Hot Pot Spot probably has one of the best hot pot beef in Denver. A ribeye that looks like ribeye, a short rib that looks like short rib marbling. I do wish there are more meat options like pork tenderloin, pork shoulder, beef tongue... I love that all the broths we've tried are light as that's what sauces are for with hot pots! The service has consistently been great, they add in new items all the time, most recently a wasabi cheese fish ball and the fortune bag fish cake with fish roe. They've added winter melon and pho beef last few times I went... I wish they have daikon, frozen tofu and enoki mushrooms though, those are the only items I miss when coming here, but frankly, the quality of the meat slices beat out a lot of other hot pot places for me. The service are always top notch, friendly and fast. The dining room and the restrooms are always clean. Besides missing some variety compared to other hot pot places, this place is definitely one of the best place for hot pot north of Denver. read more

There has been quite the increase of hot pot spots (no pun intended) in recent years and I've been to most of them. I'm glad I checked this place out recently after a strenuous day full of driving and hiking. Hot pot sounded like just the thing to hit the spot. Upon entering, my first impression was that the restaurant felt and looked very clean. Huge plus for that. There were also a good variety of tables ranging from 2 seaters to large party tables. The selection of veggies, meats, etc were standard and similar to other hot pot places. The broth selection was good and I was satisfied with the one I chose (the Thai one). One thing I was not the biggest fan of is that the workers were very aggressively cleaning around us including sweeping dust and trash while we were eating with 45 minutes still left until close. I understand cleaning up for the day but there was definitely dust that got swept into our food. I don't think they did it intentionally but that is something to be considered going forward. read more

No reservations, but we were seated immediately around 6pm on a Friday evening. Service, 2.5/5 The service was passable, but not particularly welcoming or attentive. After being seated, we grabbed items from the self-serve station, and when we returned, our soup pots were placed on the stoves, but the burners hadn't been turned on. It took a moment to realize this, and we ended up turning it on ourselves and had to wait quite a while before we could actually start cooking. Staff didn't check on us often, and while meat orders were eventually fulfilled, items like the beef short ribs took longer than expected. We tried to time our orders, but ended up waiting idly between servings. Meats The variety isn't huge, but there's enough to satisfy most diners. The standout for us was the beef short rib - tender and flavorful. Self-serve/sauce stations There's a solid spread of vegetables, beef meatballs, ramen, seafood, and a standard but well-stocked sauce bar. Nothing out of the ordinary, but everything was fresh and well presented. The cold station was a little awkward to navigate as it was more of a vertical/beverage fridge setup, so only one person can really comfortably grab items at a time - it would've been nicer as buffet-style. Soup bases Many - over 10 broth - options, which is more than most places. We tried the Chinese Herbal, Spicy, and Tonkatsu. Chinese herbal: Excellent and authentic (approved by a Taiwanese native). Spicy: A miss. Overloaded with chewy, flavorless chunks of Szechuan peppercorns. Tonkatsu: Overly salty and a bit unbalanced. Ambience/layout, 2/5 The setup feels cramped and lacks privacy. The dividers between tables are low, so you can see and hear everything going on next to you. The 4-person table design also makes it awkward for those seated inside to get out - especially if the neighboring table is full. On the plus side, the space is well ventilated - you don't walk out smelling like hot pot, which is rare. Overall 3/5 A decent broth variety and ingredients, but service and layout could use significant improvement. The other hot spot place nearby is very busy and the lines are kinda crazy so this will be a nice alternative. I like that there is an open bar for veggies. Sometimes they never give us enough or too much so it's nice to be able to pick our own quantity (sometimes, we only want one pumpkin). I will say the meat quality is better than a lot of places. They're cut very thin. The ribeye cut was probably our favorite of the meat orders. Soup choices were good but they were lighter in flavor. It was very faint. I would like a stronger broth. Love to see more Asian spots up north. Starting to see sushi places, miscellaneous Asian restaurants and now hot pot! Service is great and selection is wonderful for hot pot ingredients. Where they fall short is providing customers with traditional Chinese BBQ that is found just about anywhere but here. Then again if you pick the right soup base you really don't need any sauce to dip. I chose the spicy broth which elevated much of the items I tossed in there. They even offer udon or even ramen to toss in your individual hot pots. Kids may even find it fascinating to watch water boil. haha. The restaurant can get loud so beware for any noise sensitive people and when you're done with your meal hop next door to boba. That'd be a perfect combination right there! My big suggestion would be to offer some kind of reservation system since many people that were waiting around us were gravitating towards the door and nearly leaving when we were hanging out for 5-10 minutes. After countless years of wanting to try a place like this, today is the first time I've ever eaten hot pot and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! The area is fairly new and very conveniently located off of I-25 in Thornton; parking is pretty ample and is shared by a small strip of businesses, though I would keep parking in mind if you're planning a Friday night date or some other busy tjme. We went in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and had no trouble. We were seated right away and had the menu and ordering process explained to us, which was helpful. There are nine different broths to choose from, and for an extra few bucks you can make any of them spicy (I would assume except for the already spicy broth lol). I got spicy and my boyfriend ended up with tonkotsu. And, since it was a Sunday, they were working off the dinner menu all day, so we were able to choose from any of the meats for our meal when normally the brisket, short rib, and sirloin are only available during dinner Monday through Friday. We chose the fatty beef, brisket, and the short rib this time and then loaded up on various veggies and accoutrements to round out our meal. The experience was amazing! The tables are obviously equipped with hot plates, but I was so impressed by how quickly those things boiled the broth and doubly impressed by the speed everything cooked. All the ingredients were super fresh and the selection of vegetables, seafoods, and sauces was immense, so there are undoubtedly options for any preferences. For two people, the dinner price came out to about $70; I think that getting multiple rounds of meats/sides and actually taking advantage of the all you can eat makes the process very reasonable. Since it was just the two of us and we only had an extra trip each for a few more vegetables, the price was a bit on the high side but still worth it for the experience. I will 100% be back here to try all the different menu items and am pretty sure I found my new hyper fixation food lol. read more

We had such a terrible experience tonight. From the moment we sat down, our server had an awful attitude and made us feel completely unwelcome. He was rude, dismissive, and acted like serving us was a burden the entire time. We tried to stay polite and enjoy our meal, but the service only kept getting worse. To make matters even more unacceptable, the server was rudely demanding that we leave immediately at 9:35pm. The level of disrespect was shocking and completely unprofessional. The place is really nice and clean and they had a great selection of different broth flavors to choose from as well as cuts of meat. With a wide variety of fresh vegetables and herbs, noodles, proteins, spices, ... I had a mountain of stuff to boil into my broth. The only problem was we didn't know where to start or how to even eat it. But looking around and asking our kind server, it was rather simple. Boil and eat whatever you like. For people who have never been you boil your meat and veggie in the broth. The sauces options were great. It you have never been here is a pretty basic hot pot sauce. (Sesame paste, garlic, chili oil, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cilantro, and sesame oil). I did take off one star because they are missing some staple Hot Pot noodles and veggies. (enoki mushrooms, and tofu noodles). Also, at most other hot pot places they will give you long tongs or chopsticks to avoid raw meat contamination. Mmmmm this one was freaking delicious too!!! Set up the same way as the one in auroa. You also have like 9 broths to choose from. I chose the spicy one and let me tell you if you can't handle spicy then don't choose this one cause it's spicy as hell! But I freaking loved it! Next you chose 3 meats and we choose brisket, rib eye and pork belly all were amazing. We did try the lamb which I didn't care for it was kind of tough and just gamey! Then next we made our sauces and chose whatever sides we wanted to cook w our meats and they also had a plethora of sea foods and so many noodles and veggies. There was so much to choose from. Our server was super friendly but the male servers were not so much they were very cocky and just not help full at all. The bathrooms were quite disgusting and had no toilet paper or paper towels to wash your hands. They could have done better on that aspect. Also they didn't have a wide variety for drinks and they also didn't offer any alcohol drinks which was kind of disappointing. The building was quite small so if you had to wait in line you didn't know where to wait tbh and if you was waiting you was impeding on someone's table which was awkward and felt quite rude. The big ups: -comprehensive sauce bar WITH FRIED GARLIC -great layout for the self serve stuff -pork stuffed fished balls Stuff some friends I went with noticed was that some of the meats were sliced thicker than they were used it. It's all you can eat - so price is based on person and if it is lunch or dinner. First timer! Stopped in today, Sunday at 12pm with my family (party of 9). The wait was about 5min, and they had just opened at 11am so it was not bad at all. You basically sit down, are given a menu and decide on what kind of broth and meat you want. I choose the spicy broth with pork belly and it was 10/10. You then can go get a plate and serve yourself from veggies to noodles, seafood, dumplings and tons of sauces. Food was great! The placement of the plates to grab your sides is not the best and causes congestion. People are waiting to get a plate while waiting to get noodles and others are forming a line in different directions so it was not well organized and it did not flow well at all so it caused some confusion. The sauce station was very messy, sauce splashed everywhere and some sauces were missing their name/labels. If you want any drinks, you have to get them at the little refrigerated area (which we did not know and was not mentioned to us by our server) When our hot pots were brought to our table we weren't sure how to turn the pots on and had no direction from our server. The restaurant was clean, the refrigerated area with veggies, ramen and seafood was well organized but some bins did not have any tongs. If its your first time, I suggest you notify your server that immediately so they walk you through the entire process. read more

Hot pot I'm so glad there's a clean, quality hot pot restaurant in northern colorado now. This place just opened up a few days ago and one of my Asian foodie friends told posted about it in a group chat. To say I was excited was an understatement. It's right off I-25 and 136th and it's neighbour is a kung fu tea. Talk about perfect placement. If this had a mochinut next to it, it would be perfect. It was extremely clean, there are plenty of tables and if you've ever been to hotpot before, you'd recognize the in table burners. The special thing about this one is they're flameless and built into the table meaning little ones can't burn themselves. A huge plus as I took my 10mo with me. The way it works is that everyone at the table gets their own burner. It's all you can eat self service style. You choose the base and order the meat from the waiter but you grab your own veggies, tofu, seafood, sauces and rice/noodles. The soup base selection isn't as good as some places but I had just the beef broth. Next time I would like to try the tonkatsu broth. The meat selection and quantity is good. The veggies are good but could be better. I would have liked to see more potato such as sweet potato and maybe some carrot. Fried tofu skin would have been nice too but they had the non fried one too. The seafood had plenty to choose from. Prawns, crawfish, octopus, calamari, fish, clams. The sauces were good too but some gochujang and sammjang sauce would have made it better. The staff kept everything absolutely spotless there wasn't a dirty spot anywhere near the food. They were all super attentive and very considerate of my son and I. The bathrooms were also BEAUTIFUL and had a changing table!! Lastly price. It's priced a set price per person depending on lunch or dinner and for me it was maybe 33$ but tax and tip brought it to 42$. While this may seem pricey, I think it's on par with other all you can eat places and as long as you stuff yourself with the all you can eat meat, it's worth it. Food is always great, the broth can be a little bland but after all the toppings and whatnot it ends up being just fine. I went in with my family tonight and was very irritated with our service. Usually I wouldn't consider myself a 'Karen' but after attempting to wave down our waiter for the 6th time and waiting over 20 minutes for a broth refill I was a bit frustrated. He was tall & had dark hair and seemed more interested in flirting with the hostess and looking cool than actually attending to any of the tables. For $170 for 4 people, it'd hope for better service than that. Bummer since I actually really like the food and options but after this experience, I rather go to K Pot on 120th. read more

One of the only hot pot places in the area and we're okay with that because this place is great. Come in, take a seat, order your broth and then get up and get your ingredients. The broth is yummy and the ingredients are fresh. For some who don't realize, frozen produce is pretty much the same as fresh. When frozen immediately after being picked you preserve the freshness and it's just the same, the same thing goes for some of the ingredients here. Finally something new in Thornton. It's a very good place. Hate to say but I had to use the ladies room and I was mesmerize by the accent wall. Love it. Wish I knew where they got it. (squirrel) But the food was pretty good. Like the selection. Only turn off was that the utensils that are used for picking what you want. Some people just place it on top of the food, instead of standing it up so that the next person can grab it. Maybe Hot Pot should have separate bins where the utensils aren't just laying on top of the food. Or each person have their own to pick out their food. There was a 15min wait for a table of 2 and we were notified that out table was ready by texting us The service staff were really great here. They let us know how the hotpot works. Essentially you pick a broth, order meats, and then select a variety of vegetables and additional seafood, noodles, etc self serve. The atmosphere is very nice, modern, and clean. I ordered the ramen broth and high recommend mixing it with green onions and fried onions and garlic. Dinner was about ~$33 per person and I'd highly recommend coming here. read more

I absolutely loved it here. We were in the area and decided to stop in. When we arrived we were immediately sat. The waitress asked if it was our first time, and since it was, she went on to explain how it worked. We chose the tonkatsu and the spicy one, both were super delicious. They have a huge variety of fresh veggies and noddles. They had a variety of seafood (seriously my favorite part) and a lot of ingredients to make your own sause. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but towards the middle of our meal, we noticed it got super busy. The place is decent size. The team that was there was amazing, very attentive.
