The service here has gone down a lot in the last few years. I think maybe the restaurant is too big for the amount of staff they have because it feels like you tend to get forgotten unless you're one of the parties of 10 in the middle of the room. The tables are sticky and restroom cleanliness could use work. The food is still amazing, don't get me wrong. I will still happily hide in the corner and consume an entire bowl of beef pho and a sweet tea or a pot of jasmine tea. But if you want a speedy meal or need more regular service, I don't know that this is the place for you. read more

Have been a customer for years after being introduced to the one near usf. Feel like this is a better location though. If you're looking for pho, this is one of the best. Their menu is huge and offer so many good Vietnamese options. I got the beef pho and my fiancé got the beef stew pho. The broth was like warm and lacking in the richness like most pho broths do and the quality of the protein was also of a lower standard. The soup even though a small was big enough for 2 people and tasted authentic very flavorful. I've been here prob 30-40 times because it's so close and don't think I can keep going back anymore. My friend who is Vietnamese said they were closed for renovations. Went in next day after reopening which was Monday and didn't see any renovations just that awful fabolouso cleaning smell. I've always had pleasant experiences here, close to my kids school I will often pop in for some quick appetizers. The fresh rolls are to die for. Served with a peanut sauce. And the egg rolls are not traditional as you would think. They are smaller crispy fried stuffed with pork and served with a broth dipping sauce. We can't get enough! We are visitors to Tampa, so this isn't a regular spot that we can say we've been to repeatedly. Next time in Tampa though, we would definitely come back, based on the Pho we ate. I discovered Pho Quyen when my son began attending Berkeley Prep in TnC in 2012...I was living in Lutz. I immediately got hooked on their stir fry chicken with FRESH basil. I either ate in the restaurant or did take out....I loved the dish and the staff was always professional. I now live in Carrollwood, but whenever the opportunity comes up to go to TnC, I ALWAYS phone in a take-out order for that same dish. I love the way it is cooked and it is enough for two meals for me. ONCE I tried the location near Univ Sq Mall...don't know if it is even still there....but it was AWFUL as they used powdered basil instead of fresh. Great vegetarian Vietnamese food! I had coconut curry noodle soup which normally has chicken, but it was no problem to ask for fried tofu instead. It was chock full of veggies and noodles and the coconut broth was flavorful and not too heavy. The portion size was huge. I had enough for two full meals. Our summer rolls were fresh and delicious. My husband's pho was full of noodles and meat. Often there is a lot of soup left over, but he had so much good stuff, he had a bite of something to the very bottom of the bowl. I have always seen this restaurant here throughout the years off of Hillsborough and Sheldon. It's inside of a plaza and I have always judge the book by its cover and I regret it. As soon as you go in, you're agreed with some of the friendliest staff I have seen in Tampa Bay area at a restaurant in a long while. I mean the service was incredible. Everyone was so attentive to us. We ordered the edamame and spring rolls as appetizers, which came out deliciously fresh. And hot! For the entrées we ordered the soft egg noodle plate with an array of vegetables, and you can top it with your choice of protein, including chicken, beef, shrimp etc. both dishes were absolutely amazing and seasoned to perfection. My wife got the crispy egg noodle plate with chicken and broccoli. The meals are priced accordingly and the portions are more than fair some would even say big. We ordered: fried shrimp, fried egg rolls, edamame, wonton soup, pho, fried rice, and stir fried pork with broken rice. We also ordered several drinks. All in all, the food was fine, but not my favorite. We were starving, but I only thought the egg rolls were so so. The fried shrimp wasn't crispy, and the seasoning was not bold enough. The wonton was a good size, and it was tasty. The pho was underseasoned and missing something. The fried rice was fine. The stir fried pork was drowned in gravy and not great. With so many Vietnamese restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, this place doesn't warrant repeat business as far as I'm concerned. Wait staff was attentive, service was quick. Hubster and I went with the 2 variations of the coconut curry. He went with the soup, and I went with the stir fry. Huge plates! I'm not a fan of vegetables in my Asian cuisine, so I left those behind, (Someday, I will get up the nerve to ask them to leave them out), but the onions were actually really good! So good! I was researching a few spots to eat before my trip to Tampa and stumbled upon this gem! I arrived on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was pretty much empty. I was seated immediately and my order was taken fast. I ordered the beef combination pho and it came out super fast and piping hot! It was a huge bowl served with jalapeños, lime, bean sprouts and basil on the side. This pho was sooooo good and tasted super fresh. Sweeter broth, but good nevertheless.
