This is the worst pharmacy! I put my prescription in online 2 day before I came in to pick them up. I was shopping in Safeway today. And noticed there was no line at the pharmacy. They told me that my prescriptions are at their distribution center. The she said they could fill in store. I told them I have shopping to do at the store and I'll come back when I'm done. I came back and waited at the side line (limbo) for 45 minutes!!!!!! Their is hell on earth . Find another pharmacy. read more

****Next time you go to the pharmacy, try practicing some patience & understanding... Pharmacy staff are under such an unrealistic amount of stress! They're doing SO many other things than just "grabbing" your meds... Me & my husband have been using this pharmacy for years! The staff are so helpful & kind! the pharmacists are thorough & knowledgeable (particularly Julie - she is absolutely incredible)!! The technicians are welcoming & also very helpful (HUGE shoutout to Sue - she's always so genuinely sweet). I'm quite confident that the majority of negative reviews are authored by those who've either never worked in a pharmacy or have failed to recognize the damaging effects of COVID-19 on staffing/logistics/etc. The pharmacy staff are juggling an unbelievable amount of varying tasks, while then having to try & de-escalate inconsiderate & impatient customers!! Just wanted to say thank you to the pharmacists. My RX was ready within a few hours after my doctor called it in. My old pharmacy at a different grocery store always took a few days. I got my tooth pulled 8 days ago and received a written prescription for the pain. I took my prescription to Safeway pharmacy to be fulfilled, same day. The woman I spoke with asked me how soon I needed it filled. I said as soon as possible. Today I went in to check on it and spoke with the same woman who fulfilled this order. She informed me they never got it. I even informed her that I physically gave her my paper. She didn't help at all, and didn't even acknowledge that it was her. Whoever is running this place needs to teach their employees some manners. Just went to pick up prescriptions prescribed to me by urgent care. The lady servicing me loudly asks if I am sick. I say yes quietly and then she proceeds to publicly berate me for not wearing a mask. Maybe instead of publicly humiliating me you can offer me a mask? If you aren't locked into a pharmacy and are considering this one, DON'T! It's incredibly understaffed and slow. Can't remember the last time I saw more than one person working the counter. The Safeway App that the pharmacy uses is absolutely useless. It will tell you your prescription is ready and then you find out it isn't. I had last-minute plans to travel to South America and I needed a number of vaccines. The travel clinics here in Bend were all booked out. Safeway has an online service for a doctor to review your itinerary and make recommendations. Once that was complete, the pharmacist Julie reviewed everything with me on the phone and made a next-day appointment for me to receive 6 injections and provided two prescriptions for malaria and traveler's diarrhea. The service is incredible there... don't understand the bad reviews. Despite long lines, the wait is usually short. Alternatively, one can shop for 5-10 min and return to the pharmacy after the line has cleared up. read more

This pharmacy is incredibly understaffed! The employees working there are not very friendly, and the multiple times I've stopped to pick up prescription, sometimes even a day after it's been submitted, they haven't gotten to it yet. I've called ahead and they often don't answer the phone, or tell you it's ready and you get there and it's not. I changed to Safeway Pharmacy for convenience when I'm out of town. The Staff is Always Kind & Helpful, Knowledgable. Especially considering they are understaffed & helping a long line of customers. Their days are long & always standing. My suggestion is Corporate needs to give them a raise & hire more help. Complaints are people having to wait 30-40 minutes. This pharmacy is awful. Yea long lines which I have learned to live with. You can show up and the prescription that was suppose to be ready is not. Ok. I can hang around while they get it ready. But now I have an issue with my medication and you can't get anyone answer the phone at the pharmacy or call You back. Just disrespectful, rude and bad customer service. Plus I need my medication. TERRIBLE customer service here. The staff member named Justice is the biggest jerk I've ever interacted with. After waiting in a super long line, he tells me my prescription isn't ready yet (I had called 2 days ahead), rudely tells me I should have called (which I did), and to come back later. I leave frustrated and immediately get a text that my prescription is ready for pick up. Never heard any sort of apology from him for messing up. This isn't the first time I've had bad interactions with him either. After a year of trying to get through these terrible interactions and long lines, I think it's best to switch pharmacies even if it's a further drive! Would not recommend!! read more

Never trust this Pharmacy! Avoid at all costs! I received multiple calls from Safeway telling me my medication was ready. This was after already waiting 48 hours for them to fill it after my doctor called it in. When I got there, they told me they did not have the syringe my doctor ordered and we're going to give me another syringe. I told them the syringe cannot be changed for a medication. The pharmacist came over and told me it should work. I explained, that it would not due to what the medication was. There was a reason I had to have the syringe that was ordered. Furthermore, if they did not have the syringes which are a prescription why would they call me and tell me my prescription is ready? The pharmacist got difficult with me even though I was perfectly calm. I then said that I wanted my prescriptions transferred to another pharmacy as I could not wait any longer for my supplies. They were very difficult about letting me transfer my prescription to another pharmacy in the area. Thankfully the pharmacist at Rite Aid call them and was able to get my prescription and fill it for me with the correct syringes at the same time. She was aghast at their pharmacist what tell me to use a different syringe than what my doctor ordered read more

This pharmacy is the worst. Long lines always. I went to pick up a prescription that wasn't ready. The clerk told me to wait and it would be ready in about 20 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes without even a glance from the guy, he put on his jacket and left, apparently going on a break. Walked right by me and never said a thing. The guy who took his place had no idea that or why I was waiting and the line was all the way into the bakery. So I left. I will never use this pharmacy again if I have any choice at all. read more

I am not an "angry online review" person but this pharmacy is so epically bad it's worth the 5 minutes of effort. Unfortunately this is the only pharmacy in Bend that carries the specific medication I need - I cannot switch out of frustration. I will echo the people who say it is a common occurrence to wait 30-60 minutes at 10 am on a Tuesday. They haven't answered the phone during business hours in three years. I waited for them to fill an Rx for two weeks, waited in line for an hour to ask what was going on, was told to come back in 48 hours. Waited in line for an hour again, told it wasn't there, come back in 48 hours. Waited in line for an hour again, CRIED, was told to come back in 48 hours and that time they had it (after the hour wait). My kids have had to wait an extra day to start super important things like antibiotics because of the staffing situation. I just cannot stress enough how messed up this place is, and I feel so sad that I don't have an alternative. I wish they'd politely decline new patients until they get things under control. read more

The worst pharmacy I have ever experienced. Every time I have attempted to pick up a prescription I had to wait in line for 45 minutes to an hour. Most of the time when I finally get to the cashier I am told that my prescription is not ready, even though I called in 3 days earlier. Can't call and have a refill because they shut off their phones! I don't have a refill prescription # or I'd do it that way. The lines are always in hand the lady that is usually the one you speak with at the pharmacy register talks to everyone and wastes time meanwhile there is a huge line! This is the slowest pharmacy I've ever experienced. They typically take 10 minutes per customer and the line stretches back usually 5-15 people. You would think the register would be a little quicker with the back up but I guess they don't care. I've stayed at this pharmacy because of the convenience of shopping there. This pharmacy is absolutely horrible at filling prescriptions on time. They are understaffed, and even when you call ahead days in advance you can expect to show up and be told they don't have it ready, Oh and the line of shame winding through the aisle makes for awkwardness while you wait! Over the years has become a nightmare to get a prescription filled or a pick up. Be prepared to spend huge amount of time in line.

They gave me the wrong medication. I went back 2 hours later and they refused to give me my money back, they subsituted another drug. I take 2 different doses, one was correct the other was not. It cost me $66. and I do not have the medication because they do not have it in stock. They said I could come back when they get it in, but I would have to pay them again. I have been taking the same thyroid mediation for 15 years and patients do not just switch from one thyroid med to another, telling me it is generic is not meaningful when treating for hypothyroid. The doses do not translate equally. The pharmacist blamed the mistake on me and my doctor saying he should have checked a certain box and I should have known to check them before I left the store. They told me never to come back in their store and they do not want my business. There was another medication that I was coming back for because when I was there 2 hours earlier it was not ready and was told to come back in 30 minutes, but they still had not filled that medication. They had the order for 3 days. They tried to not give me the other medication I had come back for. The pharmacist said I was NOT a regular customer and she had no records of the medication I was taking. I tried to explain the issue with having the different medication, but they talked over the top of me and told me I was being disrespectful to them. I have gone to this location for 13 years. I will be filing a complaint against them with the store, with corporate and whoever regulates pharmacist. My insurance does not cover the cost of this medication. I will be taking my business to Westside Pharmacy. read more

It takes a lot for me to even consider writing a review for anything. Over the last two years this pharmacy has steadily declined in several areas. First, professionalism. In front of several of people the pharmacist confirmed my medications by name loud enough so that every patron could hear what I was being prescribed. That has happened five times just in the last four months. Second, long wait lines. Just today, in a non-rush hour time, there was a line 16 deep. That is not a one-off. It is a consistent theme. Third, they dont ever answer their phones, ever. Fourth, general service. Two times in the last five months they have confirmed my prescriptions are ready for me, only to find out, after waiting in a long line, that they don't even have the medications I need. While waiting in line today I finally called another pharmacy to have everything transferred. I'm relieved that I never have to go there again. Some of the staff are nice, Ralph in particular, and I feel bad for them that they have to deal with seemingly poor management. read more
