Hmmm...not a terrible experience, but also not one that would make me return. Prices are on the higher side, but using their app to select specific electronic coupons can help. Store was clean, and well-stocked. Line to checkout was long (just one checkout open) so I did the self- checkout. I didn't notice until after I got home that I had been overcharged - they had a special offer to buy four packages of specially marked meat and get them for $5/each. I bought four but was charged full price (overcharged about $7.00). I live out of the area so called to: A) arrange a refund B) let them know their system was not programmed correctly so they could fix it The person on the customer service line interrupted me and said "just bring your receipt in and we'll give you your money back". I attempted to explain that I live far away and was interrupted again with "you have 90 days." Having worked in customer service for a long time, I guess I just miss actual service recovery and genuine human responses. Even a quick "I'm sorry you experienced that" or something, but instead the response felt robotic and without a bit of empathy. It is what it is, I guess. It's unlikely I'll go back there. read more

Love the store in Kelso and on ocean beach. The one on 15th sucks and the short blonde lady working at the deli always has a bad attitude. Rude customer service, talks to you like you're stupid. The deli here is 10x better than the one in Kelso. The one in kelso, if you buy chicken you get extremely overcooked leather. But buying chicken from the Longview Safeway you get perfection. read more

It's an older store but wide enough isles and shelves were well stocked. Employees I encountered were pleasant and helpful. It's close to my new apartment so I'll be back. Glad to see it has the fas station too. read more

I give 2 stars for the store. Friendly ppl and cashiers. I would give 0 stars for the pharmacy. They are rude, and this is the 3rd time I went home with 1/2orders. When I call back they take quite awhile to figure out that my insurance doesn't cover it. So I asked them if they were going to let me or my Dr know? Her reply was no, we don't do that. I live half a block away and like to go hear for quick things. But it seems like anytime I go in they are very short handed and I always have to wait in line forever. No matter what time of day it is. Always a hassle to get just one item. Plus lots of people that go in there using food stamps for items they shouldn't be using them for . Example: Starbucks and energy drinks. Plus cops are over there all the time due to thefts and drifters. They really need to think about more employees on hand that way it could be more efficient and less stressful on the existing staff. read more

This Safeway is not good at all. It's a dirty and gross store. I will focus on the bathroom experience from our latest trip. The bathrooms are disgusting and don't seem to be cleaned or maintained. The door latches do not work to keep the doors closed. The toilet is nearly touching the wall. We had to stand in a puddle of urine to wait in line. Many druggies kept coming in. There's no maintenance of it, it's unsanitary and unsafe, especially with the virus going around. With the amount of money Safeway makes they need to do something about this. I'm worried about my children's health from having to go in there. We showered after getting home because our experience was so horrific. I have just returned from this store, which will no longer have my business nor my friends' business after what I observed today. 13 people did not have on masks in the 15 minutes I was there. I just left here after a long and humiliating experience as a WIC recipient. My cashier Nick was rude to me about my WIC food, and talked with a clearly annoyed tone about the transaction. He then refused to sell me a product as a WIC item that was clearly marked a WIC item in the aisle at the grocery store. He made me wait with my 10 month old son in arms until his manager got off of break to settle it. There were people in line behind us and it was humiliating having to wait in the front of the grocery store as my son got more and more upset about sitting in a grocery store for over an hour at that point. Another customer in the store heard me get upset with Nick and called me a bitch from 3 aisles away. She was not told to calm down. After asking her why she felt it was necessary to call me that, she proceeded to threaten to "kick my ass", as my child is in my arms. She was still not asked to calm down. I won't be returning to safeway and I will be filing a complaint with WIC in the morning. read more

Customer Service plainly sucked! One of the register gals asked for a manager override, it took her almost 10 minutes (not quite but close) to get her butt over there. This review is specifically for the pharmacy: I cannot remember a time where I have submitted a prescription for a refill and have been able to go and pick it up without waiting 30-60 minutes in addition. This is a big inconvenience. Today specifically, I had submitted a refill yesterday and the automated system said it would be ready this morning so I went it and was told it was currently being filled and to come back in 30 minutes. I came back after the wait and was told it still wasn't ready and that I needed to wait longer. I really wish I could just put my refills up in a timely manner. This is absurd and happens more often than not. read more

Why does a person go to a place like Safeway? Usually to purchase food. What brings that person back as a return customer...besides price? To me and many other is "Customer service." Can you guess why will never return to this store? You guessed it...terrible customer service. I just moved here, and this was my first visit to this Safeway. I waited my turn in line only to be helped by a person who immediately informed my I would have to wait longer because they were going on break. Q: Why would this person come to me and what I needed, then tell me that they were going on break? What a terrible manner to greet a customer. And, this store seems rather short handed with help.
