Stopped in for lunch before headed to RMNP. Pretty big restaurant and they had nice Christmas displays with several Christmas trees decorated nicely. It was such a nice surprise! Kids loved it! We had the canh chua lau ca (sweet and sour fish hot pot) and ca kho to (carmalized fish) along with a veggie noodle dish. Everything was delicious and prepared well. It's hard to get me to try new things. But when I got introduced to the concept of Pho in 2007, my life found a new calling. First off, there's such thing as cheap and rushed PHO, that isn't as fresh, looks like it was microwaved and over the top butt-kicking PHO with colossal portions of food, gigantic egg roles, and it doesn't have this undesirable smell of fish. Well the BBQ Pork Bowl was essential for my drunk soul at the time, and the taste was electric and the vegetables were fresh and watered. It wasn't dry and sulking. The Meal Combo #52, which has steak, an egg, white rice noodles, and vegetables is literally what keeps me from exploring other locations. This is my favorite restaurant of all times! Before my husband and I moved up north our favorite restaurant was called Saigon bowl on federal and alameda. Saigon basil is pretty much the same with just as delicious food! We absolutely love their food here and customer service is always amazing here! We come here at least once every week or two. My husband tends to get the same things but I like to be adventurous. Hopefully I'll get to try everything that's on the menu in time. If it's you're first time coming here the Vietnamese egg rolls are the bomb! Always a must have when coming here. We loveeeee the combination rice plate as well! My parents live in Broomfield, and I live in DT Denver. I always stop by here on my way to visit my family, and order as much food as I can so that my mom doesn't have to slave away for dinner. My favorite dishes are: 100. Goi Dac Biet 76. Fresh spring rolls 107. Lou Do Bien 92. Saigon Basil Appetizer Dish (Roll your own spring rolls!) 69-74. I have eaten at this establishment over a hundred times with good service and great food. They just hired a new lady whom answers the phone and takes orders. I went in on Memorial Day after getting off work to pick up a 50 dollar order to take home to my family, including my 3 little children, who loves their noodle bowls. They were extremely busy and after they asked me what I ordered, 10 minutes later they sat a bag down in front of me. The lady whom answers for to-go orders comes by and asks for my card, I pay, pick up the bag placed right in front of me, say thank you 'to her', and leave. Now I live 30 minutes away from there, and as I pull into my driveway I receive a call from her stating that "I TAKE someone order without waiting for her, when she told me WAIT, and goes on and on and on". I told her that I have a family and kids and it is not possible to come all the way back. What I did get was half of what I ordered. I called back the next day to speak with a manager and she would not let me speak with anyone else. She stated she was the manager, and continued to elaborate on her story "I have camera, I was planning on delivering, and on and on and on". Which just helped confirm to me her character, or lack thereof, as everything she said is false. I work right down the road from there as a manager for a fortune 500 company w/ dozens of employees that work for me. I will encourage them to not eat at this establishment, nor will they see my card used there any time in the near future. This new woman unfortunately does not understand customer service. They are going to lose tens of thousands in profits from dozens of people as we eat here every week, instead of learning what good customer service is. It's disappointing that the manager Trung will not respond to repeated messages that I have left him. I'm sure this lady w/ her phenomenal customer service skills will be fired within a month or two, but I plan on not returning here for 2-3 years. There are lots of choices in this town! read more

I wish Saigon Basil was not so far from me. I ordered #92 Saigon Basil Appetizer Dish for me and the bf. This is a great deal because it's $24.95 and has a ton of food. It comes with grilled pork, grilled chicken, fried shrimp paste, fried soft shell crab, egg rolls, rice noodles, veggies and rice paper rolls so you can roll your own spring rolls. Or you can order rice if you prefer and then it's like an extra big rice plate. I could've sworn back in the day at Saigon Bowl there was grilled shrimp and beef but idk for sure. This appetizer will feed 2-3 people as a full meal and maybe have leftovers (if two people imo). Definitely worth it to try. Other people at my table orders shrimp fried rice, catfish, sesame shrimp, and other seafood dishes since we came on on Ash Wednesday and I guess they couldn't eat meat then. (I'm not involved in that.) I've heard the sesame anything here is good so I'll have to try one day. I live in Lakewood so I'd only come back if I'm in the area, otherwise I'd just go to Saigon bowl which is way closer even tho the owners are different.
