As can been seen from the date of my original review - I've been a 'Seedy' (what Mustard Seed's hardcore fans call themselves, okay not actually) from the beginning. Good news first - the food is still 5 stars. Still the best sandwiches in Tampa. They've taken over the neighboring store and added some indoor seating. Seems like the business is going well - this is awesome! Bad news - some Gen Z food influencer must be pumping this place on the TikTok algo because the last couple times I've visited (at weekend lunch times admittedly) there have been twenty 25-29 year old dudes with mustaches and backwards hats all waiting for takeout. That level of business seems to be breaking the operation a bit as It's taken 45-60 minutes to get our food which is brutal (and never used to happen). The food that comes out is still up their quality, which is great. But that wait.... Here's to hoping they open a second location closer to Tampa so the TikTok bros have an alternative!
The sammies here were made fresh and packed with plenty of ingredients. I ordered the Bessie and Ann chicken. The Bessie had a lot of roast beef and I was a big fan of the horseradish sauce. The Ann chicken parm was my favorite. The chicken cutlet was hot and fried perfectly. The chicken was juicy, basil pesto and the tomato cream sauce were very rich. Both sammies were fair in price. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other sammies and salads. Highly recommend ordering in advance as the wait times can be long.
Came here on Friday for lunch since we were in the area. Place is beautiful inside and has lots of outdoor seating. They have extensive menu including cold and warm sandwiches, soups and salads. It's much more pleasant and much more beautiful than your typical deli place. Service was attentive and friendly. I had chicken sandwich and a salad. My husband had beef sandwich. Portions were huge! I would say it's like very much upgraded Panera Bread before it was bought by private equity and became a corporate disaster. Definitely recommend and will come back when we are in the area.
Love the esthetic of this quaint sandwich shop!! Reminds me of home (up north)... the staff is great and many of their sandwiches sound great. I opted for the Bessie with vinaigrette on the side $13-14 (although I wanted to try the Renee). The sandwich was tasty but based on other reviews, I did expect more meat and the roast beef itself was "raw meaty tasting"/BLAND and lacking some flavoring. Nor did I get the horseradish "zang" flavor as expected. I much rather seasoned roast beef and tad spicier horsy sauce, yet I still enjoyed overall. The pricing is a bit high imo, but still recommend trying/supporting this local business by all means. I will for sure be back to try other sandwiches in the near future.
Small place with ok parking. Offer up different and unique sandwiches and sides. Looks fun feels like a sandwich shop. Looks more like an old fashion deli. Odds and ends related to sandwich and sides. Lightly themed with no little to no indoor seating but some out door seating. Had a few different sandwiches from here now and have been really impressed. Good quality ingredients and fair price for the most part. Service is very nice and helpful. They normally know what's in stock and not. Side note make sure you have a back up option as they do run out of items sometimes.
Well someone told me about this place and I decided to make the 35 minute drive to check it out on a nice Saturday afternoon. It is a quaint looking establishment. It is small and the menu is not that huge as you can see in the photograph. The staff was very pleasant. They gave me enough time to look over the menu and make my decision. I decided to go for the Ann sandwich. Which is an eggplant version that you can look in the menu for the details. I also got the mustard seed potato salad with a soda. The Ann was good the eggplant cooked correctly and the only thing was that the cheese was a tad much. It was coming off in layers as I ate. The potato salad was homemade in my opinion, big chunks, and not overly creamy, but with a hint of mustard that you could taste, but was not overpowering. All in all I give this place 4.6 stars.
Worth the trouble of the crowded parking lot. The food is made fresh on site. The grilled cheese is no ordinary grilled cheese. It's a gourmet, fantastic tasting sandwich. It isn't greasy and it melty and comforting. We also ate the Kevin (yep that's the name of it). It's a hot honey chicken sandwich and is delicious. This service is friendly; the restaurant is clean and the wait is worth it.
Right here in Lutz. The food was good I had the Bessie. The service was slow but they did have a lot phone in orders so there is that. The ambiance was warm and inviting. A little gramma looking but added to the meal. I was surprised by the price. I had a sandwich and a drink and it was $23 including 20% tip. For one person That was a pricey deli sandwich for sure.
Very high-quality sandwiches coming out of this quaint shop in Land O Lakes. I came here with my Dad for lunch and the ingredients, flavors, and textures of these sandwiches and wraps are just great. I got to try the two sandwiches my Dad got, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm not typically a sandwich person, but the bread was so soft, almost focaccia-like and oh my gosh the tuna salad inside the Cranston was delicious. It was my favorite of everything we got. I would definitely want to come back to try the turkey sandwich too. If you're a sandwich connoisseur, you have to come by this spot!
Pricey but delicious! So many unique menu items we can't wait to return. The Dante was very good! Excellent service and clean seating area. Also decorated very cute inside!
I completely forgot about this place when it opened until a friend of mine went recently. Popped in for lunch and they have such a good sandwich menu I couldn't decide what I wanted - so I got two and did half and half. Went with the Mary which is a cold turkey sandwich and also Lucky which is a hot pastrami. The pastrami was SO GOOD!! Way better than the Mary in my opinion. I even ate the leftover half cold for dinner. They also have salads, soups, and other delicious looking sides and chips to choose from. It is a little pricy but definitely worth the trip, especially if you're looking for something a little different than the average sub. The service was fast. A little confusing, you order at one side but don't pay until the food is ready and they call your name. It's also pretty small in there with only about 2 tables but they do have a lovely outdoor seating area too. Inside also has other little shop items that were fun to browse. Will definitely go back, looking forward to trying more options.
This is the friendliest service I have ever seen. Very nice and clean restaurant with a few tables inside and lots outside. Parking is hard. My wife got the chicken salad sandwich that was good. I got the Italian one first on the menu. It was huge and full of delicious meats and a wonderful dressing. Best sandwich I've had in a while. We got the cauliflower bisque that was amazing.
Country chic sandwich shop and deli. Great variety of gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads and pasta. There's also a cute little gift shop with cutting boards, cookbooks and knickknacks. Super busy on a Saturday! Friendly and quick service, especially given the size of the lube. One bite and you'll know why. Sandwiches are delicious, creative and huge. Easily enough for two hungry people. Fresh veggies, crispy bread, perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of everything. Salad was great too. Minus one star because they had the music turned up rather loud, which would be fine except it kept on cutting out during my lunch. Very annoying and made the meal less enjoyable.

10/10 no notes. This really lived up to the hype. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my entire life. So flavorful and fresh. Such a quaint and cute spot, support local ALWAYS. Food was prepared in front of you and you can see how freshly made with LOVE it is! It was our first time eating here and WOW!! The cutest shop that felt very family-like. The place was quite clean too. I don't understand why people complain about the prices, I didn't think they were bad and you're getting a very large portion in my opinion. The employees were very friendly and our food was made promptly. There was plenty of seating for our group of 4. The sandwiches were way larger than expected, so we were happy about that. I'm at a loss for words at how amazing and delicious this food is. We all agreed these were the absolute BEST sandwiches we ever had. Ever. Everything was so fresh and the flavor was amazing! It was like a slice of heaven in every bite. I did get a side of cucumber salad that was amazing, I couldn't finish because I was so full from the sandwich. Everything was fresh. The bread was so good. This will be our new lunch spot whenever we visit. A must try!! I can't wait to go back. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. The food is excellent. The chicken Caesar wrap, buffalo chicken wrap, Renee.. I could go on! The bread is always fresh and great sides. Recommend the potato salad. Might be a wait sometimes but food is worth it and staff is friendly. Love the outdoor seating! read more
Excellent Deli's are hard to come across in Florida. The Mustard Seed knocks it out of the park on sandwiches and sides. I had a $15.98 Lucky (kind of like a reuben, but with coleslaw, and not on rye). I thought this sandwich was just ok. I wouldn't order it again. I also had a $12.50 Mary. Bomb! Delicious! Yum! Loved it! Then, I got a side of the Mustard Seed potato salad. Really liked that as well. Looks like the broccoli salad is the most popular as they were out of it for the day. Order at 1 register, to then pay at another. Lots of outdoor seating. read more
I so wanted to five star love this place. Looked at the pictures, went through the reviews. However, we had a few hiccups that squelched are excitement. Here are the positives and negatives. The place is adorable and so inviting!! Seems to have a very good vibe and the warm sandwiches at least the one we got, the Giovanni was delicious. However, the cold sandwich the bread just really needed to be warmed up. It did not taste like it was super fresh bread. Where things went sideways, started when we went to order. We clearly told the lady it was our first time there and as we started to order, she said what side would you like with the first sandwich? I said, sides are included? I was just looking at the sandwich choices, not reading the entire menu. She said yes sides are included. So that changed our order because I was gonna get the meatball sandwich but then they had a special side of beef chili. They give you a little number. They tell you they'll call you when it's ready to pay. Everything seems great. My girlfriend went to pay while I was outside. Now mind you were expecting a $25 bill plus tax and add tip. The girl at the register just looks at her and says $53 and change . She repeated that to the lady and she said yes no explanation. So she looks down at the touchscreen and has to hit back a couple of screens. The lady still says nothing. Yes, at this point now somebody's going to say the sides aren't free. It is on the menu you are correct, but it's your first time there and the person upfront offers you aside and tells you they're included. Still that's eight dollars, the only aggravating part is I changed my order because of the sides. I think the meatball sandwich probably would've been awesome. What really turned me off for this place is when she saw that they included what seemed to be about a 25% tip. The screen was already set up to just tap and go. There was no option for tip unless you backed two screens backwards. Don't get me wrong. We are a good tippers for good service, but never try to set the system up without giving the customer the option. That to me is just egregious. I have tipped $100 extra on top of a 20% tip, and I've also not gone back to a restaurant that added a tip where we left cash as the tip and they still charged my credit card for a tip. I consider that unethical. Maybe it was a mistake. I don't know, but that's our first impression. The fact that the cashier gave no further information when we repeated the price to her and looked completely shocked. leads me to believe it wasn't the first time. read more

We ordered through UberEats this time just for plain convenience purposes. I was going to order wraps from a cheap cafe but they were closed, and I've always wanted to try The Mustard Seed Deli so it was the perfect opportunity. Well, let's just say they gained some loyal customers. Although, I did find out that the price markup on UberEats is pretty drastic. Since we're pretty close, we'll be picking up in person next time BUT I did see they have an order online option on their website too. I tried the Buffalo chicken wrap, which was excellent. Not too spicy, good flavor. It was a huge sized portion. I had half the wrap and saved the rest for later. I love that the Gorgonzola isn't overpowering. Some will put too much where that flavor takes over everything, but it was actually just an enhancement here. My daughter tried the Keith (meatball sandwich). I got to take a small bite and it was pretty tasty! My husband tried the Kevin, and that was so excellent! That's going to be a new staple. I also got a side of the mustard seed potato salad, which I just found to be so tasty. It had great mustard flavor, a nice tang, and just a little bit of herbaceousness. This is what potato salad should taste like. All in all, this is a seriously fantastic deli. We will be back... and often. This review was sitting in my drafts, and within 2 weeks, we've already been back twice. Soo....that's saying something. Every time it's just as good as the first. read more

My second or third time stopping in. Great spot for lunch. Plenty or soup, sandwich and wrap options. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap which is huge, I could only finish half while dining in and took the other half Togo. I did love it though. Love the old soda options. Looks like they also have different cakes and stuff. read more

In the past month I've tried the Mustard Seed Deli twice, and both times we ordered takeout. Everything was delicious! The sandwiches are a little pricey, but they are loaded with meat and definitely worth it for such fresh, high-quality sandwiches. The Italian was one of my favorites, and the eggplant sandwich was also incredibly delicious. The sides we got were great too--I especially enjoyed the cucumber salad and the potato salad. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We'll definitely be back! read more

Absolute perfection each and every time I come here! I have yet to have something that was anything less than delicious, and I typically try to stretch my sandwiches in to two meals if possible just to extend the delight. It's about a 20-30 minute drive for me, but is always always worth it. My first try was the Renee - prosciutto, burrata and fig preserves and balsamic... I mean COME ON. Insanely delicious and hard to stray from to try any others. I am often torn on what to get, a repeat of a fave or expand further in to the menu? It's almost a relief that they offer limited runs of some of their specials, as that means I have one less option to choose between the next go around. I'll keep my review to the ones that are always available, but if you see a special sandwich of the month - try it! You'll miss it when it's gone!! Their tuna, the "Cranston", makes what could easily be a boring menu staple an elevated experience. Great flavor, crisp and refreshing. I'd say it's surprisingly good, but again I've never had anything disappoint me from here. It's easy to see why Heisenberg himself gave it such high praise - earning his stamp of approval led to naming the sandwich after him. Give it a try, it's seriously the best damn tuna sandwich you will find! The Mary is another classic. Turkey, bacon, provolone, sun dried tomato crema, house vinaigrette and herb aioli? Get. In. My. Mouth. Sounds so basic, but trust, it will bring you pure delight. I could go on about the food here all day. But aside from the sandwiches the shop itself is super cute, with charcuterie type honeys, sauces and servingware that you can add on to your order. They used to offer specialty cheeses as well, but even the packaged sauces rise to their standard of OMG, yesss give me more. The staff is always smiling and friendly, it's easy to see why they're so well loved. My only, ONLY gripe is that there aren't more locations throughout Tampa so that I can easily pop in whenever the craving hits. read more

Great tasting, high quality sandwiches. They're a tad pricey but we all know you get what you pay for! They also offer some desserts, a few side options, and small market items. The place is cute, located in a strip plaza with not a ton of parking but completely sufficient for the spot. read more

It's stupid how good this place is! I went for lunch and thought about going back for dinner. Three days later and I can't stop thinking about this sandwich. You know how when you were a kid and say something like, "I love that sandwich," and then another kid says, " Well then why don't you marry it?" Well I would actually marry this sandwich!!! read more

I don't often drive to this part of town but I knew we had to find a lunch spot while we were out. Found this place on maps and had a good feeling about it. I ordered the Ann with chicken cutlet and my boyfriend ordered the Lucky. No doubt, one of the best deli sandwiches we've ever had. We were super impressed! The food was brought to us soon after we ordered it. The outdoor seating was great with plenty of shade. We will be returning! read more
