I am sharing this review to help other homeowners know what to check after having a new HVAC system…read moreinstalled. NexGen installed my system about one year ago. When the air conditioning stopped working, they told me the circuit board needed replacement. They said the part was under warranty, but I would still pay approximately $500 for the technician. I then spent nearly two months without working AC while waiting for this supposed repair. I finally called Southwest Heating & Air Conditioning for a second opinion. They came out, identified the actual problems, and restored the AC during the same visit--without replacing the circuit board NexGen said I needed. Southwest's written inspection documented several serious concerns with the original installation: * The system had been installed without an air filter. * The filter housing had been taped completely shut. * There were multiple wiring problems, including the system being wired incorrectly. * The plenum was leaking. * The ductwork was not adequately sized for the five-ton system. * A wireless sensor should have been installed on the third floor to help regulate airflow. * Additional repairs are still needed for the system to operate as it should. My advice to other homeowners: Do not assume an expensive part is the problem or wait for months without AC. Get a second opinion and ask the technician to check the filter housing, wiring, plenum, duct sizing, airflow, and sensors--especially after a new installation. I also had a similar pricing experience with NexGen's plumbing department. They quoted approximately $4,600 for work that another licensed company completed for about $860. After an incorrect diagnosis, two months without AC, poor communication, installation concerns, and extremely high pricing, I cannot recommend NexGen. I was also advised to report this matter to the California Contractors State License Board.

I am writing to follow up on my previous request regarding a full refund for the services I paid for, which were not completed as agreed. As stated in my initial communication, I paid a deposit $1,000 for the installation of a bathroom vanity. The original appointment was canceled, and the work has still not been completed. This has caused inconvenience and does not meet the expectations or agreement we had in place. This message serves as a second formal notice requesting a full refund of $1,000. I ask that this refund be processed within 5 business days from the date of this email. If I do not receive a response or resolution within this timeframe, I will proceed with further action, which may include filing formal complaints through applicable consumer protection agencies and pursuing other available remedies. I would prefer to resolve this matter quickly and amicably. Please confirm when I can expect the refund. I paid a deposit to this business for a scheduled service, but ended up canceling the appointment in advance. No work was performed. When I requested a refund of my deposit, the business refused to return it. There was no signed agreement stating the deposit was non-refundable, and no materials or services were provided. I attempted to resolve this directly but was unsuccessful. Based on my experience, I would recommend confirming refund policies in writing before making any payment.

But for the low price of 20K but they could cut us a deal and do it for 17k..he could have us back up and running.. pass,,, We called a friend who actually did some diagnosis and come to find out the evaporator was NOT clogged and the bearings were fine. Plus the air filter was dirty and all it was to blame was a contactor relay in the AC condenser which only cost us $30 plus a from Amazon. plus a new Filter for about $20 and we were up and running. I get business is slow but but to deliberately make a false claim it is shameful.

Tenant reported garage disposal stop working so I immediately requested a fix the for owner. One…read morestop was prompt and since it 'FREE' estimate , I didn't think twice. Tech went as scheduled and told me he did a quick check at the unit and then to the electrical panel. And said now if he needs to go into diagnosis, it will cost $175 , and either he can fix it OR that $175 will be used to swap a new unit at $4xx. Since I'm remote, I can only agree to it to move forward. 10mins later, got a call from the tech saying, "there are good and bad news! Good news, the unit was indeed completely fine and it's working alright. The unit was slightly "UNPLUGGED" from the outlet and it works perfectly after I plugged it back in. Bad news, the $175 is due. " I appreciate that the "diagnosis" save me hundreds instead of replacing a fully working unit, but I would have thought the first free initial check should have looked at the connection in the first place. Definitely feel a bit rip off BUT they did give me a small discount in the end. I'm not expecting free work BUT $150 to get someone out to plug it back in? Is that the norm?
