This lady today (wish I had her name), walks up to me and tells me I can't check out here - I had more than 10. I'm not from WA, so maybe they're strict as heck here. 1) No one was behind me. 2) I'm a lot faster at self checkout than the register workers. 3) I'm allowed to SELF checkout if I want. I don't want to talk to people. She points a finger at me to leave and says "I don't care you have to leave". We are both adults and this is a grocery store, it's NOT that serious, I promise you. It's almost a laughable interaction. I was just so shocked because I've never shopped somewhere where the workers care so much to hound the customers about what's in their cart. You're not even the one doing the work!

This place always seems to be teaming with incompetent workers, particularly in the portion of the store which deals with hot food. Working usually dazing off, arguing with each other, bad mouthing each other in front of customers, etc. Today I went in to get my regularly once a week cheat meal- the Supreme Chinese Combo. I always order half rice, Half chow mein. The short haired lady taking my order tells me "I can't do that, it's policy". Wtf. Since WHEN? How ridiculous. It is only a matter of time before these unstable stacks collapse and cause a severe injury. Management needs to intervene and fix these code and safety hazards immediately before someone gets hurt.

I just drove through Castle Rock for the first time in months, maybe even a year, and WHOA, there's a Dollar General! I have been to the Rainier and Clatskanie locations, and this is only slightly worse. They didn't have their store exclusive Mountain Dew, that I was looking for. Rainier does, at least. Other than that, great stock of items, meaning nothing really seemed to be out. Looked WAY cleaner than anticipated. Also not the busiest, as Dollar General's go. Employees seemed nice enough, too. But they didn't have what I was looking for, so the interaction was minimal. This will probably be an interesting place for Castle Rock people to go, but it really won't be that much more advantageous than a place they've been familiar with for years. But it shows the start of maybe making Castle Rock bigger, and better. Definitely stop by and see if maybe they carry something the other local stores don't have. She was also loudly arguing with coworkers at the counter about a new company policy regarding purple hair color and face tattoos, insisting she was right and that she'd lose her job over it. This was completely unprofessional in front of customers. On a later visit, I personally experienced her being condescending and rude to me directly at the counter, and I had to ask her to stop talking to me. As this was happening, she was yelling across the room about how great she is and how loved she is there, while the pharmacist stood there listening and said nothing. I left the store shaking, I was so angry. After two separate incidents, we've lost confidence in this location and have moved our prescriptions elsewhere. Customer service matters, especially at a pharmacy where people are often already stressed or unwell, this kind of treatment shouldn't happen.
