I particularly like the refreshing drinks they make (sea salt foam coffee, milk teas, fruit teas, corn milk!) and the variety of desserts (flan, yogurt, che). The price here isn't bad either. Pho dac biet and bun bo bue is $14.95. The amount of meat in their noodle soups is very filling. I say Quan Ngon (yummy cafe as it translates) is trendy because they have several streetfood items you can't find in other Vietnamese restaurants. One of my favs is bun dau mam tom, which is rice noodles with sliced pork belly and very pungent dipping sauce. If you are adventurous try it. Pinellas Park amazing! I live in St Pete, but I tell everyone that I'm from Pinellas Park, because PP is where I spend all of my time and hard earned cash on these wonderful local businesses! For real, the food here is divine, exciting, and transports you to the intended flavor location. Sorry, but my reviews get flagged now when I name countries, but you know where I am talking about. Check the specials board behind the counter, as there is always something new. The owners are really on top of things considering the massive amount of volume and customers lately. The international food trends pop up on the menu here as well. The ambiance is natural wood tables and outdoor market vibe, while totally indoors. They have a "produce market" in the corner of the shop that has so many delicious and hard-to-find fruits that are not only pretty to look at, but also tasty. As a result, we are trying this new restaurant. I like this due to their special menu. We have started with my favorite the salted egg escargot. The escargot coating has the crispy coating very delicious. The are more than 10 count of escargot. We also got their popcorn chicken. It is just ok. If they have more fry basil is better. Came twice and they were closed both time. The hours are not right because they seem to close anytime they want. Came at 8pm but they said they were closed since 7pm. Don't judge the place by the plaza! Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised by how cute and trendy this place looks. Not a typical Viet hole-in-a-wall, rather an insta-worthy sleek new age place. For lunch, I ordered this week's special: Bo Né, which is a cast iron skillet of sweet braised beef with sunny side up egg and pâté with a side of sweet pickled veggies, topped with cilantro as garnish. Plus, a baguette bun. This dish, I'm told, is typically eaten for breakfast in Vietnam. For me, it was a great choice for lunch. It was handsdown delicious! I'm use to this place having bad and slow service for mid food. But today was unexpected as our server had horrible attitude from the moment we came in till we left. We didn't even bother to finish our food and just packed it up and left. Wasn't worth dealing with a server with horrible service. Broken pieces of plastic found in my Bo Ne. The food was great, bread was soft and crunchy and meat was cooked just right. The pate tasted better than other pates I've tried. The server was this latina who was friendly and helpful, as well as the gentleman who seated me. While half way through my meal, I started chewing on some pieces that were hard to chew, when I spit them out, it was a few broken plastic pieces that looked like glass. I wasn't too concerned with the broken pieces that were left by the cook. I was more disappointed that the staff only said "sorry". Usually a discount is offered or voucher to come back next time, but I didn't get anything. I still gave a tip and went on my way. Because I only got an apology, I didn't come back to try anything else. I really wanted to come back and eat a few other dishes, but this experience deterred me. It's not about the money here, it was about showing a customer that you want to earn their business in the future. I could care less about a dollar or two discount, as it doesn't affect some customers. This is more about customer appreciation. I hope the management or owner is listening and take notes. Good thing I didn't cut myself or swallow those broken plastics. If this were a child, it would be a choking hazard and a lawsuit pending.
