Kung Pao Chicken
Christina S.

If there's one thing you can't beat here it's the value! We got a portion of Kung Pao Chicken, 4 Egg Rolls, and an order of Hot and Sour soup for under $7. That to me is just insane! The amount of chicken in the order seemed ok (especially for the price) and they used lots of veggies so for a single serving not bad at all. The got and sour soup was good, and I would say on par with any other soup I have had. The egg rolls were nothing to write home about but we all know you just get an egg roll to have a nice little deep fried crunch anyways. This was my first time trying one of those "dollar scoop" places and it wasn't bad. We did order takeout so didn't know this before ordering but would come back to explore the whole experience for this kind of establishment.

was going here for a few years until one of the women working gave my mom mad attitude so we stopped going, I was craving their beef and veggies so I decided to back only to later find some kind of screw in my food. would not recommend this place, passive aggressive people and an unsanitary work place.

Spaghetti Lo Mein

The Lo Mein is literally spaghetti... the cheese wontons slap tho and the fried rice wasn't horrible either. Also pls don't even bother getting the orange chicken

Why did I eat here. I should have suspected something when there was only 1 picture in the window of this Chinese restaurant. The food tasted like paper machet, cotton ball while my mouth was numb from novacaine at the same dann time. The chicken had some goo on it that if I waited for it to cool down it would have the same consistency as tar with bbq sauce. The broccoli was nothing but a salt lick. My lips was so greesy I could've changed the oil in my car. HORRIBLE FOOD. that's what I get for Fallon for the $4.50 sign. PS it's FILTHY INSIDE.

Does not disappoint. Can't expect much when their food is so affordable. I add more favor at home, not a problem for the price at all

This is my family & I 2nd time here in Denver and after finding this place the 1st visit we make it a point to come to this location. We're located in Georgia so I think we have a good sense of good Chinese. I always get the Mongolian beef with fried rice (no egg; I'm allergic) My husband always gets the General Tso chicken with the fried rice and he ALWAYS orders this and never has a complaint. My son gets the Sesames chicken also with fried rice and it's sweet and crunchy as they fry the chicken to mix in their sauce and it's worth every penny. Every time! Service sometimes can be short in communication but expected especially when they're working all day and don't have time to eat but their food never misses! It's never crowded or busy when we come no matter the time of day, never noisy always sit at a booth. I highly recommend this place I will always come here when visiting Denv

I am so glad that they are so consistent and have not changed recipes or adjusted seasonings. Ordered our two favorites - pickled pepper beef and mapo tofu. Then the string beans and a new dish - sauerkraut fish filet. The sauerkraut fish filet reminded me of the Vietnamese catfish soup but no sweetness added. Very good dish and will def order again. Also love that they have quality rice here.

Decided to come here because I was craving Chinese food and heard good things about this place…read more Figured I'd give it a try. We ordered the fried tofu (with peppers and onions), orange chicken, fried fish fillet, and veggie delight (mixed veggies). The fried fish fillet was definitely the standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a light, tangy layer of sauce that added flavor without making it soggy. Easily my favorite dish of the meal. The fried tofu was also really solid and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The peppers and onions complemented it well without overpowering the tofu itself. The orange chicken was okay. I tend to compare orange chicken to Panda Express (probably unfair, but it's my benchmark), and this one didn't quite hit that same balance of crispiness and sauce. I think if it had a bit more meat within each piece, would be better. The mixed vegetables were decent but not something I'd order again. They felt a bit drenched in sauce and didn't have much depth in flavor. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting an elderly woman who helps out when it gets busy. She mentioned she was the former owner. She was incredibly kind, and we ended up having a really nice conversation in Mandarin. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Otherwise, really nice venue with lots of space and tables. Waiters always refilled my water, which is a good plus. Also gave me fresh rice when I took the leftovers to go. Overall, a solid meal with a couple standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the fried fish fillet and tofu. Will be back to try their other dishes.

Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood. It was getting crowded and there was a wait by the time we left. However it was Denver restaurant week, so not sure how it usually is during the week.

While visiting Denver, my coworkers and I went to ChoLon downtown. It was restaurant week in Denver…read moreso the menu was limited but we still found a lot of items to try out. The chicken soup dumplings, pork potstickers, and the ice cream was all very good! I wasn't such a huge fan of the tufu pork belly noodles. I'm not really a fan of tofu but I didn't really like the noodle dish in general. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and well designed. The wait staff was also very friendly. I would like to come back here and try more items from their regular menu.

Lately it feels like a lot of restaurants are charging more while giving less, and it's getting harder to find places that actually care about the customer experience. Unfortunately, this was another one of those experiences. We ordered three side dishes and three drinks, and the bill came out to around $100. Two of the three sides were served cold, the dumplings at least came out hot, but they were pretty mediocre and nothing I'd order again and drinks were extremely over priced. The waitress was fine, no real issues there, but it did feel like the food may have been sitting in the kitchen too long before it hit the table even though the place was empty. At the end of the day, it's hard to justify paying that kind of money for cold, underwhelming food, then feeling awkward about the tip because the experience just wasn't good. I won't be back. If I had known this is what the experience was I would have definitely gone somewhere else. As an added bonus I felt like crap afterwords, I think it was because of poor quality ingredients. My aim in writing these reviews is to highlight the restaurants and businesses that truly take care of their customers, to give people a heads up about the ones that clearly do not prioritize quality or the customer experience, and to express myself in a world where it often feels like there is very little room to speak honestly about paying top dollar for mediocre experiences. Very disappointing.
