The food here is impeccable! I had the steak fries and the red pepper with Gouda soup. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Fries were hot and crispy. The soup... to DIE for! The prices are very very reasonable. Very clean and very organized/fully stocked items. The cooks and cashiers were super friendly and helpful! I give this place 5 stars and a 10/10 highly recommend! The absolute best Thanksgiving dinner I could have wished for!! Huge portions; 1/2 inch thick real ham slices (not processed), same with turkey (processed but good). Creamed green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy,, Mac cheese (to die for), stuffing, cranberry sauces,,,, all fresh homemade!!!!!, and of course, for dessert; fountain drinks, etc, and 3 kinds of pie. But all that pales when compared to the happy, joyous attitude of the always friendly servers who took special pride in preparing this feast. The cost??? You wouldn't believe it if I told you. I come once a week near closing time, and enjoy their regular menu to the max, but this was over the top!! Easily the best, tastiest large portions and lowest prices in all of Carson City. Such a great hidden gem in Carson City! We discovered this place from my wife's coworker and we weren't sure at first since you always hear jokes about hospital food, but this place is no joke! This cafe is in the hospital. If you're gluten free you cannot eat here. I have asked every day for a week. Obviously the salad bar is off limits: the cross contamination is epic. Now this is part of the hospital so the ambiance is such. It is very, very clean and well stocked. The food is excellent and nicely varied. We had the BLT with fries and crispy shrimp tacos. Both were excellent. The bacon was cripsy and both the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Fries were hot and crispy. The tacos were fresh with very big shrimp lightly breaded. A totally hidden treasure! Who says hospital food has to be bad? This place rocks not only for the quality of the food but also the price! We have now been here maybe 5 times and have not been disappointed yet. The cooks there know what they are doing and are quick. My fave is their French Dip. All entrees has an option of adding fries for less than $2 just let them know! After you get your food, you take it to the cashier, like a cafeteria, to pay. The eating area is big and always clean. When you arrive to the hospital, you don't have to check in with the front personal, just go to the left of their counter and there is a clip board where you can write your name and indicate the Sage Cafe is where you are going. The food at the Sage Café, even though it's at the hospital is amazing. The chef's and service people are friendly and they do a good job at meeting your needs. It's one of the best priced places to eat here in Carson City, offering a wide range of different choices for a meal. I used to have a friend that would go on a date with his wife once a month, driving down from Sparks Nevada to enjoy a meal. It's a great place to eat. read more

On the way home from a road trip we stopped at a nearby hotel and this was the highest rated and closest to the hotel for food. We weren't quite sure about going to a hospital for dinner but why not?!?! We were greeted at the front door by the hospital receptionist. She was so kind and helpful as you have to check in first before going to the cafe. I ordered the BLT w/ avocado added with a side of fries. My hubby ordered the French dip sandwich with a side of fries. The French dip came with a side of aujus that was basically flavorless which was disappointing. The food was hot and prepared pretty quickly. We got two drinks and were out under $25.00. The young man that checked us out was very friendly and engaging. The dining room had amazing natural light and was clean. They had a full array of condiments for your food as well. That area was clean and organized very nicely. Let's talk about the Sage Cafe in the Carson Reno Regional Medical Center. WOW!!! Restaurant quality food, FOR REAL! The prices were amazing. Best French fries I've EVER eaten, too. We all agreed when in the area, the Sage Cage is the place to go to eat!! I had Eggs Benedict, and the presentation was amazing, and they were delicious!!! Wonderful staff, lots of choices, and it was nice to not pay a gazillion dollars for GREAT food. What a wonderful idea to have a place to get some good food, even comfort food, not rob the bank, and be able to be there for someone in the hospital. The menu here will surprise you with some diversity! Screams vegan but I'm not that guy and I still had choices! The breakfast choices are wide ranging and the sandwich choices cover the rest! Think healthy, fresh from the garden food and you've got it covered! Service is spot on quick and correct each time! Ask the waiter and they'll tell you the truth about a dish and will also make recommendations! The location is very clean and service is both inside and out! Food; Portions are huge, Freshly prepared, the very friendly cooks are more than happy to cook to order. Inexpensive, spacious dining area, great menu and specials each day, salad bar is nice, soups as well. I generally only eat there after 6 PM, by which time they are shutting down the salad bar and soups; sometimes the fish dishes are gone by that time. That is my only very minor complaint. Friendly atmosphere. Really, it can stand up to any restaurant in Carson City- considering food quality, portions, prices , and atmosphere. Oh, and a few months ago, they started some new flavor-ey, wonderful fries!!!, The only other slight downside is that the ice dispenser, and the ice tea dispenser are somewhat intermittent, but they have a huge selection of bottled/canned drinks.!! read more

I have made quite a few visits to Sage Cafe over the last month for breakfast and lunch. Everything is good - nice quality food, generous portions, and great prices. Though the Sage Cafe is the hospital cafeteria in North Carson, it is open to visitors and the public. Everything except the specials is cooked to order. My favorite breakfast is eggs benedict for under $9. Breakfast burrito is huge and comes with sour cream and salsa. My favorite lunches are the turkey club with onion rings and the fish & chips. Onion rings aren't on the menu but can be ordered as a side to the sandwich menu items. There are weekday specials for lunch as well. I haven't tried the stir-fry or poke stations yet (only staffed weekdays), nor the salad or fruit bars. I am trying to cut back on soda, so I appreciate the free infused water in the dining room. You order at the counter and then bring your food to the cashier station in the adjacent dining room. No tax or tips payable on your meals. I haven't even seen a tip jar. read more

It's great food and a very good price... the chefs behind the counter are great and are always making substitutions to the menu items, and do it with with manners and graciousness. Place is clean, and is a normal everyday cafeteria. Lots of items to chose from to drink and snack on if you aren't looking for a meal. There is always a hustle and bustle to the place of hospital staff, visitors, etc. Staff is amazing! Polite, pleasant, great natured... I know this is a hospital cafe but it was actually very delicious. My son said he would injure himself just to eat here (yes, he's a teenager). We had the French dip, Turkey club, and the BLT. We ordered fries for an extra $1.25. Four total meals including drinks and a side of California roll all for $40.
