In the past 5 month period I have been looking for the cheapest, least chain affiliated oriental restaurants in the area and Golden Scoop is easily the best. Not only are the prices low (2.50-3.50) a scoop but the food has actual flavor is low on grease and with generous portions. The BBQ pork is my personal favorite and the pineapple and jalapeño chicken are stand outs for sure. I got the chance to check out the Golden Scoop yesterday, as I was curious to see how it compared to the few other "(Insert Dollar/Cent Amount Here) And Up Scoop Shops" I've visited in the area. Definitely no complaints, as this one's closest to the house. I arrived right at 10:30 am when they were just opening, which was awesome, as everything was really fresh. I went with a broccoli beef/fried rice/egg roll combo, and was pretty blown away that the grand total on the bill was only just over $5 with a canned drink and tax. Friendly employees, and a pretty typical take out atmosphere with lots of seats. There appeared to be a boba drink menu along with Chinese donuts, so those are going to be on the try list next trip for sure. Definitely recommend. read more

Alright it is what it is. This is a cheap "dollar scoop" Chinese place. The prices here are a little high for dollar scoop, but that is OK. Because the quality here is pretty good. The food is actually pretty fresh. Esp if you go in at a normal eating time. I go here we I am craving Chinese which usually has to do with how poor I am at that moment. LOL. But I have never been let down by this place. I really do like the Egg Foo Yong. Never thought I would like that, but I like theirs a lot. So if you want good dollar scoop, check this place out. The food is good and fresh, the portions are generous and the atmosphere is clean and bright. "Dollar Scoop" places are a dime a dozen, but Golden Scoop definitely is number one in my books.
