A disappointment. First the good: a very attractive space, a menu that sounds great (to me), some excellent cocktails, and very good-looking food. Less good: the execution. One week when I ordered a dish it was oversalted. The next week the same dish was very bland. It was only when I was halfway through that I realized it was bland because they forgot the sauce. The hamburger buns are beautiful looking with their "embossed" logo, but dry and bland, worse than you get at cheaper places. A pasta dish was tasty, but greasy. In general, I felt the food fell short of its aspirations. The servers look very professional, but were not particularly attentive or knowledgeable, and the seaters make guests wait to be seated for no apparent reason (i.e. for an early evening reservation when the entire restaurant is nearly empty). Perhaps the execution will be ironed out. If it is, this is a restaurant I'd be happy to return to. But as it is I don't think I'll be back soon. read more

Great food, cocktails and service in a lovely setting. The back patio is shady and the biscuits are amazing.

What a disaster. I have tried this place twice and both times it did not go well. The first was soon after opening so I will cut you some slack. Tonight, it was a total disaster. Our cocktails did not arrive until the entrees. This took 30 minutes. Our starter, biscuits, never arrived. My wife and daughter ordered the burger well done and both showed up medium (lots of pink). I ordered the chicken thighs but received a chicken breast. The bill came with the biscuits still added on. The server told us she would "go ahead and take it off". No apologies for the multiple mistakes. I hope things improve but I will not be back. read more

Just went for a wonderful dinner! My wife had the short ribs and I had the homemade pasta, both were excellent. Our waiter was great too. We had a perfect evening! read more

Delicious and such a good experience! The staff was super accommodating and very friendly. We had a such delicious meal overall. Everything was great. The patio was closed, will have to come back when the weather clears and it opens up, looks super nice! Large bar and a lot of selections. The restaurant set up itself was great! We sat near the bar further away from the main room with bigger dining tables, and it was perfect. I highly recommended checking out this spot! read more

Hostess was very sweet when she sat me at the bar. The Bartender, Paul, was very attentive and knowledgeable. It was nice to hear about the commitment to quality across the menu. My salad was delicious, this was a great first impression and I look forward to coming back. read more

Burrata was great, espresso martini was okay, and the chicken thigh dish was really good. My biggest complaint was the service from our main server, she seemed very put out by us. As we were leaving she didn't even want to look at us. I'm not sure I'll go back. read more

The food was amazing, such good quality, service was perfect! We can't wait to go back and try something else on their menu, menu has quite a variety to choose from! read more

The interior was clean and relatively comfortable. The service was friendly, if a little unfocused. We both ordered the chicken thigh sandwich. The chicken itself was good but I would say the whole is less than the sum of its parts. It needs less mushy condiments and more spice - we only tasted salt. The fries were ok. The steak bruschetta was ok. I do not think we'll return. read more

Food was delicious had the Duck Fat fries, they did not disappoint. Also had the Grilled shrimp skewers which were plump, juicy and had a nice Cajun kick. Then split the Niman Ranch burger with my wife. Jucy and delicious, a lot of napkins needed!! The ambiance was laid back and chill, very nice. Service. . .service was great! Got here a little before Happy Hour. Ordered. Top shelf bourbon, reasonably priced and then got to talking with the bartender and got a very informative lesson on Tequila. Highly recommend this place. They also have outdoor seating. read more

We stopped by Sage Leaf for a quick dinner on a Saturday Night. Great service (thanks, Zoe!), quick kitchen and really good food. We got the pork chop and chicken thigh bowl - both were really good, though the pork chop was the winner! Recommend for a dinner - excited to come back and try brunch. read more

I was excited to see Sage Leaf opened a Reno location, as I've dined at their Incline Village spot a few times and have always enjoyed it. We've been here twice now, once for dinner and another time for brunch. The dinner meal was good, although service was slow. Our breakfast experience had better service but the food was sadly disappointing. My first visit to Incline had been for brunch after which I craved getting their biscuits and gravy again - we arrived here right at opening for the biscuits/gravy which fell so short; the biscuits were dry and stale (I suspect leftover from the prior day) and the gravy was barely warm. I also feel asparagus is such an odd side for this dish and wish they'd offer something more traditional, such as potatoes. I'm willing to try brunch again in the off chance that our visit was a fluke, but for the cost I expect consistency. read more

The only thing I liked about this place was the outdoor seating. The food was not that good, we ordered the eggs benedict and french toast- both were very dry. The French toast was like a tough baguette and the blueberry and syrup was not enough to get it even a little bit moist. The servers and hostess were very snooty and overall the place felt very unwelcoming. This was my first time going and I was so excited to try out a new brunch spot- but was super disappointed in the end. Will not be coming back. read more

Good food and friendly service. Had a great time chatting with staff. Casual atmosphere and a nice bar. Definitely on the dinner rotation.

Appetizers came to the table after the meal so we requested to cancel. Manager refused and was very rude about it. She could have been nicer & had better customer service. Not sure how she's even the manager. The rest of the staff is very friendly and food was good. Will not be returning here because of the manager. read more

First off, this is a beautiful place. I really wanted it to be great. On my first visit I had the duck fries. Creamy on the inside, however not crisp at all. And I had the shrimp wrapped around sausage. The shrimp was over cooked. I tried again. My dining partner had the corned beef hash. The corned beef was more fat than beef. I might have been happy. I had the burger. Delicious. But I like a little more fat in my burger. Service was great. Management was happy to replace the corned beef. But I won't go back. read more

The service was really terrible. We had to remind them to bring us our drinks after our appetizer came out. The food was pretty tasty, but there was an eggshell in my dish. For the price, I don't believe I am going to be trying it again. read more

When I found out Sage Leaf was opening a location in Reno I was ecstatic! Now I don't need to make the trip up to Incline for their amazing food! Their ingredients are always fresh and their food combinations are to die for. The service was amazing - Veronica was very attentive and gave great suggestions. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. We tried the candied bacon, salmon benedict, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and chicken thigh bowl and everything was delightful! Will definitely be back to try dinner. read more

I hardly ever submit reviews but this Pastrami Sandwich was truly amazing. Best Pastrami that I've ever had and I've been to New York City and Katz Deli! Plus they put it on bakery fresh bread. I will make this a regular stop when in Reno. My son had the chicken thigh sandwich and duck fat fried French fries. Both extremely gold! Decor is fresh and modern. Service was excellent or better. Went to the newly opened Sage Leaf in Midtown on Tahoe street. Gorgeous day to be outside. We sat on the patio. There's about 5-6 tables that fit 4 people on the patio. The bar had about 10 seats (maybe more). There were about 4 indoor bar area tables. They have Brunch, Dinner, dessert and cocktail menus. Sundays are 50% off wine bottles at dinner service. Happy hour from 3-5 featuring what seems to be a changing menu. Happy hour menu has 5$ off cocktails, 2$ Jameson shots, house fries with 3 sauces and a 12$ . The staff was really friendly and helpful. The interior of the space was beautiful. The bar is extensive on liquor and the wine list at least 3-5 pages with lovely descriptions of the wines. I'd recommend the Incline I.V. if you're looking for a tropical similar to a painkiller but with more ‍. J had the Arnold Palmer and he said it's one of the best ones he's had a nice balance of the sweet and the tea. They make a lot of their foods and drinks in house including their aioli and the incline I.V. The duck fat fries are a must get, they have a wonderful old bay seasoning and come with a truffle aioli. J got the shrimp and andouille skewers and the shrimp were a nice size. I had the VEGAN chocolate chip cookie and the Vegan vanilla gelato (has vanilla bean specks in it!). Honestly I couldn't tell the gelato was vegan other than a slight coconut taste at the end. It was so creamy and velvety that I honestly thought it was normal gelato. I had to most wonderful time here! U can wait to go back and have a bottle of wine on the patio with friends read more

This place is really cute inside and the menu looked so good that I had a hard time choosing. I ended up getting brunch because that is why I went in the first place. My friend and I started with the bees knees cocktails and they were delicious. They had a lavender twist to a traditional one, but so yummy! For $15, my only complaint was I kind of wanted them to be a little bigger especially since they were so smooth going down. I got the battle born scramble for brunch which came out kind of omelet style so that was confusing, but I did let them know to maybe at least chop up the onions on the inside. Not complaining though because it was really good. The biscuits were also a winner. They were super fresh and you could taste the cheese and sage. My friend got the lamb burger and upgraded the fries for the duck fat ones. Those were yummy too. I'm really excited to go back and try more things and sit on the patio which had pretty flowers blooming. Today was too cold out for that. Prices were a little more than I like, but it was worth the splurge and that's life now a days. The staff was really nice and helpful too. read more

My husband and I visited this place for the first time yesterday. We were informed they are a newer restaurant and have only been open 5/6 months. Our waiter by the name of Mark was fantastic. Very friendly professional and tentative. He also was very knowledgeable with their menu. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. As far as the food goes, I ordered their shrimp skewers. Not very big at all, but it came out very over cooked and way too much seasoning that it also ruined the food. It was $14, so not at all worth the money. In fact I sent it back, I didn't want to pay that much for something that was hardly edible. So I then tried there salmon tartar, .as well as some of there breaded green beans. The green beans were ok, and the tartar was decent. My husband got the hamburger and he said it was good but noticed his bread was soggy once picking it up (it's large) and instead of lettuce they piled a lot of arugula on top of the burger. Which also made for more mushiness. With the burger the green beans and shrimp skewer, with a glass of wine and a beer, our bill came to over $74. We were not at all happy with the price after receiving what we did. This is a new place, so they are just starting off. Maybe they will do better as they grow. We will not be returning read more

Husband and I went to dinner here last night and it was wonderful! We had the short ribs which were 10/10, mushroom soup and tuna tar tar. I would reorder everything again! It also came out very fast and the drinks were refreshing I had the pineapple vodka one and my husband had the espresso martini. We sat outside and it was just a lovely experience with a romantic ambiance. Its hard finding good quality food in Reno read more

Excellent food, menu options and service. A rare winner among Reno's dismal array of restaurants.

Eh. Not a value add for our area. I miss Laughing Planet. Sage Leaf is trying to hard and trying to make it seem super nice with their prices. The walls by the bus station aren't painted well and it doesn't look good. The staff and food is fine. But not for these prices. Reno isn't the bay. Or Tahoe. read more

Ambiance was great and servers were helpful and quick! Food on the other hand was beyond disappointing. Cheddar biscuits were dry and essentially flavorless, pastrami sandwich came out with fries that were cold before they hit the table, conchiglie tasted store bought. Don't know if I have the heart to try again with the prices. read more

Love the remodel. Food was actually pretty tasty. However for the prices we paid (total bill was around $50 for 2 scrambles, one with only mushroms, and the other with some meat, and a cup of coffee) we were very surprised to see how tiny the portions were. The menu called them "4 egg" scrambles, though when we scramble 3 eggs at home, it's significantly larger, must be some tiny eggs... There wasn't much inside the mushroom one, and very little meat in the other one. Not much there to actually satiate someone, just relatively empty (tasty) eggs. For the price, the serving size was unacceptable. At least serve it with some hash browns or something. We were pretty bummed that we had to go from there and get some tacos because we were both still hungry after our breakfast, and we are not actually very big eaters. Wouldn't mind paying their expensive prices for a meal that actually filled us up, but til the get realistic with their portions, I'm not sure we can justify going back. read more
