Fred Meyer has a solid inventory and you can usually find what you're looking for, but the prices are much higher than the competition. Amazon is consistently cheaper for most items, and groceries at WinCo are almost always a better value. And now I was told I needed to prove my app doesn't work to get the discount, even though I have the membership number.... You need both for some deals. Apparently Fred Meyer Associates will be fired for providing customer service, and they can also be fired if they stop someone from shop lifting,. There something is really wrong with this stance. This store finally finished the remodel and the parking lot is again available to park in totally. However, now comes the task of finding where all the items we were familiar with have been moved to. It's a huge store and has just about everything from households, to clothes, jewelry, a pharmacy and loads of food items. Prices are average for the area but choices are good. I called today to get one of my Rx transferred from hospital to FM, since I use FM Pharmacy for my monthy Rxs. I was told to call the hospital pharmacy. Once I did that, the hospital pharmacy told me that FM has to make the request. So, had the customer service at FM done their job correctly the first time, I wouldn't be making multiple calls trying to get my Rx transferred, only the first call. Second call to FM goes much worse, Nicole answered and had a very coarse tone. When I told her what Rx it was she said it was out of stock. I said I couldn't hear her, its out of stock? I repeated myself a few times because she was not responding to me. I ask if it can be ordered or if I need a new pharmacy- since she is not responding to me. At this point she gets really rude and says I can find a new pharmacy if I want and accuses me of being very rude to her. I explain I feel as if she's been very rude to me and ask if I can please speak to someone else. She claims no one else is in the pharmacy and hangs up on me. I was a few minutes from the pharmacy so I drop in to see who just lost my business and who I need to name in my review and there are 5 people working in the pharmacy, including a pharmacist who can't keep his eyes open while speaking to me and is completely unconcerned about Nicole being rude, although he did confirm it was Nicole on the phone. Household of 6 will never use this pharmacy again. Both my Rx are extremely expensive, assuming the pharmacy gets a percentage of each Rx, pharmacist didn't seem to mind losing the business. I've never in my life been spoken to so rudely on the phone or hung up on when asking if I can please speak to someone else. read more

Overall this is a nice store to shop. Ad items are usually in stock. The majority of the employees are very helpful. The only reason I give this store 3 stars is their lack of customer service in the electronics section. I have shopped at several Fred Meyer stores and I can say easily this is the worst electronic section. Just the other day a customer asked the female associate if he could buy an item at their checkout counter. Her body language and basically a "grunt" was poor! Enough of the bad. This store always has plenty of cashiers. The self checkout is well maintained and has employees who are quick to respond. The floor staff including those doing the clickpick are helpful too. Don't go to the deli here unless you have to. I witnessed an insta cart shopper attempt to get an item. When asking for help the young punk deli girl told him to go to the other side and wait in a rude tone. When it was his turn she walked over and helped him, throwing the item at him as it bounced off of his arm. When I told her that was very inconsiderate and rude, she told me I could go "screw myself" and shop elsewhere if I couldn't handle it. Wow! Is this how we talk and handle customer service nowadays? I just about lost it when she told me that. Oh well, just a young punk who needs better training. I'll go to Safeway next time. Seriously I don't know who's running this local Fred Meyers but THAT management team needs an update not the store! Slowest possible check outs caused by new pointless systems, taking I g out the change machines but adding an extra step to getting your groceries into your bags seems idiotic and I stand there twiddling my thumbs.. Had a good experience at this Fred Meyer on my ride back from the coast to the metropolis of Portland. Store is a modern, up-to-date Fred Meyer, which means there's electronics, hardware, furniture, (name-brand) clothing, shoes, and a large selection of groceries here. When I was here, a woman was having a LARGE deli catering order wheeled out to her car on a baking tray cart. Wild! Gasoline here seems to be the cheapest around, and like all FM stores, you get a 3c discount always and 10c with a rewards card after spending $100 in a month at the store. Pretty good Fred Meyer. Medium sized store and selection from a variety of others I've shopped. Fruits, veggies, meats all seem to be in good/decent condition and the selections are kept up to date. Household has a good selection, smaller than some stores but they'll have just about anything you'd expect. Most employees are friendly, items are bagged correctly, not difficult to get paper over plastic. Beer selection is not great unless craft beer tastes are heavy on IPA. read more

I needed new shoes and new slippers. Due to my knees, I have to sit down to try them on to make sure they fit correctly. However, the store has removed the seats for trying on shoes. When I asked an attendant, I was told all of the seats have been removed and there is no place to sit to try them on. No alternative was given to me. I felt this was poor customer service and left the store with no shoes or slippers, but with a feeling of poor customer service. read more

Not a big fan of the redesign. It's obvious that they're looking at analytics rather than customer experience. They're forcing you to basically do your own self check out. The new checkout stands crush all your food at the end of the belt by compacting the food into a smaller area. The older checkout stands were much better. The checkout person could step out and scan your heavy items. Now they have to walk all the way around. Sometimes a bagger is not there and you might as well just start bagging your own food. It just makes shopping more difficult. So unfortunately we switched to Safeway next-door. They still have the customer experience as their goal, And not treating their store like an assembly line. read more

I go in to Fredmeyers customer service once every month to get a money order for my rent and I dread going every time because the older man they have working behind the customer service desk about 90% of the time is an absolute nightmare. He is absolutely rude, no smiles, no greetings, zero customer service, sits there idly doing whatever while someone is so obviously sitting in line waiting and he won't ever acknowledge you until you make yourself obvious by waving your hands or whatever else, absolutely rude and this location should definitely consider having someone better suited for the job to work behind the customer service counter read more

A great place for most of my shopping in one place. One of the best things here is the customer service which is awesome! We do almost all of our grocery and other shopping here even though we live closer to other super centers like Walmart. They have friendly employees from the cashiers to the grocery stockers. Plus they have self-checkout which I use almost every time I go there. I like their smaller push carts for when I don't need to do too much shopper but need something bigger than a hand basket. Overall this is a really great place to shop and would recommend it to anyone. read more

I really dislike Fred Meyers. Why? For a couple reasons. One: I went there recently to get some easy copies off my phone of some photos I wanted. The computer they had there was DINOSAUR slow. It processed all my photos in 20 minutes. I didn't even have that many photos, and I only needed three printed. The lady behind the photo counter was less than unhelpful. I told her I was having difficulties and she just stood there and looked at me like I was a complete moron. I ended up getting my photos printed at Office Depot for dirt cheap, (and with GREAT customer service). I'd advise against getting your photos printed from Fred Meyer's. Two: EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I come here there's always issues in the aisles. Clusters of retired women congregate in the middle of the aisles blocking EVERYTHING, and they just stand there and chat! It's so grating when I'm trying to get some groceries in a hurry with my mom who has very-low patience. It's never like that at Safeway, and it's not like it's a one-time thing where it just happened once, it happens every single time I come here. I avoid Fred Meyer's to get groceries, I go to Safeway instead. Other than those two really frustrating things, Fred Meyer's is OK. You can find some pretty good clothes and electronics here. I love Fred Meyers cause its Regionally owned and uses local producers whenever possible. One stop shop for everything! Tried the new ordering groceries on line with Clicklist and love that too. Very great customer service. Excellent sushi bar and Starbucks too. I do all my Christmas shopping there cause they have a good selection of toys and grandchildren clothes plus you get points that can discount your gas 10-20 cents a gallon! The only complaint is that they need to replace half of their shopping carts. Thats why I use Clicklist so I don't have to bother with heavy cases of water, etc. read more

Was looking into buying a couch for my dorm from here...found one I really liked. I was sitting on it for 10 min maybe with my roommates, trying to decide if we were sure about it. This was gonna be our first big purchase, we would be spending $1000 each, so it was a big deal, we wanted to be positive. Is that a sin? Anyways we decided we wanted it, we were about to find someone to talk to about buying it. Then a very rude worker came over yelling that if we wanted to sit around like that we could do it in the seating section but we needed to leave the "too expensive for us couch". He said this in such an aggressive that the other customers around said "wow that was rude" and apologized to us and asked if we were okay. Purely because of this encounter we decided to get a couch from Ikea instead. I don't think any of us will shop at this Fred Meyers again. This Fred Meyer has some bad issues. In the isle just before the checkstands are employees shooting foam rockets at each other, does management not realize that this is a safety hazard? then I know about restocking , but the produce isles are the worst. Large carts blocking the isles so you must go around, then the produce guys are blocking the items so you can't get to them. then u have the vendors blocking isles all over the store with pallets and carts. The website said the store hours were 0600 to 2300 so I woke up at 0500 to get there when they opened, when I arrived at 0600 there were six people waiting to get in but it was still closed. There was an older woman in the group waiting to get in and she asked Siri what time the store opened and Siri responded 0600. While we were waiting by the door several store lackies saw us standing there but ignored us. The sign said the hours were from 0700 to 2200. This location started opening at 0600 in January 2020 but they changed the hours due to the China Flu pandemic, they just never put up a notification sign on their door or on the website. When the store did open I went in and politely told one of the managers and they said the store hours were posted on the door. I indicated to the manager that it doesn't do the customer any good when the see 0600 on the website and drive to the store to find it isn't open, the manager just looked at me with a blank stare and said they were working on updating the website.
