. We ordered the Bun Dau Mam Tom, as I've never tried the dish and it wasn't something I saw often back home in Seattle. It was very flavorful especially with the Mam Tom sauce they serve it with, highly recommend! Also tried their sugarcane juice, which was also very refreshing on a hot day. I subbed the pork meat for the fish cake which is an extra $2 charge, and I was so full! I would opt in for extra bun next time but the food was great. The portion was generous. Shocked. Why hasn't this restaurant received more attention and rave reviews than the five 5 STAR reviews as of Dec 1, 2024? I live in Valrico but drive to Pinellas County for the MUCH better Viet available here. There's been a spurt of new Viet places open up, and I have to admit that this place was LOW on my "to try" list. Part of the issue is, believe it or not, that decor is maybe right on the edge of too instagram cute. If you have to draw people in by creating opportunities for selfies, then I find that the restaurant usually cares about drumming up social media interest over the quality of the food. Well, I can tell you that I after I ate my amazing meal here, I ate my hat for dessert. For that of you that don't know what that means, I ate my words and gladly proclaimed myself to be BONKERS WRONG when it comes to this restaurant. Until my meal here, I had pegged Pho Kien Giang as the best of Pinellas. That title (and my money) is now being handed over to Quan Nguon Bistro. Vietnamese food comes down to broth, broth, and broth! My kids and I ordered 2 bowls of phenomenal Bun Bo Hue and 1 of the Special Pho. Although we arrived at 1230p and were the ONLY diners until 130p, we noticed that this restaurant did not skimp on the necessary time, fresh ingredients, and quality spices needed to beat flavor and body into the broth, regardless of how many people showed up to eat their food. I've been to enough places where they keep enough "basic" broth simmering, and at the last minute, will add a spoonful of seasoning to add flavor.... in case there aren't a lot of diners that day. Honestly, at the first taste of any of the broths here, they ALL immediately made me think of my Vietnamese Aunt's cooking. She lives in San Fran and insists on growing her own herbs to control the quality of her Pho and Bun Bo Hue. She is THAT picky, and I can't think of a better compliment! Delicious! Absolutely Amazing! Strangely enough, not sure if it was that day or Post-Helena Hurricane damanage, but no one could get a cellular signal in that area on Tmobile or Verizon.
